Boot Camp - Question

A question about Boot Camp: If I'm doing Pyramids or some other weight videos on a two-day split, if I want to do Boot Camp, must I put a day before and after boot camp if I use really light weights on Boot Camp? For exmaple, I did PUB-up today and will do PLB-up tomorrow but would love to do Boot Camp on Sunday. Should I or can I? Then should I take Monday off or can I do something (prefer weights, but could do like KP&C) on Monday and take Tuesday off? Just not sure how to get Boot Camp in without cutting into limited training time.

You will get various answers on this. I personally do not do any weights of the same muscle group back to back. I would put a cardio day inbetween them. It really depends on your goals and objectives, but assuming you want to build muscle, I would not work the same muscle group back to back.

Although I don't do BC after a weight workout (I go as heavy as I can with BC), I don't see why you can't do it if you use light weights. Plus, the amount of reps per body part is small so I would think one doesn't tear too many muscle fibers even with heavier weights. I say go for it -- it's such a great workout!

I don't see a problem because like you said just go light on the weights. I do the same thing for instance I did PUB on Monday and then the following day I did Circuit Max but just kept the weights light even for legs. Sometimes I do go heavy when I didn't get a day of weights in that week but of course I have to take longer breaks:)

I don't have a problem putting weights of any sort, upper or lower, before or after Boot Camp. In other words, it doesn't work my muscles hard enough for me to consider it strength training. Obviously, this is not true for everyone, but I have not had a problem with this. The only thing I don't do the day efore or after Boot Camp is abs.

Ditto Mogambo.

In fact if you have DVD (or even VHS for that matter - just ff) you could even leave out the weight sections and do all the cardio and core. I use it as a type of interval training, but I leave in all the kick box stuff along with the intervals just leave out the weight sections and go for it. Really - the weight sections are very short and hardly constitute a serious weight workout unless you really go heavy.

Have FUN!!
