Boyfriend/husband

My husband used to. Then I challenged him to complete an old Gin Miller tape. End of ridicule. He couldn't finish it and he couldn't believe how hard it was and he is a runner.

He also used to have a crush on Michelle from one of Jane Fonda's old step tapes. He would come in and watch her!

Now I am pretty cut and kick his butt on anything except cycling. Again, end of jokes!

Sometimes my husband makes fun of me when I am doing step aerobics but I tell him that if he tried to do one of Cathe's workouts he wouldn't last five minutes. When he says whatever and I challenge him on it and he says no, I just say that's what I thought now zip it!! Then he doesn't say anything for a while. He knows these workouts are hard though he just especially laughs at some of the older workouts where Cathe and crew are wearing the thong type outfits.

My husband, who doesn't workout at all, will give me pointers as to how to do the moves the right way. This is infuriating. Melissa

Melissa, my husband does the same thing!!x( It's got to the point where he is not "allowed" near me when I'm working out. He knows better!}(

My DH never picked on me. He encourages me!

He basically TOLD me I'm going on the Road Trip this summer if Cathe has one! :+

:) As Shelley stated, my boyfriend also values his life and doesn't really comment.

Although lately I've really come into my own and have started to show lots of results. He encourages me more because he also benefits from my results. }(

Hey if he makes fun of you make him do any one of Cathe's workouts and see how far he gets. That will shut him up :7

My DH is great about it. He really doesn't make fun of it at all. He once asked how I didn't trip over my feet because it looks hard. I thought that was nice.

I just wanted to commiserate with Melissa. While my DH is great, my dad is a pain in the butt. I brought Kick Max and KPC to my parent's house at christmas time so that I could get some working out time. Their house is small and so everyone could see what I was doing. My dad made some comment about my kicks not being as high as the instructors and my punches being girly. EW!

I think I would be too emabarassed to do it in front of everyone. Unless I could talk someone into trying it with me. Good Ol' Dad!! Mine would probably tell me I look as good as the girls on tv. HA! Melissa

My DH actually knows Cathe's name. I find that kinda cute. "What Cathe are you doing today?" The other day I was doing something that had some kick box moves and he moved up next to me and was kinda dancing silly and kicking a little. He wasn't making fun though, just playing with me. I thought that was really cute too. DH is very proud of me that I have changed my behaviors and started to exercise consistently. He tells me that all the time.

My DH also knows Cathe's name but he calls her Cathe with a long A because it is spelled with an e on the end like lake. We like names that are spelled differently at our house. :) He is very encouraging and knows I am working really hard. He often walks by and says "She's insane" especially when I am doing anything that involves jumping.

My DH may remain my DH because he does not make fun.

Sometimes he'll help me, actually, since I've asked him to point out if I look like them (pikes, planks, etc, where I can't tell if my butt is in the right spot). He now considers this His Job. Which I would really find infuriating, but I'm beginning to see that he's actually being incredibly supportive with those comments. No matter how bad it feels at the time, LOL. (He never seems to say that I look exactly like them...)

He tells me when I ask that he's impressed and proud, and he thinks I work really hard. He does think Cathe is crazy, but he also knows I'm crazy about her, her workouts, and all of you- so he's great. He thinks it's really cute, which for him, is the highest compliment he can give me.

And he will never do a workout with me. He says it's because he works hard at work (he runs around all day long)... but I think it's because he's afraid!! }(

Fun thread!!

No, my DH has watched some of the videos and knows how tough they are. He's even told me, "Wow, I don't know if I could do that." Which is okay, because actually the idea of my DH doing step aerobics or hi/lo is amusing. He runs, hikes and bikes with me, though, so I can't complain.

I got him to do PUB with me once. He lasted until just before triceps and he was fried!

Sometimes he walks in the room while I'm doing step and he'll yell "All around the world!" to be funny. He's supportive of my exercise habits. ;-)
