The old series, volumes 1-3 are available on DVD for about $20! Which is fantastic. I know he can go "on and on and on" with his chatter, but the original series are really very good. Well recommended. Plus the people are all beautiful and gorgeous, so something to look at if nothing else!!!

I love these practices too! The DVD is available at DeepDiscountDVD for a little more than $13 (including shipping) and contains all three volumes. A huge caveat: I inquired about the chaptering at VF and someone replied it had NONE! (I kind of anticipated this because of the price.)

I would gladly pay twice as much for the DVD if it were well-chaptered. I just don't get it. Why bother putting it on DVD if you're not going to chapter it? So you don't have to press the rewind button when you're done?

I was waiting for these to be put on DVD for a long time but I don't think I'll buy them now. Picture clarity and taking up less shelf space are not why I buy DVD's. Sigh...

I think Cathe has spoiled all of us for the chaptering aspect alone of exercise DVD's. Kest just lost a sale with me too on those DVD's.

Well now I have no interest in them either..LOL. Thanks for the heads up!! It is very important to me to have a DVD well chaptered. Cathe has spoiled us indefinitely!!

Aila:)

I don't care about the chaptering ... i care about the workout in general. I wouldn't want to really mix and match with yoga, too much over stretching on certain muscle groups, etc... but the picture quality is great and the workouts are very good also.

I don't think you should be put off by the lack of chaptering on this DVD because the routines flow in such a way that breaking them up wouldn't really work. I think the poses are sequenced for a reason. There are some yoga routines that I feel would chapter well, but the moves in these really build on the previous ones. Just my opinion. My understanding is that each workout is chaptered, just not the moves within.

The reason I'm not buying them is because I already own them on VHS and a non-chaptered DVD would be redundant. I love these practices and do recommend buying them if you don't own them already.

However, if you've never done yoga before, I wouldn't recommend this DVD until you've learned more about yoga, because some of the participants are EXTREMELY flexible and Bryan encourages you to arch your back, tilt your head way back, etc., which I wouldn't recommend a beginner do. Most of the participants are doing just that, so a beginning home user might follow their lead and get injured (no matter how fit s/he is).

For a fit Catheite who's new to yoga, I highly recommend Eoin Finn's Power Yoga for Happiness. The practice is around 85 min as produced but is well-chaptered and contains five differents workouts from the same footage, each with a different emphasis. The yoginis show a variety of levels and the workout really does make you happy somehow!:) I think it's around $20 and well worth it.

Soosan, I really appreciate your comments.

I have been thinking of purchasing a yoga workout. I love cardio and have never incorporated any stretching into my workouts until recently when I started the Slim Series rotation, which has a one hour stretching DVD in it. I have looked into Bryan Kest but now I will consieder Eoin Finn. Is there any reason that you recommend Power Yoga for Happiness over his other yoga DVDs?
