Hey, everyone!

Is it really almost 11 am et, and our daily post hasn't started? Or, are my eyes still swimming from being up until almost midnight, and I'm just not seeing it? I hate to say this, but I stayed up late, still finishing those @#%! taxes! I had to do a return in NC this year, in addition to federal and MD, and it just seems to be throwing me off. I started on these in early March, and thought I was more or less done a long time ago. I still do them by hand, I guess I'm learning a lesson on that this year.

Anyway, I couldn't bear to get up before 6 this morning, so no workout again today. If it doesn't happen in the morning, it rarely happens later in the day. Oh well. My cold is much better today, so maybe by taking an extra day I'll be ready to really get back into tomorrow, instead of doing something easier, as I had planned for today.

I hope everyone is well today. I look forward to hearing from you when I check in later.

Hi everyone-

just a quick check-in for right now, I'm still not sure what I'm going to do today for my workout... I'll post later- no run for today, though (I'm relieved).

Hope all of you are doing well-

Brenda

Hi all,
I'm still hanging in with the yoga. Some of it is VERY difficult (and I'm doing beginner stuff)

Brenda, I was reading your topic on the hypertrophy training. Sounds very interesting. I don't have that web-site so I'm not sure EXACTLY what happens. Are you going to put together a specific plan? Oh and I really did enjoy your Easter pic's. Glad you got that camera working properly LOL

Hello to everyone....

Good Morning everyone,

Boy, was I sore from KPC yesterday! My glutes and lats especially were tender. I had to switch the workouts for this week as I will be out of town this weekend and will not have access to my heavier weights for Slow and Heavy. So today was Slow and Heavy triceps and biceps. OUCH!!!! I will say that I made gains strength wise from this week to last week. I was able to not drop down on the last set of 8 so I got some really good burn going in the muscles. I think I may invest in either plate mates or a set of 6 or 7 pound dumbbells. Some of the tricep exercises are too easy at 5 lbs. and impossible for me at 8 lbs. I guess I need that happy medium.

Lisa- Thanks so much for your kind words in yesterday's thread. I'm glad that you feel supported and part of the community!

Brenda- I previewed IMAX last night. It doesn't look as scary as I imagined although it does have that more back to basics feel to it. Maybe I'll try it when I get back from spending time with my family.

Shywolf- How are you enjoying the April rotation? So far I'm liking the change from last months rotation. Did you really do week 1 cardio as written (IMAX 2 twice, MIC)? I made some modifications for me. If you did, you're one tough woman!!!

Anyhow, must run! Hellos to everyone!

Just saying hey real quick to everyone. Brenda, last night I tried a version of HIIT after a 4 mile walk with my neighbor...as my friend Shanna says, "Oh my crud!" I did IMAX 2 warm-up thru the end of interval 1 and then tacked on blasts 5-9 twice. I slept well!

Today will be a total body wieghted workout with some sort of cardio or HIIT after.

Check back later to see how everyone is doing!

See CinDee, it isn't that bad, is it? Once you get through one blast and pause a minute its not that hard to do it again, plus you know its over soon.

Today was just a few quick intervals to get my heart rate up and then I did S&H legs and ab work. I'm having a very hard time grasping the concept that workouts don't have to last 2 hours to be effective.

Someone on this site had made their own Cathe HIIT mix using warm-up from Imax1, all the intervals of 1 & 2 and the cool down from Imax2.
They said it only takes about an hour but was hard. The more I read the more I'm finding that if its REALLY high intense (via cardio %) you should only have to do 20-30 minutes 3-4 times a week. Wouldn't that be convenient? Then weight train heavy the opposite days.

We'll see...
