Bosu Trainers

Are Bosu trainers worth the investment? There are a few new workout DVD's that intrigue me but they require these, and they are not cheap.
Also, what is the verdict on TRX workouts....the suspension type equipment and methods. Do they work?
Thank you in advance for any info or opinions.

Do you know what the difference between the BOSUs that have been out for awhile and the BOSU Trainers.? Reading reviews on Amazon, no mention was made of any differences, except price!

I have only recently started using my BOSU, using DVD workouts. I have had leg issues and when I first tried the BOSU, it seemed to make these issues worst. I have done a lot of strengthening doing lunges with weights, etc. and tried the BOSU again. I do the BOSU workouts 2-3 times a week (Cathe's and Lauren's Kettlebells other days) and I think the BOSU has really helped my legs. My balance is better, ie one leg stands and hopping rocks to rocks while hiking, plus just feel much stronger when doing any physical activity. I have Mindy's BOSU DVD in the mail to me. I plan to continue doing BOSU workouts for awhile.

Mindy's new DVD was the reason I asked this question....it looks great and I love Tabata style workouts but it uses a Bosu for some of the routines....I might give one a try. I wish there was a place where you could rent one for a week or two. Hmmm, maybe a business idea, although I imagine there would be many liabilities for such a thing....someone would inevitably get hurt and you would end up in court with huge legal fees.

Thanks for your response.

Mindy's BOSU - Total Body Blast dvd is an awesome workout! Man does this get my HR up.

I have been eyeing Mindy's new tabata one...I am so excited to hear that Cathe is going to do some tabata in her upcoming workouts!

When I bought my BOSU I hoped I could use it in place of my step but I found that personally, I could not use my BOSU for all step workouts - only some. I found that Cathe's Low Max step workout lends itself well to the BOSU. I have purchased some BOSU specific dvds, too, but at the time when I was looking there weren't a lot. I got Glick's, the above mentioned Mindy workout, and then there was a special on a BOSU workout that has ~ 6 workouts that cost $25. The problem with this one is that they use additional equipment for some of the workouts - like more than 1 BOSU, and 2 stability balls (the kind that have sand in them), and such.

Laura started a thread on the step 360 - and I think I now would be tempted to get that rather than my BOSU (though it is bigger than the BOSU so it takes up more room if that is an issue).

I have just started taking TRX classes (I bought a living social deal) because I have been wanting a TRX for about 2 years now. I really like it! Perhaps that is a way you could find out if TRX is for you - see if there are any classes around, many places offer the 1st class for free.

Mu $99 BOSU is one of those pieces of equipment left gathering dust and never used in my fitness arsenal.

I am sure it is physiologically sound and I good for me, I just never get around to using it outside of physical therapy.

I personally do no think it worth getting one for just one workout, even for two, unless you plan to use the BOSU every week in your training. Save the cash.
