Blog-site question?

So, I've held out for a zillion years and I'm ready to start a blog. Who has any recommendations on good sites. Is there a difference in blog sites? Please provide the good, bad and funny! haha

Hey Pam...yay for starting your own blog! Most of the people I know have a free blog site on blogspot.com. They have the coolest templates and are super user friendly. I pay for a site on squarespace.com. They have great technical support but cost anywhere from $8-$50 a month (I pay for the $20 service, but the $8 or $20 will more than take care of a beginner's needs).

On blogspot...you will be able to select a template and begin blogging within just a few minutes.

I'm on blogspot and it's free and super easy, but not a whole lot of bells and whistles. I'm pretty new to it too, and I wanted something free. Have fun! Be sure to let us know about it when you get it set up! :)
 
I used blogger (blogspot) and livejournal and wordpress. Wordpress is by far (for free ones) the most useful of them all. LJ wins because of list filtering. blogspot because of it initially being used for ease. But look at all three to see which one fits your needs best.

Did you get your blog up and running? What platform did you decide on? Are you enjoying blogging? This thread - as well as several others - inspired me to start a blog as well. I am using blogger. I had intended to go in one direction but am now going in other, we'll see what happens. I would love to hear what everyone thinks, the good, the bad and the ugly so I can make it better, more interesting, user-friendly, etc. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
