Boot Camp- Med Ball Question

Hey Everyone,
I have a question about Boot Camp and when they use the medicine ball. I know Lorraine does the modifacation if you don't have one, but when Cathe did the reverse crunches with the ball between her legs, Lorraine didn't use anything.

My question is does it make a difference if you use the wieght of the medicine ball when doing these because Lorraine doesn't use any wieght? Is it harder if you do? Thanks for any help. I know you guys are all experts!!:7

The med ball does make a difference. Lorraine's modification is an easier one, one to keep the exerciser doing something (if only an easier something) during the drill. Certainly adding weight to abdominal or other core exercises usually increases intensity. And there's no way to effectively hold a dumbbell, weight plate or even a rolled-up ankle weight between the knees.
