Billy Blanks' Favorite Moves & The Firms' Jiggle Free Buns

BAM

Cathlete
I recently purchased BB's Favorite Moves, The Firms' Jiggle Free Buns and BB's 20 Power Rounds at extremely low prices. Has anyone used these and liked them? I don't have the transfirmer to use with Jiggle Free Buns and was wondering if I would still get a good workout without it. I haven't opened any of them yet and was hoping to hear some opinions on them first. Thanks for your help.

I don't do Tae bo workouts as much as I used to, but I do like Billy's Favorite Moves, and the 20 Power Rounds is a great 20 minute workout too.

Thanks Iris! It sounds like they're worth keeping. I paid $2.99 for each of them. Does he use bands in Favorite Moves and is the lower body worked much? Thanks again!

YW Bam. Billy doesn't use bands in either of the workouts you mentioned. $2.99 each is a steel. You will definitely get your monies worth. They both have a pretty good amount of lower body work with all the kicking. Favorite Moves also has some pretty good standing ab work. Billy's choreography is very easy to learn too. No tricky combos. Enjoy your new workouts :)

Thanks again, Iris. Now I feel better about unwrapping them, lol. Hopefully I can find someone who's done the Jiggle Free Buns so I can have a heads' up on THAT big investment. :)

I somehow wound up with two copies of Jiggle-Free Buns. I still use my old Firm workouts as ad-ons when I just want to have fun and rely especially on the Transfirmer workouts for some extra calorie burn and to raise my metabolic rate at a point in the day other than when I do my regular workouts. I remember the last time I used this one I was unimpressed but cannot recall why. Still, if you're new to working out or you use it as an add-on, like me, it can't hurt to pull it out now and then. In fact, I think JFB will be my next add-on workout so I can figure out what it was I didn't care for. Of The later firm workouts I do know I've always been partial to Stephanie (Corley) Huckabee's because, over all, they're the most challenging.

Man, I remember many years ago actually CRYING because The Firm was too hard... How things change...

JFB

I've done JFB quite a few times and it leaves me with DOMS in the buns for sure. It's short, but effective for me. The music is fun and the cardio and sculpting moves flow really well with it. It's a fun and very solid lower body workout.

I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks Stacey and Gonnabea5! Would you mind just letting me know if I would still benefit by JFB if I only have a regular step and not the transfirmer? Thanks again.

Okaaaaay. I need to revise my quickie review of JFB. I just did it and I'm DRIPPING in sweat. No lie. Short but tough. The only reason I can think for my prior distaste for this workout was because it was too tough because I was too fat when I got it. I'm much lighter and fitter now and IT WAS STILL TOUGH but I, at least could do all the moves. I did have to hit PAUSE once, to open up the windows and let the winter air in. I had to cool off!!! It's all compound moves which get your heart rate up and work everything so it's really not just a lower body 34-minute time-saver.

I did AOS Providence this morning (working other FB workouts in with STS) so it will be interesting to see how my lower body feels tomorrow morning, when I have a run scheduled... Oh fun.

About the Transfirmer: You really need to have an incline step or much of the benefit of the moves will be lost since much of it is moving up the incline (and working from the inclined shorter step over onto the flat higher section at a cross-angle. If you have a standard club step and a couple of slanted risers you'll get probably 90% of the benefit of this workout but you do need that incline.

Jiggle-Free Buns is one of the key workouts that I used to get my buns back in shape after a rotation that left them less than perky. It really needs an incline to be most effective though (the regular step with the new incline risers would work alright if you don't want a Transfirmer).

I haven't bought or used any Billy workouts for a long time. I was tired of his uneven yet incessant counting and his too-fast moves.

Billy's Fav Moves are great for a lighter day, I think. I like to pop that one in when I'm tired and don't feel like pushing myself. It's a nice little workout that'll get you sweating.
You won't be huffing and puffing, but it'll get your heart rate going.

Enjoy!

Stacey, I'm glad you rediscovered this workout. I love finding dvd's that you really feel you benefit from. Enjoy the sweat! :)

Kathryn, how cool that JFB got your bunnies back in shape. I decided to just open the dvd today and preview it. I think I've got some platforms that I could make an incline with. I'm looking forward to actually doing it. Thanks for the input.

Melimcn, I'm really not into heavy duty workouts so Favorite Moves could be just the thing for me.

Thanks again for all of your posts. I got all the information I needed!!!!! Woo Hoo!
