BootCamp

So ladies (and gents if any are reading, but I've noticed it's mainly ladies here)...

I'm curious about BootCamp. I was reading the description and it sounds fun (okay, I'm sick and demented, but it DID sound fun to me). So, my question is - if you heavy lift (I use MIS and ME plus taylor my own workout at the gym), and do cardio (I have IMAX2, Low Max, Kick Max and Hard Core Extreme) where do you fit this in? Do you count it more as Cardio or more as weight work - or do you kind of treat it like Circuit Max, which I also have (yeah, I'm MAXimized... LOL). I have ME - and love it, but I paid $10 on eBay for a VHS of it - I'll pay more to get it on DVD.

I have another question - should I get BootCamp if I really do break down my workouts to Heavy weights and cardio, or should I get IMAX 3?

And did I seriously just ask these questions - my body is experiencing DOMS just thinking about these workouts!!!

Boot Camp is a circuit work out for sure. It's good to mix it up a bit with circuit work outs. See if you can plug BC into your routine between a heavy weight day and a cardio day. I suggest not going REAL heavy on the weights in BC that way you don't have to worry about overuse/injury/etc caused by weight training 2 days in a row. Either that or set it up so that it falls between 2 cardio days...this is probably the better option, BTW.

I can't answer your question in regards to BC vs imax 3 as I don't own imax 3 but IMO BC is worth every penny! That w/o kicks a$$!!!}(

I'm new to Cathe, so not that well versed, but I'd say Bootcamp is more of a circuit type workout. I just viewed it for the first time last night. You have 8 "cardio segments". I think each was maybe 5 min long? And then, they picked up the weights. Then, went back to another "cardio segment". I forget now what the weight part included (I also viewed Muscle Max last night! lol) But the cardio looked fun (some kick boxing, some jumping jacks, lots of cool stuff!). There was one segment with a medicine ball (maybe 2 segments?).

I think I'm going to have to work up to Bootcamp! lol I'm still getting winded from Step Heat! :+

Christine, I also struggle with where and how to put Bootcamp into my rotation.

For me, the weight work in it is not enough to really consider it a weight workout. I like to do it in a week where I've done some type of split and then the Bootcamp will allow me to hit each muscle group one more time. Bootcamp is a good workout (the weights are really not all the heavy)if you want to lift, but you also want to get your heartrate up.

Now...if I had to pick between the Bootcamp and IMAX 3, I'd have to go with IMAX 3...I love that workout. I personally like it better than Bootcamp. But that's just me. Someone else will post and say the exact opposite.

On the other hand, you have IMAX 2 which is similar to IMAX 3, so if you're looking for something different from what you've got, then go with Bootcamp...to add variety to your mix.

So are you even more confused now?

Well, BootCamp does sound like fun, but I have CM and Cardio and Weights (which I'm not thrilled with - not enough cardio, and not enough heavy weight workout to make up for the lack of cardio - or am I missing something?)... I digrees, I have CM & C&W. I will end up with BootCamp (of course - I'll end up with ALL of the videos - who the heck am I fooling??), but I think I'll start with IMAX3. I love IMAX2 - simply adore it - but I've heard IMAX3 has less rest - that may be even more fun.

I've been in sales meetings all week, so I've had to shorten my workouts, eat bad food, and sit on my butt all day. I'm going batty! I can't wait until today is over. I'm getting Hardcore and Kick Max today thanks to UPS (Christmas time!!), so I'm gonig to kill myself tomorrow! Fun, fun!

I have to say that I love the IMAX's as well (did IMAX 3 this morning in fact), however as Wendy said, it is good to mix things up with some circuit workouts. I try to do at least one circuit workout a week. I have C&W as well and don't care for it nearly as much as BC. In my opinion C&W isn't even in the same league as BC as far as intensity goes. BC is a definite butt kicker!!! If you're looking for something you'll feel the next day, I'd go for BC.

You ladies are trying to drive me batty... LOL. Whichever one I don't buy, I WILL buy next paycheck. I have to own both of these! LOL
