Good Morning everyone,
I didn't really want to start the thread b/c I didn't know if you guys were changing the name but I wanted to post and just let everyone know that I am now going to be gone until MOnday.
I didn't sleep well last night b/c I slept ina room with no alarm clock and I thought that we might sleep in.And also my friend is having her baby early today and I kept dreaming about her.I hate nights like that!
I did get a workout in yesterday.I did 1/2 S,J&P and then I did a 30 min run.The day before that I did Powerstrike 2 and Legs and Glutes.And there is not a muscle in my body that isn't tight.Powerstike is hard! YEsterday my triceps didn't hurt and today they do.Thats kinda weird.
ANyway,I hope everyone as a good weekend.I am sure I will and I will try not to spend to much money.We haven't even left the province yet and I have about $300 spent:eek:

I need to check what workout is scheduled for today and need to start immediately (my window of opportunity just opened). Just thought I'd check in quickly.
Lori, I hate nights like that (especially with the internal alarm clock that seems to go off every hour). Have fun on your trip!

I'm still a bit sore, but not as much as yesterday. Today will be PS BBA and a walk with my neighbor if her workday doesn't extend too long. An easier day will be welcome! DH wants to hit the road biking Sat. or Sun., so the other day will probably be tough cardio...maybe another interval or something tough but fun like SB.

Okay, what do you think? For the past 2 weeks I've gone much heavier since I've separated cardio from weights (as opposed to exclusively circuit training for the past 2 months). Week 1 was pyramid, LL, and CTX UB. This week was PS. According to the M&F rotation, week 3 should be supersets, but I have a hankerin' to go back to pyramids since I felt it soooo much (I've been walking around sore for 2 weeks, but I love it! Yes, I'm giving each muscle group a 48 hour rest). I'm also thinking of skipping the week 4 circuit since I'm kind of burned out on circuit and stay heavy or go to endurance. Feedback? Opinions? Thanks!

Hello everyone. You know me so glad it's Friday. I have the alarm set for 6am and I woke up at 5am thinking I was late because it was so light outside and then I couldn't remember if it was Friday or Saturday. I went to Body Bar class last night and it was great. I've noticed (and I know that not all men are like this) that the guys in the class have so much trouble doing the squats and lunges right. The teacher is always pointing out to make sure when doing the squats to stick your butt out like you're going to sit down in a chair, bend from the hips, and that your knees are behind your toes. These guys never have their legs far enough apart I think that's the problem. Anyway, I'm going to the gym for treadmill tonight - no class. I'm going to have to be my own motivator because I know I'll be bored 15 mins into it. Well, I don't have much to say today. Hope everyone has a great day and weekend.

Good Morning all,

I had a late appt. w/ my HMO regarding my voice (or lack thereof) and how to treat it. As suspected, I have congestion in my sinuses and because my sinuses are deeply situated in my head, I tend to drain more in the throat than through the nose like most people. So I have been prescribed a nasal inhaler and some antihistamines. The kicker is, get this, that I am to 'rest' my voice for the next 2 weeks. The doctor wants me to not give any presentations or lectures (hello?!?! That's what the school district pays me to do), to keep off the phone, to have short, abrupt conversations, not to sing, and to gargle with salt water 4-6 times a day! Yikes!!!!

I asked (well, whispered would probably be a better word) about working out and she actually thought it was a good idea. She said that moderate exercise can help loosen secretions which will help the sinuses. So today I popped in the Firm Maximum Body Shaping w/ Tracie Long. I have to admit that a couple of times I started chuckling with how dramatic things got in some parts of the tape. This week of 'light' exercise has made me miss Cathe and her down to earth, kick butt workouts.

Lori- Do you have all three Powerstrikes? Which is your favorite? How would you compare them to Cathe's kickbox workouts?

Cindee- I say if you want to go back to pyramids then go for it. You can always do supersets next week or adapt the rotation so you do weeks 1 & 2 twice, then on to 3 & 4 twice, etc. Isn't it wierd when you come enjoy a certain amount of pain and discomfort.

Kim- I used to get a kick out of the big beefy guys when I had a gym membership. Yeah, they may be buff but most of them had horrible form! As far as the lunges and squats, I've always wondered if the male hip structure worked against them for these exercises.

Haven't seen too many people around! Hellos to Brenda, Joy, Pinky (how's the trip going), Elizabeth, Tracy (how are things with the impending move), Shywolf, and Judy. I hope I remembered everyone!
 
Hello everyone,

I was going to more or less have a rest day today. I thought I'd just do yoga this morning. Well, I wound up sleeping in instead, but woke up feeling worse than if I had gotten up early. This has been a kind of bad day. Michael is still feeling poorly a lot of days, and this was one of them. We're taking steps to figure out what's going on, but I just wish he could feel well! It's getting him down. You know I started writing this thinking I'd say I'd had a bad day and I thought I'd do the yoga later to make me feel better, but I feel kind of guilty now that I've written about Michael!

Lori, have a great trip! I'm also interested in hearing about the Powerstrikes.

Sabine, are you going to attempt to follow the doctors instructions, or are you going to pick and choose? I would have a very hard time not talking. Have you had laryngitis before? I think you said you had. If so, what did you do then? Did it just go away in a few days? Maybe you should just try not to talk over the weekend, and see how you are on Monday. Also, I like the Maximum Body Shaping, but I've just not had any interest in doing the Firm since early last fall. I did order TLP's Core Foundations though.

Hello everyone!

Did Push-Pull plus the first three intervals from IMAX 2- felt good even though at the start I was feeling a bit tired. Doing another cardio tomorrow- maybe a longer interval one. We have a big annual festival here in town and DH and are going tomorrow to check out the street vendors and partake of some of the festival goodies (within reason of course...:)).

Sabine- I hope your voice comes back soon. Esp as you said, it's your livelihood. Take it easy this weekend and rest your voice. My laryngitis lasted about a week or so, less if I stopped talking which is a near impossibility!):p Take care!

Lisa- please don't feel bad about venting a bit. We know you're a great mom who loves her kids and who is also human. You've been through so much stress trying to take care of everyone, esp Michael at this time, that you need to be able to unload a little. And the best way to take care of those you love is to take care of yourself first. I'm sending some healing thoughts your way for Michael to get better very soon. Please keep us posted. Hope you feel better soon, too.

Thank you so much for your words and thoughts. I am feeling much better, by the way, at least physically!

I like your Push Pull/IMAX 2 combo. I might try that this weekend! Actually, I was thinking about Body Max. I've never done it, and I may be crazy to think I'm up for it, but I may just give it a shot. I'll let you know how I do!

Well I've been doing the Timesavers this week and I plan on doing Cathe's April rotation starting this Monday except for the last week which will be a combo of the Blast series w/ the intensity series.
Is anyone else doing that rotation?

Today was a rest day as my lil one had no school today so I treated her to a day out. I'm exhausted LOL, park then Chuck E Cheese's just wiped me out.

Tommorrow I plan on doing the TS #5 which is the all leg one.

Well the hubby picked up Shindler's List for me so I'm off to accompany my hubby on the sofa :)
 
Brenda, sorry I didn't answer your question from yesterday (I am seeing that I need to read all of the posts before checking in!) about the bikini. I ordered it from J Crew. The Gap has some cute ones on-line, too. I always get the brief-style bottoms (stretchmarks!) and a string-style top since a one-piece is just TOO MUCH TO WEAR south of the border. A couple of years ago we went with some friends and I talked her into bringing a bikini "just incase". It's all she wore! She said, "You were right! A one-piece would have been too hot!" I don't know what it is...I'd never wear one in the states, but in a foreign country...no problem.
