Body Max (the original)

I am doing a modified version of the August '05 rotation and this little gem came up. I had forgotten how much I LOVE this workout! The step is quick paced (quicker than most of her step, actually) and not tedious (I'm not a fan of too much build time - just show me what to do a few times and move on). The blasts do not have the dread factor of Body Max 2, and the weights are short but sweet. Nice to rediscover this workout again!
 
You are so right, it sure is a goodie! I haven't pulled this one out in a while but everything you say is absolutely true, as I remember it. I might have to sub it in this week somewhere! :)

Kinda makes me want to spend an hour "previewing/reviewing" my entire Cathe collection -- there are so many oldies-but-goodies that I haven't done in a while, like PowerMax, just to throw one out that popped into my head.

Maybe we should ask Cathe to whip us up an Oldies Rotation, and by that I do NOT mean a rotation for MEMBERS LIKE ME WHO ARE OF A CERTAIN AGE!!! ;) ;) ;)

LOL - I'm up there as well - so an Oldie's Rotation for us Oldie's! :+ But that's a great idea. I have a list of all my workouts and I do try to rotation between them - but I get on kicks. We'll see. Right now - I'm following a modified August '05 rotation - and will be doing some of the oldies. I'm enjoying it.
 
I was just thinking about what short, but intense cardio I could do today to tack onto my upper body strength training....the step part of Body Max would be great! Havent pulled that one out in ages! Thanks for the reminder!
 
Thanks, I haven't done this workout in years and I did it today. I love it. It makes me wonder if I can do Body Max 2. How do they compare. Is the choreography harder.

The choreography is probably a little bit more intricate--but Cathe breaks it down beautifully. I had no problems. IMO, though, the blasts in BM2 are much, much harder as is the UB work. They're both fun and hard in their own ways.

I think one of the reasons why the upper body and circuits seem so tough is because, for me, the first step section moves so fast. The bpms seem quite high. It's not too intricate or intense, but the speed is what gets me.

I love both Body Max workouts. I love that that structure is the same, yet I like how they are quite different from one another.
