BUFF BADGERS 10/27 - 10/31

Hi there ladies!

Well, it's the start of a new week! An awful chilly start if ya ask me!;) I had a pretty nice weekend. Had a long list of things to do and only got 1/2 way done but that's okay! Saturday I went for an hour walk with Ruby then the rest of the day I was running here there, everywhere! Sunday was church/Sunday school. Then we went to pick our pumpkins. I did my chores all afternoon. DH has added more crap to my workout area. Is the man ever going to learn? :p I am at the point where I just shake my head and walk away. It makes no sense to get angry about it!

Have you ladies every heard of or tried Teresa Tapp's exercise series called T-Tapp? I was talking to my friend over the weekend who is also Hypothyroid. She has lost 2 dress sizes in 6 weeks just by "T-Tapping". I got the book from the library which also has a short DVD with it. I tried some of the exercises also this morning and was surprised that I was really sweatin' by the end! However, Teresa suggests that for the 1st 4 weeks you do only her routines and nothing else. You can walk as much as you want but no additional exercise. I decided after I was sweating this morning I'd give it a try. You really need to focus on your alignment and stance. I felt it in areas I normally wouldn't. I'll let you know how it goes! I figured since I don't have my exercise area right now anyway, it's as good a time as any!:p

Hope you area all doing well and staying healthy!

Susan

Morning BB's,

Todays workout was a 2 mile run, P90X Chest & Back (half) and Ab Ripper 200.

DD15 missed going to state by one runner. She was just devastated, but she will be going with the girl on her team who came in 1st. Also the boys team is going because they came in 2nd at the meet. Sunday we went to see the Milwaukee Ballet perform Sleeping Beauty. Overall it was a wonderful show, with minimal sceen changes. The men in the performance where not all together, but the important parts of Aurora, Prince Desire, Lilac Fairy and Carabosse where done really really well. :D

Susan, Yes it is chilly today! I have heard of T-Tapp, but don't know to much about it. Will be interested in how you like it. ;) What! Your workout area is not to be disturbed! What is he thinking by adding stuff to it! Non-exercise probably! LOL!

Have a great day!

Laurie

Hi BB's,

Today I did Kettlebell Way, Turbo Jam, the leg section from Squeeze.

Did a lot of raking over the weekend. Went to DS basketball tryouts and DD basketball game. Had a harvest dinner after church and then did some laundry. Uneventful.

Susan, sorry your workout area is being disturbed. I have seen lots of threads on video fitness website about T-Tapp. I have never read any of them though. Let us know how they are. So you can get the T-Tapp program or just some exercises from the library?

Laurie, sounds like the ballet was a good time. Sorry DD didn't get to go to state. Is she an alternate like last year? Are you running on your treadmill again?

I just looked out and it is snowing. Yuk! I am not ready for that.

Sue, did you find all the costumes you need? Hope you got your workouts in.

Dani, are you feeling better and ready to get back to P90X? I hope so.

Lala, Hope you had a good weekend.

Have a good day.

Susan - I've *heard* of T-Tapping but don't have a good picture in my head what you do. Can you describe?

Laurie - DD has a bright running career ahead of her despite missing going to state by 1 runner! Ooh! That must be hard.

I did GS-BSB on Saturday and Gilad Fat Burning Workout on Sunday. This morning was GS Legs Timesaver #2. Took a nap yesterday afternoon with our sweet female kitty. She likes to snuggle under the covers with us when we sleep. :D

Today is my last day off. Sooo sad, but I really needed it. I don't feel 100% yet but alot better. I am going to try to do core syn. today and see how it goes. Dinner at McCormicks and Schmicks was wonderful. I had Mahi Mahi and it was just to die for. Dh had Bouillabaisse and he said it was very good. Perfect portions that left room for an appetizer or dessert. We also had a dozen oysters on the half shell. Mmmmm It was nice

Sunday we did lots of raking. It looked nice for a day but the wind blew everything around and more leaves down. Oh well.

Susan I have never heard t-tapp so let us know how it goes. I hope everyone is doing well and is able to get there workouts in.

I'm back! Busy day but it's almost over. Need to take DD11 to confirmation this evening.

