Boflex Select Tech Dumbells?

I have had the 5# to 52.5# ones for a few years. Love them and feel they were on of the best fitness purchases I have ever made...:)

I just purchased the same kind Carole has, and I love them. IA, it ranks up there as one of the best fitness purchases I've made. A big investment but worth it.

I've been looking at these for a while. Cathy & Carole, what will you do about the 1# increments for STS (assuming you ordered:))?

I have Bowflex dumbbells. They are great in terms of having increments in weight. The only drawbacks I find are the following:

-They are chunky, meaning that when you do certain movements like hammer curls, I don't feel that I can complete the movement at the top all the way or else I hit my shoulders.
-I set them up right next to me when I do my Cathe workouts. But I still have to pause a little longer sometimes to switch the weight. For example, in 4DS she uses two sets of weights with no break between the sets. I still have to break to change the weight.

I don't regret getting them, and have had them for a long time. They don't take up space. However, if I could have just bought a huge set of weights from York or any other company, I would have.

Good luck!

We have both the 5 - 52.5 and the 5 - 20. I have had these for several years and love them. However, I still have my old dumbbells (5, 8, 10, 12, 15, & 20). I kept these for workouts like ME where the weight change is very fast and I don't want to have to pause my DVD.

I agree with Carole, this was one of my best fitness puchases ever.

Just bought these for DS for Christmas and he is very pleased with them. We got an off brand at almost 1/2 the price, but had to take them back within days because the plastic that held the weights in place broke:(

Same here - have had them maybe 4 months & LOVE them!! I do still use some of my regular weights since they are less bulky, but wouldn't trade my Bowflex. Wonderful investement!! :D

My DH got them for me for Christmas. I absolutely love them but I also still use my other dumbells when there is a quick change or exercise with light weights(just because I already have them).
I think they'll be great for STS since on one dumbell there are two dials. If you have one set to 25 and the other set to 30 - you have a 27.5 lb dumbell so I think it'll work just great for STS and working w/ smaller increments.

i have the 5 to 52.5 lb ones. this was one of the best pieces of fitness equipment i ever splurged on. i recommend them to anyone looking to purchase some dumbbells.
