Boot Camp !!!

Yikes, I did Bott Camp today and maybe it's my 56 year old body or the fact I am new to Cathe..but all I have to say is----->WOW!
I did make it to the end, but I also modified a lot, a lot and then again, a lot.
I only have 4 risers for the high step and did not use more than 10lb. weights and as far as the barbell went, let's just say that it never saw anything higher than a total of 20lbs. What a wimp:eek: ;)
I thought I would die when I saw Cathe doing the terminator, I will say I again tried, but could not do all of them.
What a fun workout though!
Hope I eventually will get trhough it:>))))
 
Hi Marsha.

Yes, Boot Camp is definitely fun, and quite a challenge. You'll be able to increase the weights you use in no time, just stick with it, and remember, as Cathe says, "You can do anything for a minute". As far as modifying goes, never feel bad about doing that. There are some moves that I just won't do (i.e. terminators and anything else that puts a lot of weight on the wrist). I just find substitutes like jump kicks or plyo jacks or something that I use instead.

WHEW1 tHANK YOU sHELBYGIRL FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENT. I DO NOT PUTTING A LOT OF WEIGHT ON MY WRISTS EITHER, JUST CANNOT DO IT.

Girl, age has nothing to do with it. That's just a hard workout, hands down!! The first time I did it was last week and I made it only halfway through. And I'm not new to Cathe. It's just HARD!! So if anyone is the wimp, it's me for not being able to finish. I've got it on my schedule again and this time I am planning on making it all the way through. Oh, and I did die after the terminator climbs. I died right after the first set. hehehee!
 
Thank you for making feel better about not being able to do all the routines. The terminator really was out of my stamina:>)
But I loved the workout.

I'm "only" 44 and I've done Boot Camp once. I'm scared to do it again!:D It is a very tough workout. I do plan to attempt it again, but I really have to psych myself up for it!

For being 56 years old, you must in good shape. I am the same age, and I can't go that far up in weights with Cathe.

I like Boot Camp a lot. The terminators I do, but slowly...very, very slowly. Boot Camp reminds me of High Step Advanced somewhat, but I like High Step Advanced a little better. They are both great workouts, however.

I could not do the terminator to the end...yikes.
I was looking at her new Basic Step/Body Fusion and High Step Circuit. Do you know if these are easy for a beginner to Cathe's step?
I want to add some more tapes. If my body is willing :>))

Marsha - you go girl! You did great! Each time you do it you will get better and be able to do more! Whenever I get a new Cathe workout I generally have to modify simply because you have to adjust to the pace, intensity, etc. The first time I did Boot Camp I had to modify and even still now I have days where I just don't "have it" to be able to do everything. This is one of my favorite Cathe workouts though. Keep at it! :) :)