Karen, Teresa Tapp has a book called "Fit & Fabulous in 15mn". It comes with an basic DVD. I was able to get it through our library system. I also went to her web site where she has videos you can demo as well. That's www.ttapp.com

It is basically a series of exercises using specific movements and breathing. She has a certain stance you must do for the exercises. Back straight, shoulders back and down, tush tucked and tight, knees bent and angled to the baby toe. You have to keep your legs going forward while making your knees angle to the outside. You can really feel it along the outside of your leg. I found a few videos on e-bay I am thinking of getting too.

Gotta go make supper! Have a great night!

Oh! I can't believe I saw SNOW today!!

Hi all! glad to be able to make it here tonight! Today I did Imax 3. This weekend I did a 3.5 mi. run and like almost everyone else, raked leave! I really enjoy that, though  go figure! I do rake according to the wind, and hope that some of them end up in the neighbors´yard  But, I get it from the other neighbors! Tomorrow it´s GS Chest and Tris. Had a birthday last week and it was my "fitness" bday...got new w/o clothes and Zumba. Have any of you tried it? DD19 does a class and likes it. It combines latin dance with moves for a workout. Haven´t really tried it yet, but I love to dance, so at least is should be fun!

Susan, you have a good attitude about your workout area!
Laurie, don´t you just love the ballet? I try to go to see some show at Christmas, lots of times it´s just local companies, but nice nonetheless. I feel bad for your DD, but she did so well she has lots of chances in her furture
Karen, It snowed a little here today, too. Just enough to remind us that winter is coming :(
Hi Sue and Dani.

Hey there! Another cold day here! Yikes! Puts a little extra pep in my step when I walk!:D Walked with Ruby for 30mn then did some T-Tapp for 30mn and will do more later. This morning I really feel it in my rear and outer thigh area, which is good!

Have to take DS to Tae Kwon Do tonight and he needs to finish a book report. My DD and I are both avid readers. We just love it! My DH and DS are not. They read magazines, not books!:p So DS has to do a book report every month this school year and he is not happy! I am hoping he will learn to love it and not find it to be "a chore". He just needs to find that one book that will hook him in. He read a "Goose Bumps" book for this report and I don't think he was really able to get into it. Oh well,we'll try again next month!

Have a great day! Susan

Morning BB's,

Todays workout was 1:1 Plyo Legs.

Karen, For cross country you can go as an individual or as a team. The girls didn't make it as a team, and there was only one or two runners in front of her that where going as a team, so she just missed out. She is still going, but as moral support for her friend. Yesterday she was the only one of her teammates that was running with the girl who came in 1st. Yep I'm back to running on the TM, but I have been doing some of my runs with the dog in the afternoon. Right now it is just so cold! ;)

Sue, LOL about the snuggling kitty. :) Cami just isn't a snuggler! LOL! :D She sure does try though!

Dani, You dinner sounded really good, well except for the oysters! LOL! :D Hope you get to 100% soon.

Lala, I always get excited when the wind starts blowing those leaves into the neighbors yard too! LOL  I'm awful, but I don't enjoy racking leaves.

Susan, Sometimes the reading comes with age too. I never liked to read until I got into HS! Yes it took that long! LOL :D But now you can find me curled up with a book. My parents actually had to tell me to stop reading so much. LOL! But you are right the perfect book will someday catch him good!

Have a great day!

Laurie

Hi BB's,

Today I plan on some cardio, haven't figured out what it will be yet. Just got back from taking DD to the ortho.

Lala, Happy belated birthday! Hope you like your Zumba workout. You got some great workouts in over the weekend.

Laurie, it is so great your daughter's friend has a good friend for moral support. Have fun with Tony.

Susan, I looked at clips on youtube from t-tapp, I tried some of them as she went, she has a neat personality. On one exercise, my arms and legs were going in all different directions. I have to get my left and right side of my brain working together. It looks like a good thing to get results from if you do it right. I am not sure I could pay so much attention to form as is required for t-tapp. Who knows. I may watch more and try some more of them. Enjoy.

Sue, must have posted around the same time yesterday. It is nice you got a nap in with your kittty. How long is the timesaver premix on GS Legs?

Dani, how was going back to work after your time off? Did you end up doing cor. syng.?

Have a great day.

