Body blast series

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to hear some feedback on the body blast series. I am thinking of ordering it but I wanted to hear some thoughts. Would you consider it for people who love advanced workouts? Do you gain great results?

Please let me know if you think it is worth it...I am looking for intense workouts that test/push the limits leaving you feeling like you have indeed worked out.

Thanks,
Manny

Manny,

I have been using the body blast series for about 2 months. Step Blast is really fun and the Challenge at the end is great! I have done them all as is, but prefer the premixes to get a more challenging workout.
Last night I did the KPC and L&G premix which is 82 minutes. It is great. I also like to do the 80 minute premixes for SJP and SB. I just feel more worked out. I have done Push Pull a few times after a cardio and Supersets only once. So, I am not going to comment on those to much. I love love L&G. It is very different from Cathe's other leg workouts, but have noticed some change in my lower body since using this workout.

I think you would really enjoy this series and get some great workouts in and results too.

Have a great day!!

I do not like Supersets and PushPull. It is hard to get worked out, unless you go to the Mix and Match and sit there repeating sets for an hour. I do like making a tough abs workout using all the Supersets abs together.

But that is my only negative opinion. I love KPC and LG, and the premixes. They are tough and effective. I like StepBlast also, and SJP is fun and tough and the premixes are great. I often do the long ones too, but short ones can be combined with weight work.

The Timesavers are decent, but I have time, so I don't use them much. I do like to combine all the upper body work into one workout, but that's because there really isn't a good solid upper body workout in this series.

If you're looking for tough stuff, I'd get everything but SS/PP.

I bought the timesaver DVD and I love the leg workout in it. The kickboxing section is fun too so I would think that KPC and Leg's and Glutes would be fun to do. I am pretty disappointed in Push/Pull and the Supersets and plan on putting these in the drawer.

I love all of the Body Blasts!

The reason I really like Push Pull and Supersets is because I already have all the muscle I want and really don't want to gain any more. I gain muscle very easily. I just want to maintain what I have. I think that Push/Pull and Supersets are just perfect for me, and I will use them more often than I'll use her other strength workouts. :)

SJP, SB, L&G and KPC are a total blast! They are intense and do push my limits. I put my all into these workouts and have so much fun, and feel very, very worked out. :)

I have to agree with mogambo. SS and P/P are the only workouts I haven't touched, and I actually like the premixes more than the workouts as they are originally. This is because I like working out in splits and I do more strength training than endurance work.

KPC is a kick-butt kickboxing workout, and I use it all the time. I feel this workout in my shoulders (especially in my posterior delts where I need it most), in my lats, my core and my legs. It delivers. L&G is a different type of lower body workout from those Cathe has done before. You use lower weights but you'll feel it the next day. I especially like the segments where you use ankle weights. I use SB and the step portion of SJP for cardio. I didn't get the Timesavers so I can't say anything about that.

Well, Danielle makes my point. ;-) If you want tough workouts, you don't need SS/PP. If you like to workout just for maintenance, I also think they would be fine. When my muscles feel big enough, rather than doing "Wimpy Workouts", I think I will just rest!

But that's me.

My tough workouts are MIC and Circuit Max, SJP, Step Blast etc. Those are what I consider "tough workouts". To me, "Muscle Endurance" and even the "Pyramids" aren't that tough, but if I do them too often, my muscles get too big. I just don't want to gain any more muscle. But that's just me.

Cardio and staying toned is my main focus. I just *don't* want this to happen. --> http://www.weddingchat.com/images/smilies/badscale.gif

I wouldn't say I'm settling for wimpy workouts. They're very fun (especially the use of the stability ball) and get the job done. For strength workouts I'll stick with PP and Supersets. http://www.weddingchat.com/images/smilies/barbells.gif Then I'll do her other strength workouts just once in a while but not a regular basis.

I guess we all just have to find what works best for us and our body types.

That is my problem....I gain muscle very easy and very fast and I don't want that...already my legs are bigger than I would like them to be. I like workouts like IMAX 2 and stuff like that that you physically feel worked afterwards. I already have weight lifting workouts so I really am not concerned about building anymore muscle but being toned....legs and butt are my biggest problem areas. I love hard ab workouts and I guess cardio weight loss etc......that being said what do people suggest?

I love IMAX2 also. I think you'd like Step Blast and Kick Punch & Crunch. Legs & Glutes is another good one and comes on the same DVD as KP&C. I also really enjoy Step Jump & Pump. You'll feel completely worked out. :)

Hi Manny, I'm with Dani on L&G and KPC for your lower body. You might want to try Leaner Legs as well -- low weights, high reps, no rest, it kills.:D Kickboxing is great for shaping the arms, core and legs, so consider Cardio Kicks and CTX Kickbox. Cardio Kicks is high-impact, but it's something you can modify.

Great advice everyone...I really appreciate your feedback. It especially helps because I live in Canada so it is somewhat expensive for me to order the DVDs especially with the shipping. I don't mind spending it but I want to make sure I am getting my monies worth. You have all helped me so very much.....

Thank you!
Manny

Hi!
I guess I'm different from everyone else. I love the push pull/super set workouts. I love working on the stability ball for a change! I do use the longer premixes when I'm doing a weights only day though. But I'll do just the regular push pull workout after a cardio if I want a longer workout. I use heavier weight on some of the exercises than Cathe uses and get a good workout!
Just my $0.02!

Hi Manny,

Just a quick note to let you know you don't have to order from the U.S if you're in Canada. We have a wonderful supplier in Canada that stocks all of Cathe's videos/dvd's (plus many more). Check them out at cksales.com. (not sure if the link will work). I've ordered fromt them many times and they are great to deal with. Good luck,

Bev

Jenn - I too really like PP/SS. I love the stability ball too.
Actually love the whole series and have gotten really good results (especially on my legs and butt). L&G and KPC are awesome. I'm not a huge step fan so i do SB the least, though it's fun too. I really like the music a lot.

Let us know how you like the series!!

Also check out the thread for rotation made my lower body smaller. I got similar results.
