Bringing up the Rear Check-In

Last night was Legs & Glutes. I like that workout except 2 things. 1) the 96 inner thigh lifts per leg at the end (CRAZY!) and 2) Cathe’s hair is not in a ponytail. She has to be hot with her hair down like that. It kind of drives me crazy. Anyway, I am over it now and my inner thighs are so far surviving.

Good for you for listening to your body. I know how hard it is to do that. I am really enjoying this new series. Cathe did a great job on these. Is it crazy of me to wonder what she is cooking up for her next series?

Last night I did FlexTrain (no abs). This is the second time I have done this workout. The first time I did it, I wasn’t too fond of it but I really liked it last night. It kind of reminded me of RWH UBC but lighter on the cardio with no high impact. My shoulders were screaming at me after the first section. Have a great day!
 
Last night I did RWH LIHI Legs! I really, really like that one. Even though it is tough and I have to take extra pauses here and there, it goes by fast and I feel thoroughly worked. So happy today is Friday. I am taking a half day from work because I need to take Maggie to the vet. She can’t go up and down the stairs anymore which is a problem since our bedroom is in the basement level of our house and everything else is upstairs. We bought an air mattress so I can sleep upstairs in the living room with her.

I couldn’t believe how much shoulder work is in FT. It was crazy and needless to say my shoulders were crying and she kept piling it on. L&G is on the same disc as Kick Punch Crunch. It is a good leg workout. There are a few plyo burts (scissors and plié jacks) but not too much and easily skipped. Chest is a good one to do if that is all you had time for. A lot of those exercises also use the shoulders and triceps so you got those a little.

Saturday I did Ride Extreme, ran errands, and did chores. Sunday was Get Glutes strength, some laundry, and being lazy. Now it is back to Monday and work. Every weekend I tell myself I need to schedule a Monday off so I can have a nice long weekend to relax. Have yet to do it.

Maggie is about 12. We really are just guessing because she was picked up by the shelter as a stray. She has had a tough life. When the shelter found her she had a hole in her side from an animal attack filled with maggots. She was trying to nurse puppies but sadly they died. The shelter tested her and found she had Lyme, heartworms, giardia, and hookworm. She has 3 fused vertebrae in her back, hip dysplasia, and arthritis in her elbows. She doesn’t look so hot when she walks but she is a trooper and carries on. Found out on Friday she has a bladder infection but they did up her pain meds. Luckily she still is not maxed out on them. Sorry for the ramble there.

Good job for quiting early when you felt your back talking to you. I cannot believe how much snow the east coast in general has gotten. Do you know how much cumultative you have gotten this year? Has to be some kind of record.

Last night I did AOLIH + Core 1. I don’t feel like I slept well last night. I am pretty tired. Hopefully I won’t need to use my brain too much at work today.
That is a lot of snow! I bet your kids are loving playing in it. Are they sledding down the mountain or just climbing up and down it? I like the idea of doing a rotation. I am a planner though and need to have my workouts scheduled and written down. You are doing good enough I think you know when you need to modify something. Hope you got back to a normal day after the late start.

Last night I did Lower Body Blast! Forgot how tough that one is. The elevated lunges go on forever. They start out easy and then before you get halfway through you are crying. Another night of not so good sleep. Ozzie has decided that he needs to start whining for breakfast about an hour before my alarm goes off.

I like RWH LI2 but I don’t think it is as intense as most hiit workouts. I could definitely see doubling it to increase the intensity. I felt my glutes yesterday from AOLIH which is weird for me because I normally don’t feel them from cardio workouts. Subbing a barbell is great. I feel I can go heavier with a barbell than dumbbells. Plus as you said so much easier getting into position than with dumbbells. I am not a fan of Tubobarre either. Maybe XTrain Legs would be a good substitute. Hope you got better sleep last night.

Last night I did PUB (no abs). I started out heavier on the chest superset but on the way back down the pyramid I had to lighten up. I forgot how those add up. I guess you are doing 62 reps per exercise. Ozzie did better this morning and only started whining about 25 minutes before the alarm was set to go off. Maggie on the other hand decided she wanted to lick her paws all night long. Maybe I should look into getting earplugs.

Ugh! I hate it when I can’t get back to sleep. I am up at least once sometimes three times in the middle of the night for my bladder and sometimes have the problem where I can’t get back to sleep. Hope you get better sleep tonight. AT is fun and goes by fast. The first half is really high heart rate work. I think it tends to slow down a little towards the end but still great work. Good luck on whatever you choose to do today. I don't remember seeing that email about glute training at home. Maybe I will check my spam or his blog and see if I can find anything.

Last night was RWH LBC! So much fun and goes by so fast. I could almost see myself doing that one weekly. So happy it is Friday.

Oh yes the licking is the worst. Like nails on a chalkboard. And just as I would start to fall asleep she would start licking again. Last night was better. Your mish mash sounds good. I can definitely see TB not being good for the low back. Until you reminded me how she leans against the bar, I hadn’t thought of that.

