Morning All,

I sure was tired this morning but got out of bed and walked the dog, worked out with Jillian and 30 Day Shred #1, also a 25 min. run. Feet and legs where sore, but I worked through that. :)

Opening weekend went great, and I had a wonderful time. A few minor issures to deal with, but overall fun fun fun. :D I meet so many wonderful families, and of course little girls that liked sparkly dresses. :D:eek:

Susan, How was your weekend with the family?

Karen, How was the wedding?

Lala & Sue, Hope your weekend was a good one.

Laurie

Laurie - I'm glad Opening Weekend went well. Cute about the little girls loving the sparkly dresses. Good job pushing through your workouts this morning. Hope your feet and legs recover soon.

Karen - It was great to see you again. I friended Cathe on Facebook but am waiting for a response. The piece of exercise eqipment I saw at that hotel was a Health Rider. It reminds me of something I used to see on playgrounds when I was a kid. DH's aunt and uncle bought one when they came out about 15 years ago. Covert Bailey promoted them.

No workout yet today. I did a lot of workouts over the weekend so I'm not sure I remember everything!
Friday night - BL Cardio Max Beginner (NOT beginner, trust me!)
Saturday - 2 mile jog/walk + Slo Mo Chest, Bis, Tris
Sunday - Results Lower + KB practice + Leslie 2 miles

I need more practice with the kettlebell before I attempt a workout. Maybe I should get a lighter KB to practice? I have a 15 lb. one.

I recorded the Insanity infomercial and people are gasping for air in the 10 min. warmup! The WARMUP! I don't think this series is for me although both my kids think they could do it. ;-) Intensity aside, it looks too high impact for me. From doing Shred, Results, BFBM, Prevention FCF lately, I've learned that I can get a really intense workout without a lot of impact. There's some, but not the crazy kind of impact I saw in the infomercial (e.g. tuck jumps on speed).

Hi gang! I had a great time with my brothers and their family. Too much fun actually! Hard to get back in the swing this morning. I mowed the lawn this morning and am finally going to go get Bootcamp done! Was not able to fit it in last week. I sat down and wrote out a rotation for a couple weeks and then will start over again for another 2 weeks. I did not workout this weekend!:eek:

Laurie, glad you had a great opening weekend! Way to go on getting that workout in this morning! You are far better then me!;)

Sue, you are getting those workouts in! I also watched the Insanity previews. Part of me wants to try it out, the other part doesn't! I think I'd rather have Cathe's Shock Cardio myself!

Karen, hope you had fun at the wedding. That was nice you were able to see Sue! We hope to get up tot he cabin within the next few weeks. I'll let you know when!

Hi Lala!! Hope you are enjoying the vacation!

Take care all - Susan

Hello,

Today I did STS Meso 2 Legs and weights and plates abs. Hopefully I will get a short run in later.

Already took DS11 to basketball camp, got groceries and now I am heading to the dentist for 4 of the kids to get some teeth filled and or pulled. Then off the pick up the cherries I ordered in Barron. I figure I should be back home around 5:30pm., just in time for supper. Probably no run today.

Sue, it was great to see you too. You are really sweet. I saw the insanity preview also but I seem to be drawn to Cathe so I'll just stick with her. I think 15 is a good weight to start with. I wouldn't go any lighter. I hope you like it as much as I do. Had to stop for awhile until my shoulder gets better. What is your last name, or if you know mine you can add me as your friend.

Laurie, glad you had a great weekend. I love little girls in sparkly dresses. I'll bet it is fun to meet new families with the same interests. I'll bet your legs need to get used to standing so much again. Nice workout this morning. I need to get more motivated like you.

Susan, The wedding was fine. The kids had a blast with their Aunt and Uncle. Definitely give me a call or set something up when you come to your cabin. It would be nice to meet you. I used to not like Bootcamp but I like it now. Did you order Cathe's Shock Cardio?

Hi Lala, hope you enjoyed your weekend and got lots of outdoor exercise in.

Have a great day.

Today I did one of the plyo legs DVDs. This weekend...hmm...I swam, mowed, can´t remember what else! Am finishing up a class and have a 20 page paper/project that I want to finish by Fri!

