bootcamp or 4DS?

Hi everyone. I'm new to posting. I've been lurking for a while though. ;-) I've been doing Cathe workouts for 3 years now and am addicted. I own many of her DVD's, but I am curious what some of you think of bootcamp versus 4DS.

I'm boy-shaped (very small boobs - hahahaha), but pear shaped, too, as I tend to carry my extra weight in hips, butt and thighs. I had my 2nd child a year ago and I am still not where I would like to be. Specifically, I would like to lose about 5-10 more pounds to get to my pre-baby weight and lose inches in my lower body so I can fit into more of my pre-baby jeans. My 10-year reunion is coming up ... and well, you know the story. :) I would like to get in better shape, if possible.

Currently I'm doing about 4-5 cardio only workouts a week (like Imax 2, Lowmax and Kickmax) and then 1 arm workout and 1 leg workout or a combined weight workout like Muscle Max. Is this a good way to lose inches? -- beefing up the cardio as opposed to concentrating on weights? I want to get a few more DVD's to help motivate myself ... so, with the goals I just outlined, would bootcamp or 4DS be a better choice?

Sorry for the long post .... I would appreciate and love any input. Oh, and I'm also *trying* to clean up my eating, too, as I know this is probably the biggest reason why I haven't lost the extra weight. Haha.... ahhh, chocolate! :)

THANKS!

4DS is awesome and versatile but is a bit pricey. With Bootcamp you also get Muscle Endurance which is a good total body workout. I think 4 DS has alot more variety and many more premixes. If you dont already have it, you may also want to consider Body Max 2. It has pure cardio premix, a great Double Upper Body premix to fry the upper body, cardio/leg circut premixes and it also has a bootcamp premix, plus the workout as-is is great.

Let us know what you decide!

I agree with Stacey on 4DS - so many options there!! Also BodyMax 2 , that whole series is a great way to circuit train. Either one would be a great investment!!

I'd mix in weight workout with 3 days of cardio. Currently I'm doing about 40-50 min of cardio on three days, one total body workout, and one upper body, one lower body the other three days going heavy when I can. I know everyone is different but this has worked for me. I've seen the fat melt away, my shoulders are popping, my arms are toned and begining to see some shape, and hips and thighs are trimming up (hubby says bottom half is shaping up nicely). I've used a mix of step blast, KPC, BC, and double cardio from 4DS. For weights I've used SS, PP, ME, PUB, PLB, MM.

I've been more careful with my eating habits too eating 5 small meals per day.

I'm not sure if I was helpful

Good luck.

Hi again,

Thanks for the replies. I do have Body Max 2 and I love it. :) It's hard to have just "one" favorite workout, but that one definitely ranks near the top. :) I think I'm learning more towards 4DS. But I know I'll eventually get bootcamp, too. Hmmm. Decisions, decisions. But, yeah this time around I think I'll go for the 4DS and throw in a Butts and Guts DVD while I'm at it. ;) That's my plan.

Thanks!

Kara

Hi everyone -

Ok so I ended up getting 4DS, Butts and Guts ... AND the Terminator DVD.

I still want to get Bootcamp/Muscle Endurance later, but I'm happy with what I picked this time around. :) I think I spent about 45 mins on cathe's site trying to decide between the different dvd's.

If only I could get all the ones I don't have RIGHT NOW! hahaha. All in good time though, ... all in good time.

Thanks for all the input!

Kara :)

I think you made great purchases! So exciting to get new workouts.

You mentioned this, but I just like to emphasize how important your diet is. I worked out for years and it wasn't until I got serious about my diet that I really saw results.
