Good morning!

Well, I made it through week 1 of P90X! :7 Kenpo X on Saturday was fun. Yesterday I counted and I did 250 pushups with Chest & Back :p . This morning was Plyometrics.

Will be back later to see how everyone's weekends went.

Sue

Wow Sue! 250 push ups?! Way to go! I hope you have fun with your new routine.

Saturday was SJ&P for me. Sunday ended up an OFF day.

Today is Bootcamp. I vow to make it through those "terminator" climbers even if it kills me. This is the only part of the workout that I hate. I just can't stand going back to them after she stops and does jumps in the middle then back down to the climbers. I don't like to go back to them!

Have a great Monday everyone! Susan

Morning,

Sue, thats great on the pushups. I wouldn't be able to count and do all those at the same time. Where you on your toes?

Susan, Have fun with Bootcamp. The climbers are the reason I never do the workout.

Hi Laurie, are you having fun with your new workouts?

I SH Chest/back, abs and criss cross cardio.

Have a good day everyone.

Hi BBs,
Just stopping by to say Hi to all.

Sue - great job with those pushups! How are you liking P90X?

Anyone ever hear from Cynthia?

Yep, 250 all on my toes.:) Now some of those like the diamond and military pushups are not very deep but I still count them.

I have to modify for the terminators in Bootcamp. I use a 4" step because otherwise it feels too hard on my back - guess my core isn't strong enough or something. I still get very winded though.

Hi, Marie! Great to hear from you again.

Off to lunch at Uno's today for a department lunch.

Sue

Hello BB's,

Today is SH Back & Biceps and Barry's BC Cardio from Shoulders and Back.

Marie, good to hear from you.

Susan, I can't stand when she goes back to the terminators either. I figure I'm done after the jumps, who wants to go back on the floor again.

Sue, Great job on the push-ups. I always counted the ones I couldn't get down all the way too. Tony says to! :D Have fun at Uno's.

Karen, I am trying one of Barry's cardio workouts today. I will let you know how it goes.

Have a choir concert to go to tonight (for DD13), but should be able to get my workout in before we have to leave. It isn't until 7:30.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Marie -

After using Cathe almost exclusively for my strength training for 7 years, it feels good to try a new style and instructor. I'm only on week 2 and I already feel stronger! (Is that possible?) I don't know if I'll lose much weight but hopefully I'll lose inches. I'm also kind of enjoying the break from so much cardio. Some people add in extra cardio but since I walk at least a mile every day and have since January 1 - just some weird New Year's goal I have - I feel that's enough "extra" cardio for me that keeps from being detrimental to the program.

Take care!

Sue

Hi there!

Well, I survived BootCamp so today is IMAX! I find this one harder than IMAX 2. Those plyo-scissors drive me crazy!

Hope you all have a great day! Enjoy our Spring like weather!

Susan

Susan - You're right - those plyo scissors in Imax are tough! I guess I'm in the minority though because I think Imax2 and 3 are tougher than the original.

Arms and Shoulders this morning for me. Tonight I'll do Ab Ripper X. I'm going to Oshkosh today for a presentation so not even going into the office. Hoping we get out early, too.

Loving this spring-like weather. DH and I took a 2 mile walk last night and it was so nice seeing everyone outside again after the winter hibernation.

Have a great day everyone!

Sue

Good Morning,

Susan, have fun with Imax. I think I will do that one today also. I like it the least of the Imaxes.

Sue, the spring weather is nice. It's so muddy and with the black ice it's hard to walk where we live.

Have a nice day.

Morning BB's,

Today is SH Legs/Ab Ripper X/Yoga. I have a Sara Ivanhoe (I think it's called) Target Yoga Zone. Anyway it has six different Yoga workouts on it. Says they are around 20 min long. But the run time on the DVD says 155 min. So either she is chatting a lot before the workout or some are longer than 20 min. Anyway I'm going to be trying one of these workouts today.

SH went well last night, and I found I could lift as heavy or heavier than Cathe could. :D I love progress!

Barry's Bootcamp cardio Shoulders and Back was actually a very good workout. Here are the different drills and then you repeat the whole sequence.

Running in place
Jumping Jacks
High Knees
Jumping Rope (all Jumping is done as if you where jumping rope)
Jump Forward and Back
Jump Right / Left
Jump Forward-Middle/Right-Middle/Back-Middle/Left-Middle
Jump on Right Foot
Jump on Left Foot
Alternate Jump from left to right
High Jump (This is feet shoulder width apart and then you jump as high as you can, land on your feet)
Squat for 30 seconds
Knee Repeaters

The whole cardio routine lasts 20 min. There are no breaks from running in place to the High Jump. By the time you are done with the jumping rope sequence your calf muscles are on fire. }( Reminded me of PlyoX, but without breaks.

Susan, Have a great time with Imax. I actually like that one the best. But I don't like the warm up. I always do the warm up from Imax2 and then go to the Imax interval section.

Sue, It was nice to wake up to warm weather this morning. I’m so glad I could get out that spring jacket. Hope you do get out early today, so you can enjoy the weather.