Laurie, glad to hear opening weekend went so well...and after all that you got in some great workouts!

Sue, you did some great workouts! Haven´t seen the infomercial on insanity yet, don´t think I´ll get it, but would like to see what it´s like

Susan, sounds like you enjoyed your weekend...and you workout so much, a free weekend won´t hurt!

Karen, you had a busy day! Must have gotten up early to get your workout in before all the running around! Hope your shoulder continues to get better.

Morning All,

Todays workout was 30 Day Shred #1 and 4DS Kickboxing only.

Sue, I will NOT be getting the insanity workouts. I just don't need to do workouts that I will probably never do because I would dread the thought. I agree with you on getting in good workouts with what I have, without having to go insane! :D Great workouts you are doing.

Susan, So did you get BC in? ;) I always have to have a rotation figured out. If I don't then I don't feel like doing anything.

Karen, Your running around made me tired. :D So does this mean I should finally get myself on Facebook. So many people have been asking me to get on, but I just keep putting it off. :) Don't know why! You are right, my legs do have to start getting used to standing around for over 8 hours a day.

Lala, Good luck on getting that project finished. You will do it. ;) I was proud of myself for not giving into the fact that I was tired. After the workout I really did feel pretty good. I was in bed last night at around 9pm though. :D Really feel great this morning. :D

Have a great day!

Laurie

Hi BB's,

Today I did STS Chest/tri/shoulders disk 16. Tonight is the group bike ride.

Off to basketball camp and to pick up my cherries that I didn't get to yesterday. I hope they are still holding them for me. My DS forgot to give me the message last week and I didn't get time yesterday.

Lala, hope you get your paper finished by Fri. Nice workouts in over the weekend. You did enjoy the weather.

Laurie, definitely get facebook. Then add me as friend. It is neat for pictures and to keep up with people. I am still debating on getting the Jillian workouts. There is no place that sells them in RL. They seem to only have exercise videos around the New Year. Amazing isn't it. I guess you only need to workout in Jan.

Hi Sue and Susan, hope you are having a no stress day.

Take care.

Susan - I'm eagerly waiting for Shock Cardio, too. Good for you taking the weekend off exercise. I'll bet you breezed through Bootcamp. ;)

Karen - My last name is Schultz. I probably won't get time to check Facebook until this weekend. They block it at work so it's finding the time at home to check it. So what are you going to make with the cherries? (yum, yum)

Lala - I LOVE writing papers so your project would be fun for me - well, depending on the subject. ;) It'd have to be an interesting one. I was curious about Insanity, too, which is why I recorded the infomercial. It motivated me to workout after I watched it so I guess that was a good thing.

Laurie - That's in a nutshell. I already avoid certain workouts because of the "D" word (dread). And yes, signup for Facebook so I can friend you, too! :D

Last night I did a Leslie mile as my warmup and then Slo Mo Back and Shoulders and MIS abs. Tonight I am hoping to do cardio but DD14 wants to get a haircut and this is the only night the gal she likes works. Hopefully I can squeeze in something if we go as soon as I get home from work.

Does anyone drink coffee? This morning I made organic coffee at home using an unbleached filter and sweetened with Stevia. I feel so healthy and it tastes better than the stuff they sell out of the machine here. I'm trying to ween myself off Aspartame and diet soda. I only had 1 diet Mt. Dew in the past week which I haven't done since I gave up soda for Lent a long time ago.

Have a great day everyone!

HI Ladies! Today was a 45mn walk and Pilates Advanced for an hour. With this rotation I have added in more Pilates in order to lean me out a little (I hope!). I also love how it feels!

I am on Facebook as well! I go by Susan Sheahan Zamzow on there! It a great way to keep up with all my siblings and neices & nephews. Not too mention the old friends I have gotten re-acquainted with!

Sue, I love coffe!! Actually coffee and water are the main things I drink! I know I shouldn't but I told my DH it's the only vice I have and I ain't going to give it up! ;) Did you like the organic stuff? What is the brand you got?

Karen, hope you got your cherries picked up. What are you going to make with them?