Saturday was Cycle Max Extreme followed by spending $700 on a tune up for my car and my heat still doesn’t work. :mad: Then errands and chores. Sunday was Get Glutes strength and finishing up laundry and being lazy. Did not get good sleep last night and I am really feeling the Monday morning blues right now. :(

That’s awesome that CSS went so well. It is scary how fast you lose pushup strength when you stop doing them. That’s the good thing about rotations, it makes you do workouts you wouldn’t normally pick. When I create my own rotations, I tend to stick to the workouts I like the most so I miss out on some of the ones that are challenging that I need to do.

Last night I did 40/20 and attempted the abs from PUB. I got to the plank/knee-ins/pikes section and was pooped out. I got a few sloppy pikes done and called it quits. Much better sleep last night. I did wake up about an hour before my alarm went off this morning and couldn’t really get back to sleep but until then it was fabulous.

Wow vacation for a whole week. Do they get Spring break in March/April too? That is so cute and fun that they did the workout with you. Maybe you can get them to do that all week. Hope you find willpower to eat better. It is tough especially when others around you are eating fun things. I don’t think my thermostat is stuck. I do get luke warm air so it does defrost my windows it just doesn’t warm me up from the single digit temps.

Last night I did Pyramid Lower Body! Loved it. Of course I have to pause to change my weights because try as I might I cannot change them as lightning fast as Cathe and crew. The inner thigh work on the ball nearly killed me.

I love that you are working out with your kids. Are they excited? I don’t even use Dixie cups. The fan blows them all over my floor so I stopped using them but try to make sure I go as low/deep/far as I would if they were there. Have fun with S&G!

Last night I did RWH UBC scrambled premix! Fun, fun, fun! This morning woke up to about 3-4 inches of icky snow. It wouldn’t be so bad if they plowed the roads.

PLB is good but it is a lot of leg presses, static lunges, squats, plies, and deadlifts. Then floor work with the ball. I actually used the step for the bridges during the floorwork because the ball just doesn’t let you focus on the glutes. I love your kids getting involved in your workouts. Did you have enough discs for them to use or did you use paper plates or towels?

Last night I did CLB! It was a blast of course. So happy it is Friday. I have a lot to do today at work so hopefully the day will fly by.

After I posted that yesterday about the snow, I thought I had no place posting that with all the snow you have gotten. 3-4” is a nothing to you. Have fun skiing. Definitely sounds more fun the TB!

Saturday morning I did Pedal Power Extreme and then ran errands and did chores. Sunday morning was Get Glutes strength, laundry, and laziness. I can’t believe it is Monday again already. Last night I did RWH Low Impact 2 & 1 + abs 2. I was just going to do LI 2 and abs 2 but tacked on LI 1 because I just don’t feel these LI HiiTs are very intense. The plyos are a different story. We got an ice storm last night and when I woke up, I had a message from my company that they were delaying opening until 9. That was only 2 hours delay but I’ll take it. I got to sleep another hour.

Sorry your week off with your kids flew by. Always seems to go that way. Work week lasts forever and weekends and vacations fly by faster than you remember. I would love to love my job. People who do are so lucky but most of us just have to settle for a job that pays the bills.

Last night I did Leaner (Meaner) Legs. I skipped the abs since I did them Monday but I added on GS Legs Floorwork because I didn’t feel like my hamstrings, glutes, or outer thighs were worked enough in LL. It seemed like the perfect add on. Need to remember that for the future. Oh I was happy to get that extra hour sleep for sure. I really love the RWH LIHI Legs. I think Cathe hit the nail on the head with this series. Have a great day!
 
Last night I did Supersets Upper Body Blast. It was fun and went by fast. So happy it is Thursday. The weekend is almost here!

Hope you had a great upper body workout. I am always in awe of people who can do their own thing without a rotation to follow. I may not use Cathe’s rotations but I have to have something on the calendar each day or I will stand there staring at my workout room not knowing what to do.

Last night I did RWH LBC Scrambled. I think I love this one a little more each time I do it. For some reason I felt really energized during the workout. I didn’t have to pause as much and everything just felt a little easier (not easy just easier by a teeny tiny amount). I decided to take a long weekend. I am leaving work early today and taking all day Monday off. So if you don’t hear from me Monday that is why.

I love AOLIH! I don't know that I really consider it hiit work intensity-wise but I love how my lower body feels really worked out from it. It is very lower body intensive. Hope your back is doing better today. Do you go back to the doctor anytime to see how the shots worked?

This weekend I took a leap and decided to start STS. I normally skip meso 1 because I can’t stand all the pushups but I decided to suck it up and do it. Saturday was disc 1 (with 152 pushups) and then cleaning and errands. Sunday I did a heavy strength for legs and then laundry. Yesterday I took a vacation day from work and slept in to make up for the hour lost this weekend. I did get Imax in though.

I can imagine it will be a life long journey for you figuring out what you can and cannot do. You have all the tools though to get through it intelligently. It looks like those shots did something even if it didn’t take the pain away completely making it tolerable is something.

Last night was disc 3 legs! I love the meso 1 legs workouts. Oh who am I kidding, I love all the legs workouts. My sister also stopped over and dropped her French Bulldog off. We are dogsitting for a few days while she and her DH go to Mexico. Lucky girl!
