Birth Centre orientation!

I went to the orientation for the birthing centre last night. I'm so excited! I love the idea of delivering my baby in this place, with midwives. I walked out of there actually wishing my 40 weeks would be up already! This centre has the exact philosophy as I do regarding childbirth, and it is a relief to think that when I give birth to my baby, I'll be in an environment where I don't feel like I have to be defensive about what I want to happen. No one's going to be encouraging pain medication the minute I walk in the door (although epidurals are available if all other avenues of pain control have been exhausted), and I can feel confident that my birth plan will be respected. They also encourage birthing in any position but the hospitalized flat-on-your-back method and are equipped for that. Yay!

I can't wait for my first midwife appointment!

That is so exciting! I had my third at a birthing center and then wished that I had all of my children this way! I love my midwife and be the end she wasn't just my caregiver, she was also my friend. I am so happy that places like this are available now and that we have a choice as to how we are treated and how our babies come into the world. Your will love this experience! None compare to it!

Sandra, I am so happy to hear that you found some place nice to have your baby. I remember you weren't happy with your Obgyn. At least now you can have the delivery you want.
