Hi there! Well, that weekend flew right by! I did manage to get most of the stuff on my "To Do" list done however. I have family coming in from out of town this weekend and so I want everything in tip top shape! Sometimes I hate being a perfectionist!:p

Saturday I went on the Elliptical for 45 minutes and Sunday I did Pilates for an hour.

Today I went on the Elliptical again (Heart Rate Intervals) for 40 and did arms and abs.

Have a great Monday! The sun is shining so bright!:D

Susan

Morning BB's,

Had a great time visiting with my parents, but am way tired this morning. :) Went shopping with DD's yesterday, and wore them and myself out.

This morning will be Chest & Back, ABX and a 3 mile run. I didn't get my kickboxing in on Saturday. If I have enough energy I may add that into my workout tomorrow.

DD14 is home sick today with a stomach virus. She is home right now with DH, and he will monitor how she feels. Don't know if I will have to leave early today.

Susan, sounds like you are still enjoying your elliptical. How has your foot been feeling since you are not doing impact cardio? And yes you are right the sun was shining brightly this morning. :) Love it.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Morning BB's,

Laurie, glad you had a nice time with your parents. I hope DD14 gets better soon. Great workout. Did you do the run on your treadmill?

Susan, you are really giving your elliptical a good workout. It is nice to see the sun. It makes it seem warmer than it really is.

Sue, did you get kickboxing in? Eagerly awaiting your review. Hope you had a great weekend.

I ended up running 3 miles yesterday instead of anymore Tracey stuff. Today I am doing Cardio Coach 6 with Sean, L&G floorwork and a segment from stretchmax.

We sold our old van and of couse I can't find the title so I have to to the motor vehical dept. Yuk. Tonight is the first night of soccer. First year for DD4.

Enjoy your day.

I have good and bad days with the foot. The more I am on it the more it aches. By the end of the day Saturday it was hurting pretty bad. I was running errands and doing house work all day. I haven't tried bouncing around on it yet. I probably won't until it stops aching....

The Doctor had said it can take many weeks because I am on my feet so much it may take longer to fully heal.

Susan

Susan - It sounds like you have to be patient with your foot (I know, I know - easier said than done) but at least you have your elliptical. :)

Laurie - DD12 is home sick today with my DH, too. Must be something going around. She spent all day yesterday in bed with a 101 fever and even threw up which she's only done a handful of times in her short life. This morning her temp was 99 so lower but she's still not 100%.

Karen - Yes! :) I did Cardio Sweatfest (see below). Good luck at the DMV. Hopefully the lines will be short if you go during the day. How cute that DD4 will be starting soccer. They're so fun to watch at that age.

Well, I did Cardio Sweatfest on Saturday. Like most people, I have a mixed reaction. Pros: The music and energy of the workout was good. I burned a whopping 650 calories according to my HRM. My inner thighs are screaming today because of all the squats. I had no trouble at all following Tracey like I sometimes do with new instructors before you get used to their style. Cons: I felt awkward and in bad form during some of the combos because of the speed. The x block combos with the arms were way too complicated. I could figure them out at slow speed but trying to do these at double-speed was impossible. I gave up and just jogged in place. Even easy moves like side kicks felt awkward at double-time. A longer stretch at the end might have prevented some of my soreness. I also felt this workout didn't have much of a fun factor. Amy Bento's Kickbox Xtreme is a lot more fun to do despite her bad form. I didn't try the hi-lo but previewed part of it. Salsa is not my thing but it might be fun to try. It bugged me that the background exerciser on Tracey's right side was blocked by Tracey a lot of the time. I was looking for someone to follow and I thought her less dancey interpretation might be more my style. I wonder if this bugged anyone else or if it's just me.

Yesterday was Yoga X. This morning I slept in because as I mentioned, my inner thighs are screaming so there was no way I could do Legs & Back. I got up and looked at the outside temp but 33 sounded too cold for a walk or jog. DD is missing her door anyway (DH took it off to stain it) and she was sick yesterday so I didn't want to disturb her. I really want to do upper body so maybe I'll do something on my own tonight.

Enjoy the SUN today!

Sue

Sue, thanks for doing kickbox for me. I wish my inner thighs hurt when I was done with that workout. It really doesn't have much of a fun factor. Anyway, enjoy upper body if you get to it today. Hope DD12 gets better soon. Take care.

Morning BB's,

Today is suppose to be PlyoX, but I may consider subbing it for a Cathe today. I need to pick DD14 up from track and then DD10 needs to go to dance. How many of you are ready for summer vacation also. :D I'm going to be playing volleyball this year, but have decided not to participate in kickball.