Laurie, wish I was in bed at 9 last night! I am very tired today and have a headache so I think I am going to go lay down for a little bit before attacking my chores!

Have a great night! Susan

So we can all be facebook friends ;) My name on facebook is Leslie Pampush Reigel. Karen, what is yours? My DDs make fun of me because all of us "old people" have FB :)

Today I did a 35 minute run...felt GREAT and later on did the new KB by Amy Bento. I *heart* that workout!

Sue, my paper is on using both cognitive and sociolinguistic theories and activities in the foreign language classroom...still want to help? :p;) and I drink coffee all the time. When I go to bed it's what I look forward to in the morning...yes, simple pleasures for simple people. But I drink it black, so can't comment on the sweeteners you're using.

Karen, did you get your run in? And what are you doing with the cherries? Sat there was a truckload sale of peaches and they are the best I've had in years. Froze about 6 qts.

Laurie, I know all about getting to bed at 9! Some days in the winter, it's even earlier:eek:

Susan, hope you got a nap in and are feeling better. Do you find that the Pilates helps to lean you out? You do such a variety, which do you find works the best for you?

Good morning,

Last night we went 47 miles in wind and rain. What a hardy bunch. 10 people showed up for that.

Today I am doing GS Legs and each Wed. in summer, there is a 2.5 or 5 mile race on the college grounds so a couple of my boys and i are going to that tonight.

Lala, so happy we can all be friends on Facebook and here. Do you have any other Amy workouts? I have all of them except her new one and in the Ring. I haven't run in a few weeks now. We just get a huge box of cherries at a Mennonite store and eat them. With 8 people who love cherries, they don't last long. Nothing better than fresh peaches. Yum!! The place where I got the cherries can also order peaches, blueberries, apricots etc. I pick up blueberries on Thur. We will eat those also.

Susan, Hope you are feeling better today. Glad you are still enjoying your pilates, still trying to fit them in consistantly.

Sue, I knew you last name, just couldn't remember it. Did you get your workout in last night. You really are getting some good workouts in. Good job on the Mt. Dew. Glad you found coffee you like and feel good about drinking. Is DH still keeping up on his workouts?

Hi Laurie.

Have a great day.

Morning All,

Today my workout was 30 Day Shred #1 and a 25 min. Run on the TM (raining). Will be heading to jury duty later this afternoon. :p I think they will be picking people for the jury. So it is probably going to be sit and wait type of thing.

Karen, Got to love all that yummy fruit. :) I have always found it funny that the exercise workouts are only out during Jan. And it seems they only keep them out for 2 weeks. Amazon is selling some of JM's workouts for $7 right now. I am doing an experiment of trying the 30 Day Shred for the 30 Days. So far I have 10 days down, and tomorrow morning I will take my measurements. Don't know if I can get on facebook this week, just to much to get done yet. :)

Sue, I drink coffee every morning, but it is black. :) I drink decaff green tea, also unsweetened. Sorry I can't help you there. :( WTG on giving up that soda.

Susan, Did that headache go away for you? I know in the past the Pilates has worked for you. ;)

Lala, Well I won't be helping you with that paper! Glad you are loving Amy's KB. :D

Well I just spilt coffee on my shirt! What a dork.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Susan - I'm cheap so I bought the least expensive organic coffee I could find which was the Roundy's brand. It was good but I don't know if they sell it ground. I bought the beans and ground it at home which I didn't mind because fresh ground is better. Running late this morning so didn't have time to make it (dang). :(

Lala - I'm glad you're writing that paper instead of me! Now if you ever need to write about the impact of heap threshholds on memory for Java apps, I'm your woman! LOL I'm such a nerd. . . BTW, I see on FB your real name is Leslie. Do you prefer being called Leslie or Lala? Which Amy KB workout do you have? I'm having trouble with the Clean (I think that's what it's called). The one where you swing the kb through your legs, bring it up to your shoulder and twist it and raise it overhead. I bounce the kb on my forearm and it hurts! Have to read the tips and figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Karen - My mom used to buy fruit in bulk when it was in season and make jams/jellies, can or freeze it. We kids always looked forward to eating it as is. DH has been doing pretty well on his workouts. He sprained his ankle on Saturday so this morning he said he was resting it. He went to the gym on Monday though and had baseball practice for DS' team last night which gives him a bit of a workout.

