bloated

I'm not overweight (5' 105lbs small frame) but my stomach always gets bigger after I eat- so by nighttime I sometimes look pregnant. I don't know why this happens or if anything can fix it.

On days when I have to get up at 6am- so I only get 5-6 hours of sleep (I usually get 8-9 hours), my stomach is super bloated all day long and feels full regardless of what I eat. Does anyone know why this happens?

Thanks for ANY advice!

My sister in law was having this problem last summer and it ended up being gas. She began gasx to ease her problem and it eventually just went away and she didn't have to deal with it any longer. But the gasx helped for the time being.

Do you have discomfort like cramps or gas?

You may have IBS. (Irritable bowel syndrome) I had symptoms exactly like what you describe. I still have some bloating, but not nearly as bad as I used to be.

I identified high fiber foods as the biggest offender. A close second is dairy. Flax seed, fruit, most vegetables, whole wheat. So no, I don't have a very healthy diet, but it's better than feeling miserable. It took awhile for this to work.

I'm currently trying a free sample of "Digstive Advantage," a supplement specifically for IBS. It seems to be helping a little, but it's only been a few days. Here's the website to request a sample:

I don't have the exact same problem but I am definitly more bloated in the evening.I think most women are.And not to be gross but I normally have alot of gas to.In my case I am trying to decide if I am actually bloated or if I have gained a little around my middle. For you it is probably different though.
Do you eat alot of salty foods? Prehaps you are retaining water? You could also try cutting back on your carbs alittle in the evening.I also find that green veggies (spinach) makes me feel gasy.
Good Luck,I know how uncomfortable in can be.

I've mentioned this before on the forum, but in case you missed it, I'd highly recommend the book The False Fat Diet by Elson Haas. It's an eye opener. Talks about food sensitivities and how they cause abdominal bloating and water retention. If you're eating an offending food or foods on a regular basis - and some of the biggest offenders *are* things we eat a lot - you could have a certain amount of chronic bloating that's mistaken for fat.

Angela,

Have you tried this program? I was looking over some of the reviews on the book and the program.
I would like to look into it further.
I am one of those who gets bloated almost daily. I do eat a variety of foods (good and bad) but almost everyday I am bloated and have gas.
I don't need to drop pounds but I would like to elimate the gas and bloating. I know I would feel better about the way I look.
