Body Max

I've really valued the opinions of others exercisers on the various Cathe workouts. So, here's another question: If I like Cardio and Weights, Muscle Endurance, High Step Training, Boot Camp A LOT, will I also like Body Max? Are any of these comparable? Or, do I even need Body Max? Is the choreography on the step hard to get? Thanks! I'm about to order Circuit Max based on earlier posts, and I'm thinking of getting Body Max as well. Carol

Yes, you should get it! This is a great workout! Step, step circuits and then upper body weight training. You can break this one up into separate workouts as well. If you can, get this on DVD as it also includes Power Hour and MIS.

I love the step portion of this workout. The first section is 20 min. of step, which will get you pretty winded. I'm not sure how well you pick up on choreography, but this isn't too difficult. I would say it's moderate choreography. The second part is a power step (leg) workout, also about 20min. This is an intense step routine mixed with a short leg workout, mainly lunges (only 1 long set of standing leg exercises between cardio blasts). The last part is about a 30 min. upperbody workout and then abs. The first step section is my favorite and I have used it soooo often with other workouts. I don't really know why I like this so much, but I guess it's short, intense and not too repetitious. I really like the ab section and used to do this section often. This isn't my best video description, but hoped I helped a little. I think you will master the choreography fairly quickly. It usually takes me a few tries before mastering choreography. Get it, you will be glad you did!:)

BodyMax is a great all- in -one workout. I usually do it once a week on a day that I have a lot of free time. I am a Cathe newbie, and I was able to pick up on the choreography by the second time.

I say go for it...why should my credit card be the only one smoking!!!!}( }(

Hey Writer!!!! I started doing Cathe workouts 4 years ago and BodyMax was my very first one. I love, love, love this workout, no, I mean I REALLY love this workout!!!! I have all of Cathe's stuff from StepHeat on and BodyMax never gathers dust. If you have 90 minutes and do this workout start to finish you have really accomplished a lot. The step portion is short but stellar and the upperbody and abs at the end are most effective and efficient. The opportunities for mishing and moshing BodyMax with other workouts are limitless. Try CTX PowerCircuit cardio and circuits followed by the circuit portion of BodyMax, HELLO LEGS!!!!! You must have this workout!!!!!

Did I mention that I love this workout!:)

Hi fab40

Did you purchase the dvd with mis and power hour?. I was wondering how you like power hour as well. I have mis on vhs but I had heard nothing but great things about power hour also.

Have a great evening

Hi Deb!
No, I decided on the Pyramids instead. I didn't want all those weight workouts. I'm more of a cardio nut. All the weight work becomes the same after awhile and I didn't want too much of the same thing. I recently got HSTA too and the high step. I'm pretty content with my selection. By the way, I wrote you a note in the High Step thread. :) Take Care!

Wow, thanks to all of you for great comments, and for giving some details about the workout. Laurie's words should be on the cover! After getting used to dvds, I am finding myself impatient with videos, so I want to ask another question: What do you all think of Power Hour and MIS, which will come on the dvd? I lift lighter than Cathe does (esp. on the bar), and I like the new Superset workout a lot. Do these compare to supersets? Carol

Body Max choreo is really easy to get but very intense. IMO, this is one of Cathe's toughest step workouts intensity-wise. I did the first two sections along with Gilad's Quick Fit Buns & Thighs yesterday and I am feeling a burn in my inner thighs, butt, and hamstrings like I have *NEVER* felt before. What an excellent lower body workout!

Hi Carol. First, I have to agree that Body Max is a great workout. I would suggest adding it to your collection. It's a classic. The other workouts on the dvd are very good as well. My favourite complete body workout is Powerhour. It is so tough. Low ends make me cry. On the dvd I use Powerhour and Body Max every week. MIS I use just to mix things up a bit. I hope this helps. Lisa

This was my second Cathe workout. Bodymax covers all of your body except calves and has a good cardio workout. It is intense. I would not be without this workout. It is long. Around 1 and 1/2 hours. The dvd does allow a lot of options to add on to other workouts. The lower body is done in circuits and the upper is an endurance workout. I did not find the choreography hard to get. By all means get this workout.