Karen, I was running on my treadmill last week, only because it was so cold around here until Sunday. Yesterday I did get out and enjoy the lovely weather we had. You sure feel the difference in your legs after you run outside vs on treadmill.

Sue, Thanks for the review. One question I have from reading here and on VF, is the speed more like what Billy would do in the Tae Bo's? If so I may actually like it, but we will see. If I have some time tonight I may review this one.

Susan, Now I know that doing housework isn't good for my feet. :D I will use any excuse not to do housework. At least your foot isn't constantly hurting you. Keep going on that elliptical.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Good Morning All,

Today I did L&G standing, MM upper body premix, stretchmax and MM abs.

Laurie, sounds like you have a busy day. Your DD14 must be feeling better. Tracey's is fast like Tae Bo but it seems so repetitive it's just boring. I like Tae Bo workouts. Not that I hate Tracey's just don't think it's much fun. I know you didn't ask me and I am sure Sue will answer better.

Sue, is everyone well at your house again? Did you end up leaving work early yesterday?

Susan, glad your foot doesn't hurt you all the time.

The line was way to long at the DMV yesterday, so I will try again today. Good thing I have until Fri. to get it.

Have a great everyone.

Karen - Thanks for answering Laurie - I don't have Tae Bo so I can't compare. Coincidentally, DH and I were at Hobo Friday night shopping for our basement remodel when I spied a Billy Blanks Tae Bo VHS tape for $2.99. Anyone heard of Tae Bo Cardio? For that price I figure it was worth a shot. Haven't tried it yet. Yes, everyone is well again at our house (knock on wood!). I worked all day yesterday while DH took care of DD. DH didn't seem to mind at all staying home yesterday. In fact, I'd say he leaped at the chance because he had a lot of things he wanted to do around the house. Maybe today will be better at the DMV. They really ought to modernize and make some transactions available online. That's the computer geek talking.

Laurie - I'm willing to give Tracey another chance especially after reading about the jab, cross, hook, hook, upper, upper sub for the arms in combo 7 (or is that jab, cross, hook, upper, hook, upper?). You'll see why you may want to sub when you try it. Karen is right in that it is repetitive. Kind of reminds me of Kenpo X but
much, much more repetitive. Only 8 combos in an hour - that tells you something.

Hi, Susan!

Inner thighs STILL sore so did Kenpo X this morning. Tomorrow I'm thinking of substituting a B&G premix for Legs & Back but still doing ARX. I'm getting a little bored of some of the P90X workouts so for sanity sake (and my butt's sake which feels ignored with this rotation), I'm going to do B&G.

Sue

Hi There!Late checking in today!

I am going down right now to do "Extreme Heart Rate" workout on the Elliptical. It's been a crazy day. Lets see if I can get through this without interruption!

See you tomorrow! Susan

Morning BB's,

Today is Shoulders & Arms, B&G Stability Ball Abs, and a 2 Mile Run.

Karen, Thanks for the info on the comparision to Tae Bo. I will have to see if I can get that on in on Saturday. Just so many DVD's one can do and so little time. ;-)

Sue, Yes the repition part of P90X can really get to you. Subbing B&G is probably a good idea. Sometimes you just need the change. :)

Susan, Extreme Heart Rate, sounds like a great workout. Hope you got it in without interruption. I know how that goes. I had to do half a workout and then come back to it about 3 hours later to do the next half. :) Got the dang thing in though.

Yesterday I started my second half of plyoX off with Janis Saffell's Strike Zone. Not as intense as Cathe, but I felt a good sub for KenpoX. Of course I really enjoy KB, so maybe I'm not the best judge when it comes to this type of workout. :D :D :D

Have a great day!

Laurie

Good Morning All,

Susan, hope you got your workout in with no interruptions. It sounds like there really some great workouts on that elliptical. Enjoy.

Susan, Nice find on Tae Bo. They really are a good workout. I had an ab one once too. Boy it was hard. I guess thats why I didn't do it very often. You are doing a great job on the X. sub away so you keep with it.

Laurie, sounds like you are still hammering on your workouts. I am waiting to hear your response to Tracey's kickbox because you do like kickboxing so much. You are a great reviewer of exercise dvd's. Glad you got your workout out in yesterday, even though it had to get split up.

Today I did Cardio Coach #4 and repeated a challenge to make it a full hour with warm up and cool down. I never do the cool down, I use it as a time to finish my steady state to get time in. Still need to try Tracey's other workouts.

Have a great day everyone.