Karen - I'm going to guess the GS Legs premix I did was about 48 min. I had to make sure I didn't take too long with equipment changes or water breaks or I'd be late for work! LOL at your arms and legs going different ways doing T-Tapp! I think I'd be the same way. :)

Susan - DD is an amazing self-taught speed reader. She can finish most books in 1-2 days including Harry Potter. And she comprehends, too. I'm a very slow reader with a weakness for historical Scottish romances. There, I gave away my secret! :p

Lala - You reminded me it's been a long, long time since I last did Imax3. I ought to try it again real soon. Major calorie burner. I like raking leaves, too - for the 1st 30 min.! :p Oh, and only on a perfect sunny, autumn day - not too hot, not too cold. Just right. :)

Dani - Hope you're feeling better. I tried oysters once and was neutral on them. The rest of your meal sounds great. Where is McCormack & Schick's? (spelling?)

Laurie - That's neat that your DD is going to state to support her friend. Is she going to do anything now that CC is over to stay in shape? Will you have to fight her for treadmill time? ;) Did you ever post pics from the wedding?

Well this morning I SLEPT IN! Yes, I was lazy (and tired). The kids are off Wed-Fri so I figure I'll have time to workout at night which will be nice. DH and DD leave for Atlanta tomorrow to visit DH's sister and her family. This was the trip he was supposed to take over the summer before he broke his elbows. It'll be just DS and I for a few days! :)

Good Morning,

Yesterday I ended up doing Kettlebell Way and KPC. Today I plan on SH chest and back. It's been a while since I have heavied up. I know have 4 pounds to lose. Can't figure out what to change to lose it.

We watched one of DH friends kids because his dad was having neck surgery last night. He rode the bus home and spent the night. Other DS's had a couple of friends over after school also to play football. They had a bonfire with marshmallows. Busy night.

DD got her bottom braces off yesterday. She has a retainer in now, they say she has to wear it forever. Does that make any sense to you? I can see it until her top braces come off as her teeth are still moving but again, I am confused.

Sue, It is nice DH and DD can go visit DH sister. Why isn't DS going? I know you visited with them a while ago when you were on one of your business trips. It is neat that DD is such an avid reader. Two of my sons won't pick up a book for anything. Two other kids are in Reach Literature and the other reads a lot also. I guess 4/6 isn't bad.

Hi to Laurie, Susan,Lala, and Dani.

Have a good day all.:)

;)Hi everyone! Today is Friday for me since the kids do not have school Thurs or Friday! Makes me Happy!:D Went for a 30mn walk and did T-Tapp exercises for 30mn this mornig. Will do more later as well. All I can say about this workout? My Butt Hurts! LOL!

Sue, one of the best trips I ever took was when I was a Senior in HS. My Dad and I drove to Atlanta for my Uncle's wedding. We did a lot of talking about life on that trip and its stuff that really stuck with me. I hope your DH and DD enjoy their time. You and DS will have to do something fun while their gone!

Karen, I have never heard about having to wear a retainer for life? Maybe he mis-spoke and meant to say somthing else!

Enjoy the day! Susan

Hi Dani!
HI Lala!
Hi Laurie!

Morning BB's,

Todays workout was a 5 mile Tempo Run. Want to get in P90X Shoulders & Arms plus some ab work later tonight.

Karen, I have a friend who still uses her retainer. So having it for life might be correct. But then when you are 80 years old, would you really care if your teeth are straight! LOL!

Sue, DD15 will be staying after school and run with the girl that she is going to state with. She is also going to be working with one of her coaches on her Language Arts homework. She wants to use the weight room too. She has enough time until I am able to get to the school to pick her up. :D LOL! She wants to be in shape for track season, which starts in March! LOL! My reading lately has been romance novels that are set in the late 1800's. So I have been reading a lot of westerns. LOL! I like Elizabethan Romance novels too! Hope your DH and DD have a great time together.

Susan, It is Friday for me to, because I am taking off of work. Just feel like I need some extra time off!

Have a great day!

Laurie

Karen - DS didn't go mainly because of the expense of 3 airfares. I think DH wanted this to be a special trip for him and DD, too (Daddy-Daughter bonding).

Laurie - It's nice your DD can hang out at school until you can pick her up. DD has this dilema with Drama Club right now. They essentially "kick out" the kids from the school after their activities are done and since DD has missed the bus, she needs to either walk home or find another ride. She tried taking the city bus yesterday but thought she missed it and ending up walking. I've got to try to arrange a ride somehow.