Karen, How was the criss-cross cardio. I have that one on my rotation.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Laurie, I liked criss cross cardio. Sometimes the counting is a bit off but I really enjoyed it. Not as hard as the ones you have been doing lately though. But I thought it was fun like KPC. Hope you like it. Tomorrow is the BBC from arms dvd for me. Thanks for the heads up.

Hello BB's! Sounds like we're all enjoying our workouts!:D

Today is Power Hour but I may switch it for MIS instead. Either way it'll be strength training.

I survived those darn plyo-scissors in IMAX yesterday but just by the slimmest margin! I hate them! I can do the scissors in CTX Kickbox without a problem but these are just awful! Whenever I finish this workout I wonder if Cathe is super human. She just doesn't seem tired to me! That's why she's Cathe and I'm not! :p

Have a great day! Susan

Morning BB's,

Today is SH Chest & Triceps.

SH Legs yesterday was really good and I went heavy. It was fun to revisit Ab Ripper X, still a very good workout. I purchased a Yoga DVD from Target, I did one of the workouts. 20 min long and it was called Lower Body Power. This one was a great stretch for the legs, figured it would be good for my legs after the Slow and Heavy.

I have come to find out that this Yoga DVD called Yoga Target Zone is actually the 20 Min Yoga Makeover set that Sara Ivanhoe sells on her web page for $40. I purchased it for $9.99. I like her personality, and so far the leg workout has turned into a great stretch. There are two discs, and each disc has a 4th option of playing all three workouts. So for that price I though I got a good deal, for a total of 9 workouts. :)

Susan, I really like MIS. I enjoy the shoulder workout, I think it is one of the few that she uses the barbell for doing overhead presses. That always gets my shoulders good.

Karen, Thanks for the info on criss-cross, now I might change my TaeBo for Saturday to that one. :)

Sue, Did you get out early yesterday to enjoy the weather. My DD's where outside until the sun went down. :D

Have a great day!

Laurie

Good Morning,

Susan, way to go on finishing Imax and living to tell. I haven't done MIS in forever. Actually I think I only did it once. I keep hearing what a good workout it is.

Laurie, Do you think your yoga target zone is more stretching than actual yoga? It sounds like you got a good deal. I wish we had a Target up here. I have to go to Eau Claire to shop there. Have you done any different ab workouts since you finished the X? How do you think they compare. I see better results when I use ab ripper X than most other ab routines.

Sue, I hear it was 70 down toward you. We didn't get that warm but I'll take it. Back to mid 30's today and rain and thunderstorms.

I ended up doing Imax 2 and stretch yesterday. Today I am doing SH tri/bi and spinning. I'd better get going if I want to get it done.

Have a great day everyone.

Karen, I'm thinking that if you do the 20 min. routines as is, they are more of a stretch. I'm going to try the 4th option on Sunday and see if this is more intense. I have to admit that as a stretch, I enjoyed this one way more than I enjoy Stretchmax. I will pull this DVD out when I need a stretch. The Lower Body Power was a great option for SH Legs, and would work very well after a run also. Just wanted to add on to the ARX question. I think ARX is the best ab workout available. I don't get the same feel in my abs from any other workout. I need to keep this one in my rotation, at least once a week. Ab Bootcamp from Billy Banks is good also. That one fired the oblique muscles pretty good.

Laurie

Got out a whole 5 minutes early yesterday but at least I was home 45 min. earlier than normal. Karen - Yes, it was 70 yesterday and it was wonderful. A little cooler in Oshkosh. We have more snow on the ground, too - even after 70 degrees yesterday. Today is cooler and it's supposed to rain. It's already so muddy around here that's the last thing we need. DS came home last night with his new sneakers all wet and muddy.x(

Ab Ripper X is an awesome ab workout! No other ab workout has me sweating and huffin' and puffin' by the end like that one. I feel the same way Tony does - "I hate it, but I love it."

Yoga X this morning. I never knew yoga could make me sweat so much. Can't wait for this one to get easier.

Hi there!

Well, so much for the Spring weather huh?!

Today is Step Works.

I ended up doing MIS yesterday. My biceps are sore today...and my chest,my legs ... good workout! I was trying to push myself and I think I succeeded!

Have a good day!

Susan

Morning BB's,

Workout today consists of CTX Kickbox cardio only, and a section of the Yoga Target Zone. I don't have much time tonight, DD9 has a concert. She has had her outfit picked for this night, since last week. :D

Susan, Way to push yourself on MIS. I have been doing the same thing with SH and have been having some great DOMS. :D

Sue, YogaX still makes me sweat. Once you get familiar with it you can start to get lower in the warrior posess to make it that much harder. }(

Karen, Yes we had a couple of nice days, today we are back to reality and wearing our winter coats. x( The wind is pretty intense today. Was walking to the building and my hair was flying into my face. I was thinking the guys in the warehouse must have thought I was cousing It. :7 Have a great workout today.

Have a great day!

Laurie