Laurie - I think I'm in your Dork Club. :D Have you ever noticed that you spill coffee down the front of your blouse whenever you wear a white shirt? Or maybe that's just me! LOL I noticed you've been doing Shred a lot lately. I think these type of workouts really work for me which is why I've been doing a lot of these, too. I missed the heavy weights though so had to stick some Slo Mo in last weekend. Let us know your results.

I took DD14 to get a haircut last night and it took longer than I expected. She was debating over hairstyles and looking through their books trying to decide. She went the shortest it's been since she was about 2 and kind of funky. She'll have to learn how to use the root boost and bed head products to "mess it up". The messier the cuter is what the hairstylist kept saying. It'll be a change for her. She didn't do anything more than brush it before.

So no workout last night. This morning was an effort to get out of bed but I did it! :D Did 5 out of 6 intervals in Prevention's Fight Cellulte Fast cardio workout. Kids have art and trombone lessons tonight so don't know if I'll get anything in unless DH volunteers to chauffeur. (keeping my fingers crossed)

HI gang!

Today was the elliptical (Sports Training Program) for 45 minutes and Mindy's Pump Party. Yes, I do like the results I get from being consistent with Pilates. My back was sore this morning I think from doing exercises I haven't done in a while! My headache did go away yesterday after a 90mn nap!

Lala, I'll let you do that writing all on your own! ;) I'm sure it'll be great!

Laurie, I am interested to know yuor results as well. I am not a big fan of Jillian's but if you see a difference I may just have to change my mind!

Sue, I bet your DD looks adorable! I am trying to talk my DD12 into going in for a cut but she is being a bit stubborn!

Karen, 47 miles sounds tough in wind and rain! Heck, without the wind & rain it'd be rough for me!;) Enjoy those cherries!:)

DS won their b-ball game lst night even though 1 boy got a broken nose, one hurt his hand and one bruised his collar bone! It was a rough night!

Have a great day! Susan

This am was one of the STS Chest, Bi, Shoulders. I'm just about to hop on the bike to pick up my printer ink at Walgreen's where they're refilling it, so that will be my cardio (I'm doing Cathe's june 09 rotation...still

Sue, sorry, I meant the kicKBox workout by Amy... surge. I don't have any kettlbells. I think I may be too klutzy to use. Them.
You guys can call me Les, Leslie, Lala, which is a nickname since highschool!
heap thresholds for java apps???? that is a foreign language to me:D

Susan, congrats on DS's ball game...didn't think that was such a rough sport :)

Karen, a 2.5 or 5 mile bikeride for you must be like a walk in the park! You are a diehard with 47 miles in the wind and rain!! Good job. I am definitely a fair weather outside exerciser!

Laurie, I'm interested, too, to know your results on your 30 day shred. I use sparkpeople and Jillian has been featured on there. I can relate with the coffee...but gotta have it!

Have a good afternoon

Good Morning,

Last night I ran the 2.5 mile at the run. I guess a couple weeks off makes a huge difference. All three of my boys beat me and my DD6 ran it in 31 min. I am so proud of her, actually all of them. My DH ran it with her because he has a bad ankle and can't run.

Today I am doing a run, Imax or JM cardio. Which one to do?

Lala, still doing the June rotation are you? I guess that vacation put you a bit behind. It has to better than my rotation where I decide what workout I am going to do right before it's time to exercise. Are you almost done with your paper?

Susan, nice workout on the elliptical. Wish ours worked, DH hasn't got a chance to look at it yet. Boy BB sounds like a tough game. Glad your headache went away, nothing like a good 90 min nap to take care of it. I don't care for Jillian either but Laurie is very much an enabler without even knowing it.

Sue, on the clean make sure your hand thumb side facing the back wall and rotate as you go up and the rotation makes it so it doesn't hit your forearm. How did DH sprain his ankle. Your DD haircut sounds cute. How is she doing with keeping the style? Did DH take the kids where they had to go last night so you could get a workout in?