Last night I did a 2 mile jog/walk (mostly walk) and this morning I did Push Pull. DH baked a pie last night to bring to Atlanta and I'm still waiting to hear if he made it past security. He joked about having to eat the whole thing before getting on board. :p

Wow this has been a busy week in Badger-land...and it´s only Wed :D
Today I did GS Chest and Tris and after school a 2mi run. My hip is doing much better simply with some stretching:)

Laurie, DD is really a go-getter! I wish I had time for novels. I´m taking a class (yea, online right now again!) and my reading is basically for that

Karen, I have looked at kettleballs, but they look like they would just take out a shoulder  so how are they used? And, yes, you could need a retainer "for life" and it´s pretty important she use it, otherwise her teeth could shift. LOL Laurie for the 80 yr old with the retainer :D

Sue, glad DH and DD can make this trip. There are times that it is so nice to be alone with our DC! So you can have "special time" with DS. And how is DH doing now with the elbows? That´s so cute the he baked a pie ;). Of course the big question is WHAT KIND

I ,too, have off tomorrow and Friday :D:D. Going to pick up DD19 at college and just relax.

Hi to Dani and Susan!

Goood Morning,

Today I am going to spin or run to CC7 and do abs of some sort.

Lala, good to hear from you. Glad your hip is doing better. Did you do the therapy with the trainers? Why did she even have the braces if now her teeth may shift without a retainer? Kettlebells do not hurt the shoulder. I found they actually make mine feel better. I only have one dvd and it has 14 rounds of different exercises. It's a fun, tough workout, especially when you skip the 1 min rest time. I hope to work up to not just skipping the rests, but doing jump rope, running or burpee like exercises in between. Have a nice time with DD.

Sue, glad DH and DD can get some quality time together. It is nice he made a pie to bring. Do you think it will make it there? Nice job on your run/walk. Enjoy your time off and have fun with DS.

Laurie, nice job on the workout. Are you still doing 1/2 of P90X? Are you doing something fun on your time off?

Susan, glad you butt hurts. I am going to the library here to see if we have the book. I am guessing we don't but maybe they can get it by interlibrary loan or something. How is you clean eating coming?

Hi Dani.

Enjoy the day. It is suppose to get to 65 here today.

Hi everyone!

DH called yesterday to let me know he, DD AND the apple pie all made it safely to Atlanta. :) So if any of you ever get the inclination to bring a pie onboard an airplane, you know now that it's okay. ;) Of course, me, being the plan ahead type of person (as most women are!) would have called the airline BEFORE making the pie to make sure it didn't go to waste or sit in my car trunk for 3-4 days.

DS and I rented a movie last night called "Vantage Point". Excellent movie if you've never seen it. It's about an assasination attempt on the President of the United States shown over and over from different people's "vantage point". It's really interesting the way it keeps building and building with more information revealed each time.

No workout yet today. I read on a thread in OD on middle age how pre-menopausal women need more sleep as their bodies go through hormone changes and I think that's my problem. I used to get by on 6 hours of sleep and now I need 7-8.

I'm off tomorrow! :D :D :D Probably my last day off other than Thanksgiving and Christmas until March 1 so I'd better enjoy it!

Hello Everyone,

Glad to hear everyone is getting there workouts in. I started on Tues. this week. I have done Core Syn and Cardio X. Today will be chest, shoulders and tri's along with ab's. I have to say I am a bit sore since I took a week off. I feel so much better. Gotta go I will check in later.

Hi there! Sorry I forgot to check in today! I was busy! Ruby and I had a nice 45mn walk and then I did T-Tapp for an hour. In the book it tells the "advanced exerciser" to do T-Tapp for 14 days straight and then switch to every other day for 14 days. I really feel it in my core because a lot of her movements require balance. Also through out her moves you must keep proper alignment (tummy in,tush tucked, knees to little toe) There is alot of thinking goin on! ;)

I had to go way out in the boonies this afternoon to pick up my DH's elk meat. Never been out that far! Then I took his chain saw in to get a tune-up! When we got home I lugged all the meat down stairs (about 200#'s) I have a feeling my back is going to be achin' tomorrow! The kids are excited about Halloween!!

See ya later- Susan
