Bosu and Ab exercises ?

I would like to know what AB exercises can be done on the Bosu that cannot be done on the stability ball? Thanks Rhonda

I do alot of ab work on my bosu. I am able to balance and lift my feet and legs (as well as head & shoulders) off of the bosu and balance while doing curls and oblique twists, legs raises, bicycle etc. You might be able to use your stability ball if you wedged it in somewhere so that it couldn't move. But you'd better be careful! LOL!

Precisely! After just getting my BOSU last night, and doing the video that came with it, I can totally agree. I think the key word IS stability. You get all the advantages of the stability ball, but it is stable, and you won't break your neck rolling off of it. There is tremendous balance needed, but it is all is your abs and back, not in other things trying to keep you from rolling around....like legs and arms needed to hold you still. Does that make sense?

I haven't done this yet, but another poster (her name is Cheryl, I don't remember her id) does almost all of Cathe's floor ab work on the Bosu, such as in C&W and SJP. You couldn't do a lot of those exercise on the ball without using your legs to support you. Bicycles are a good example. Granted, I've just done Core Foundations and they do some of the C&W work with the ball, but you could do it differently with the Bosu (and maybe not injure yourself trying LOL!).

Thanks so much for your replies, and so fast, I will probably get one real soon. Thanks again Rhonda:7

You can also do planks with the flat side up, which leads to a few other variations, like lifting an arm or a leg, dipping down from one side to the other on the elbows or the hands, or putting the feet on the flat side and hands/elbows on the floor. I took the Bosu to show my physical therapist the other day and he really liked it; he wants to get one for his practice.