Laurie, how did jury duty go? Were you picked or not? Did you get your measurements done yet? Inquiring minds want to know what your results are. No hurry on the facebook scene, it will still be there when you get a chance to sign up.

Have a good day gals.

Morning All,

30 Day Shred Level 2 and 30MTF Kickboxing #1 (used 1lb hand weights) all done. :D I was a puddle of sweat this morning. :D

First 10 Day results: 1-1/2 lb down, 1" down in the waist. No change to the thighs or the largest part of hips. On the other hand I didn't measure the upper hips, and I think I lost something there. My pants are falling down more. :D So far I'm not bored (thought I would be ).

As you can see I'm not at a trial. I arrived at the courthouse, went to the room and was told to go. Apparently new information was given to the judge, so the case was going to be heard at a later time. The best part is I don't have to go to jury duty again for another 4 years. ;)

Sue, I bet your DD will get the hang of messing up her hair. :D Oh yes those white shirts are like food magnets. :D I have not been missing the heavy weights yet. I am looking at STS for Sept though.

Susan, I started this rotation because I felt I was at a plateau. I was making some changes to my lower body, but nothing was helping my waist. Jillian is heavy on the core and shoulders, which just happens to be where I need the work.

Lala, I have to have my coffee also, don't know how I would function without it. :D

Karen, LOL about me being an enabler. I try not to be, but I really like Jillian. Of course I like Tony Horton when others didn't care for him. I'm really glad that they didn't have the trial, because it was for termination of parental rights. I probably wouldn't have been picked anyway. ;)

Since I have not been able to post pics, I will direct you to a site that actually has a pic of me.

http://www.fairephotography.com/RenFaire.7-11-2009/large-42.html This one has me in the background.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Had to come back on to say that I was wrong. I did have a change in my hips. I looked at my number, and I am down in the hips by 3/4". Guess that is why my pants are riding low.

Laurie

Laurie, the dress is beautiful and you look wonderful. Great job on shredding your waist, hips and arms. Tried BFBM today. Not fun. I was glad it was only 40 min or so. Hope Jillian can shred some inches off of me too.

Picked up my blueberries. Yum!

Lala - I'm going to keep calling you Lala because that's how I think of you. It's like my sister Joie. For years I never knew her real name was Vicki Jo because we always called her Joie. (I'm from a big family and she's 11 years older.) Her friends call her Vicki but she'll always be Joie to me. Anyway, I forget the KB can be either kettlebell or kickboxing. Just have kettlebells on the brain lately I guess. I like Amy so I'll have to take another look at Surge.

Karen - DH slipped on a ladder and got his foot caught between the rungs. He was trying to put the luggage back into the attic after our trip. Worse yet, no one else was home at the time except the cats and they weren't much help. DS and I had to finish the job. He used RICE and was able to walk on it the next day already. Yes, DH did the running around last night so I was able to workout. :D Thanks for the advice on the Clean. I just have 1 question: Is your hand palm facing up or down when you start the movement with the kb hanging between your legs? I was doing it palm side down so it had to twist more. DD hasn't washed her hair yet so that will be the ultimate test to see if she can maintain her style. I think she'll be fine. No curling or flattening irons to use. I think my kids would definitely beat me at a Fun Run! Your 6 y/o did awesome!

Laurie - Beautiful dress! I can't even imagine the number of hours that went into making that. Great results from Results and Jillian. I like you being an Enabler. ;) I never would have ordered Results (which I love) without you.

Hi, Susan! You probably have really good posture with all the Pilates you do. I was listening to Jillian Michaels radio program that I download and she was talking about how Pilates and Yoga help develop good posture. I can see it because when I dabbled in Pilates a bit, it made me conscious of pulling in my belly button which straightened up my back.

Last night I did the lower body toning segment of Prevention Fight Cellulite Fast, SJP hi/lo segments 1-3 and Gilad Fat Burning cardio w/o. My feet were starting to hurt toward the end of Gilad so I think I need new shoes. This morning I did 2 segments of Stretch Max. Tonight I hope to go for a walk and/or do NYC or RTTC.
