BowFlex Tread Climber

Who here has a BowFlex treadclimber? And do you like it? I'm toying with getting one but I don't want to buy anything unless I know it's going to be worth the investment...know what I mean?

I have a TreadClimber and I love it. My sister said it hurts her knees though. Its a low impact machine. You can also lock the treadles and use it as a treadmill, but it stays on an incline (I think 10%). The highest speed is 4 mph. I wear a heart rate monitor and I don't have any problem getting in my zone, and I don't have the resistance all the way up. I use iTrain's programs with it (iClimb and iTread) and I just have to modify as I need to. I've had it now for almost 3 years and use it several times a week. Most often I just add on a little cardio to whatever workout is in my rotation. Hope this info helps!

i personally don't have the treadclimber (my brother does) so i have used it but i wanted to give you my 2 cents. i would just get a regular treadmill. you can get a great treadmill for the same price. The reason i could choose the treadmill is b/c you have more options with it than the treadclimber: incline, speed, run vs. walk, run sideways, run backwards, do bearcrawls on it, etc. I feel the treadclimber is limited as it only goes to 4mph. It is a good piece of equipment and it did get my breathing up but since i like to vary my workouts so much and i like to run, i would opt for a regular treadmill.

I was trying to determine if it was worth the cost for a low impact workout. I have a treadmill and I cannot use it because when I run, my left leg shin splint flares it's ugly head and I'm out of commission for weeks.

I wanted to get everyone's two cents because it is an expensive piece of equipment....I don't want to get it and not be able to use it. We bought an exercise bike for about $200 at Walmart and I have only used it about once or twice because it hurts my arse and my knees!

does walking flare up your shin splints too? if it doesn't it would probably be a great piece of equipment for you. also, an elliptical would work well for you too. you can find them for pretty cheap now-a-days. I saw that norditrack just put out a few new models.