Susan - I love the names of your elliptical programs! :) Someone was having fun when they were coming up with those. Hope you got your workout in.

Laurie - I like Janis' Kickbox Strike Zone a lot for an easier day. That one would be great to do with a punching bag for those drills.

Karen - Great workout as always. :)

Did Butts & Gutts Leg Blast premix this morning. Oh my! It wouldn't surprise me if my whole lower half was sore tomorrow. P90X Legs & Back just doesn't come close to this one for leg and butt burn. Tonight is ARX plus my walk. Will have to bundle up again - cold & rainy here today - yuck!

Sue

Hi Ladies!:D

I have been crazy busy getting things done with family coming and running around for the kids etc..! I was so pooped last night I overslept this morning!

I have an art fair and book fair at the children's school tonight. I am hoping to squeeze in Pilates after that.

I did do Extreme Heart Rate the other night. It never fails to kill me. It says in the book it is designed for the "advanced - superior athlete". Well, I have a ways to go before I am "superior"! :p

Have a great day everybody!!

Susan

Morning BB's,

I am a happy camper today. All alone in my office. :D No boss or co-worker to make any noise. I have my radio up so I can actually hear it, and isn't background noise. They are about to interview my favorite driver in Nascar. :) Can today get any better. Ha!

Anyway today is YogaX for me.

Susan, You keep going on that Extreme Heart Rate and you will be a superior very soon. :D Have fun with your family.

Karen, Cardio Coach sounds like a great system. Some day I will have to try those out. Hope to get the Tracey KB in this weekend. :D

Sue, I agree with you on the punching bag for Strike Zone. Of course with the new Cathe workouts she is planning.... Another piece of equipment. Where will I put it. :7

Have a great day,

Laurie

Good Morning,

Today I am doing PUB and B&G leg blast and some abs.

I have to take 4 of the kids to the dentist today.

Susan, if you can do the workout you must already be a superior athlete. I wouldn't doubt it.

Laurie, I love Cardio Coaches. The time just flies by and I have never looked forward to doing a workout so much, except Cathe of course. I think you need a bag to add to your collection of exercise equiptment. One can never have to many exercise things.

Sue, How are you walking and sitting today. Did the blast get you? Did it continue to rain for your walk last night? That's so neat you are still doing that. Have you even missed a night since you started?

Take care eveyone and enjoy your day.

Oh, Laurie, enjoy your quiet day all alone in the office. What will you do besides listen to music and put your feet up. I would have put a smilie face there except I can't get them to work. I really am computer illerate.

Susan - That description of Extreme Heart Rate would scare me out of even trying it so kudos to you! Only about 7 weeks of school left and things should get less hectic, right? Maybe, maybe not.;-)

Laurie - I'd love to have a punching bag AND a fluidity bar AND a treadmill or elliptical AND a power tower AND whatever they come up with next! LOL DH would freak though since he's trying to figure out how to store what I already have so it's not sitting out all the time. So why are you all alone at work? Hope it's not because everyone else is at a conference in Florida and you were left behind to hold down the fort (or something like that). I love those days when it's emptier around the office, too. Really gives me a chance to concentrate and so much more relaxed.

Karen - Nope, I haven't missed a single day of walking yet this year.:) Trust me, there have plenty of days I've felt like blowing it off but I set this goal and plan to stick to it. Since this is day 109 according to my calendar here at work, I've walked AT LEAST 108 miles (1 mile a day). Since I did 2 miles a few times when I had extra time and energy the mileage is actually a little higher. I know there'll be days I miss when we're on vacation but I'll try to get a walk in somewhere else those days. I have a little DOMS in my butt from B&G but not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Sounds like you have a great workout planned today.

Did P90X Chest, Shoulders & Tris this morning. Starting week 7 already - hard to believe. I'm thinking about subbing 1 or 2 of the TLTs next week for Core Syn since they're both functional fitness types of workouts and I never gave the TLTs much of a chance. Tonight is ARX again plus my walk.

Sue

You know what Sue? I think I am going to see how long I can go with out missing a walking day. I try to take our dog every day for at least 30 minutes but I do allow things to stop me (weather, errands, housework). I took her to the vet this week and she's about 5 pounds over weight (90 pounds)!. So I am going to walk her extra and this will be a good thing to try for her and me!

Good Idea! Keep it up!

Susan

It's Friday! Yipee! And a beautiful day too!

Did the Elliptical for 40mns. This morning and walked for 30. This afternoon will be abs and chest.

Busy weekend ahead with family coming from out of town. However, Sunday should be quiet! Keep my fingers crossed!:p

Have a great day and weekend ladies! Susan
