Hi everyone! I hope you will forgive me for posting this here, but it is an issue I feel very strongly about, and since it does concern a health issue that may affect you or someone you love in the future I hope you won't mind. Under the current healthcare system, sometimes insurance companies classify masectomies as out-patient surgeries and don't even provide patients with an overnight stay. The petition I am asking you to sign would help to pass a law that would require insurance companies to provide a mandatory 48 hour stay. My mother passed away from breast cancer about 4 years ago, but she had a masectomy prior to her death. As anyone who has had such a surgery, or knows someone who has, it is definately not a minor procedure and certainly should not be considered an out-patient surgery.
