I did Spinervals Lean & Mean today for the first time, and our own Brenda ( or I shoud say, Cathe's own Brenda) was in it. What a girl! She is a superb spinner too.
BTW, this DVD and Couch Troy simply ROCKS. I'm so happy that I bought it. Better than my old favorite Jay Blahnik! Mari

You own a spinbike? I'm so jealous!

That sounds like a great DVD. I mean if Brenda is in it it has to be!

cute work out clothes are good for AT LEAST an additional 10-15 calories burned!

I like Enter the Red Zone a lot. I have Lean & Mean, but haven't done it yet, so I can't compare them. I think it's a lot of fun and Troy seems a little more relaxed in this workout - like he's having more fun. There's a lot of variety in it and I find it very challenging.

I have "Enter the Red Zone with Team Video Fitness". It's fun to see some people you "know" on a video but it's not my favorite Spinerval. Like most Spinervals, it's interval training but Coach Troy doesn't allow the riders to recover after the high intensity work. He actually seems pleased that they're still at 85% or higher during recovery.

I don't get the iso squats. You get off your bike after an interval, do some pulsing squats for awhile (ok so far) & then freeze at the low end for awhile. My heart rate just plummets which seems like a good way to drop over. I modify.

Finally, one should be familiar with good spinning technique because the camerman keeps focusing on a rider who is not using enough tension. Her legs are flying & her butt is bouncing on the seat. Troy corrects her several times, but there's still a lot of footage of this rider which someone might try to emulate if they didn't know better. You don't bounce on the seat if you're using enough tension.

Brenda has beautiful cycling form. She looks very strong.

I agree about the iso squats. I think there are two separate sets in ETRZ. I usually just fast forward over them or I stay on the bike during those sections and do my own thing. I like iso squats, but not during a spinning workout.
