*Breaking news in Toronto*

There was a passenger plane that crashed or had a *rough* landing. It's on fire and there is no word on any distress signals or of any casualties.

Dani,

According to Shelley's Bio in the Road Trip book she lives in Hamilton, Ontario (unless you know something new) which is approx 43 miles from the Toronto Airport.

I got this info from the Hamilton Site:
http://map.hamilton.ca/Hamilton_Dist.asp

Still it's too close for comfort!

They Still have no word on Casualties. Yes Prayer is needed!

I am watching this on CNN. It looks like a serious serious plane crash. Fire is involved and that is always devastating in a plane crash.

My DH flies a lot with his job (heading out tomorrow for NY for an overnight, just got back on Sunday from Australia). I HATE hearing about problems with planes. Those poor people. I hope they get out okay.

There were no casualties, just some minor injuries. The pilot was taken to hospital.

Eyewitnesses are saying that it appeared that lightning hit the plane just before it crashed. We're having wicked thunderstorms here this afternoon, and many flights were already grounded because of the weather. They've closed the airport to all other traffic now and are diverting planes to Ottawa.

This makes me not want to fly ever ever again.:-(

Oh, thanks so much Shelley for letting us know! I hear you about not wanting to fly!

I am glad no one was seriously injured. I know what you mean about the flying thing. I fly out to san diego on the 25th. O course we hear more about car crashes then planes.

Thank God nobody was hurt. I heard this story this afternoon on NPR. My heart sank. I am so happy everybody is OK.

Shelley, I see your fat loss rotation is going well. I have decided to try to run again, alternating with Cathe. I might try to fit myself in at the personal goals check-in.

Lori

Truly miraculous that all 309 passengers and crew survived.

Shelley - if you think you're scared to fly now, try sitting next to Dani on a flight. :p My hand is STILL bruised!!!
