Bikini Body 3/23

Good Morning Ladies:
Wow, I can't believe somebody hasn't posted yet. I guess I'll start.
Went to step class last night. I'm glad to be back. I read an article in Prevention Magazine about heart rate recovery. It said to do your exercise and then take your pulse for 15 seconds x 4. Then wait 2 mins (resting) and take it again. Then subtract the two and if the number is less than 55 then you are more likely to have a heart attack. I did this last night and my number was 56. I was really shocked. Tonight is Body Bar and I bet I'm going to be sore tomorrow. Well, I guess I better get to work and do something. Everyone have a great day. :)

Kim,

Actually, I posted just a few minutes before you. To keep it in one thread, here's what I posted:

Hey everyone,

I thought I'd start this today. First, thank you all for your congrats for Michael. Today is the day he will be interviewed by the people judging the projects. Then, tonight, we'll get to go view all of the projects that were selected for the judging.

I did a light workout this morning. Don't laugh--I did Crunch Cardio Salsa. It was fun! I didn't get my heart rate up really, but I did sweat a little. I just wish I could move like the instructor can. I followed that with a 20 minute pilates abs workout, so I got a good hour in.

It was good to hear from you, Elizabeth, you've been away for a few days. Forgive me if you had said you were going to be away, and I just forgot.

Also, welcome, CinDee!

I'll add to what I said about doing the Salsa workout. I enjoyed it, but I'm itching to get back to longer, more intense workouts. I think I might to do all of Rhythmic Step one day this weekend. In the meantime, maybe I'll do the TS mix of KPC in the next day or two. I want to get moving!

Hellos to everyone! Have a great day!

Hi Everyone,
I am just getting home from work and I needed to clean up instead of workout. If only everyone would clean up after themselves I wouldn't be faced with this problem!
I think I am going to workout before dinner tonight.I need to do cardio and weights but I don't know if I will have enough time for both.My sister in law is comming home tonight with her baby and they get here around 9.I had hoped to do cardio now and then weights after dinner but its not working out like I planned.
Other then that, nothing new around this joint.Oh,I may be getting a new car today. Not new but new to be..but I am giving up a new car:-( We have talked about it for a while and we are paying $400 a month plus insurance for a car that I only take back and forth to work. Its alot of money tied up.We both don't need to have two new vehicles.Alot of times I park my car on Friday and it doesn't get moved anymore until Monday. Its only for around town,we always take the truck for long trips.Anyway,I love my old car.We bought her brand new so it was nice. When I think of me I feel some sort of emptiness but its only a car for cry'in out loud and we will save around $250 a month.
Anyway, we should know by the end of the day.I hope everyone else is having a good day.
I will check back later,
Lori:)

Good morning everyone,

I'm pleasantly sore from yesterday's KPC and extended ab workout. Ate only skinless chicken breast with vegetables last night and skipped the urge to snack a few hours later. Woke up to a wonderfully flat tummy (my period is coming to an end) and I'm starting to see a 4-pack again. It has been extremely tough keeping my eating MOSTLY clean.

Today will be upper body. Can't decide among PH, CTX-UB, or PS-UB. I'll just go with how I feel this afternoon.

I'll try to check in again later.

Hi Guys.
Sorry I've not posted since this past Friday I think. Anyway it's that TOM for me and I'm feeling rather bleh .

I meant to do a killer workout of SS followed by L&G on Saturday but the husband had other plans for us so we were out of town ...just looking for an entry way console and found nothing ...did go to Chili's over the weekend and had the Citrus chicken and shrimp ..subbed the rice for black beans and it was so tasty. That will be a favorite for me.

Then Yesterday I had planned on doing the Step portion of SJP followed by PP but I was just not in the mood. Today the same ..I feel as if I'm in a slump at the moment but I have no desire to do anything so I guess I'll call this an unplanned rest week. Tommorrow I have an eye appointment and god knows how long I'll be stuck there then on Thursday my son has his induction ceremony into the national Beta Club so I'll be running around on my workout time.

I have found that my family can be quite selfish of me during the times they are home. They never leave me alone or are in my workout space spralled out on the floor watching tv. My time is in the mid morning but alas it seems I don't want to .
I hope once the blahs and yucky feeling of aunt flo leave I'll be back re-energised and ready to exercise again.

One good point is that my eating has been pretty good considering the slump I'm in. Eh I look forward to the time I don't have to feel like this.

Take care all and maybe I'll surprise myself by doing some form of workout.

Good afternoon everyone-

Shywolf, I just read that its sometimes good to take a whole week off to get refocused on your fitness goals. I know what you mean about the family needing you, almost ALWAYS when I just start to workout. Today I was working out with the 2 & 3 yr olds fighting, pooping and emptying all my tape boxes and trying their hardest to make me stop. I kept going (PLB)except to change a diaper but had to tell them 100 times to leave the stability ball alone because they were throwing my balance off so badly. Not sure if that workout counts since I had no concentration. The older ones usually have something they need me to do "right now" and my husband when he is home on weekends rolls his eyes when I start to do a second workout.

Wow, I didn't realize that this hit such a nerve- Sorry for the rant...

OK, here's the workout I'm following: http://www.findarticles.com/cf_0/m0KGB/3_3/98592788/print.jhtml

Still trying to figure out details on which workouts are best- I did PLB and KPC this a.m. It says do cardio at 70% (40-60 minutes/4 times this week) but the Cathe workouts I really like are harder, so I think KPC is the one of the ones that doesn't get my heart rate up that high. Any suggestions?

My back and chest are pleasantly sore from ME yesterday- I really worked the chicken cutlets!

Are we all finishing our periods? I know that women who live together often get their TOM in sync but women who visit online??

CinDee, you said you're going to be in a bathing suit in 2 months, where are you going? We're going to Vegas and I'm planning on reading and lying by the pool for a long time so I want to like how I look in a suit!! Pinky, how far is Houston from Vegas? We have a friend who lives there who we'd like to have join us and I thought it might be a quick plane trip.

Kim, what's the Body Bar class you take?

Gotta go, the house is a mess- I have piles of clean laundry everywhere that need to be put away which I hate doing. At this time of year I end up emptying out closets of winter clothes, finding spring things and making a bigger mess which takes forever to go away... ugh. Not to mention the regular day to day mess that seems to be getting worse.
That's rant #2.

Hellos to Joy, Sabine, Lisa, Elizabeth, Tracy, Judy & Lori (please forgive me if I forgot anyone).

Brenda

Good Morning everyone,

Woke up with unexpected DOM's from PLB yesterday. I say unexpected because I didn't feel like I was straining very much yesterday while lifting and made a mental note to self to increase weight next time I do the workout. But my quads and butt are feeling it today so maybe not!

This morning was CIA 9905 Step workout with Franny Benedetto. Overall, I really like the workout and think that the choreography is challenging and very interesting. Didn't think Franny's cueing was that great on some moves and sometimes the way she introduced the move was harder than the way the move turned out in the combinations. The stretching was almost non-existent. I would have cut the ab segment and just had a longer stretching segment. And like I said, despite these flaws, I really enjoyed the workout!

Good to see you Shywolf! That TOM can really zap my energy level. Take the week off (especially because you've been doing some AMAZING workouts in the past couple of weeks) and I'm sure you'll be good to go!

Good job Lisa after being sick for so long! Seems like you're getting ready to resume your usual activity level. You have been so wise to tone it down so you could fully recover.

Gotta run. More data to pour over!

Hey everyone - just time for a "quickie"! I have been so busy I haven't been online for days. Just finished up Imax, and yesterday I did timesaver #5 (which is the leg work) so I am still following Sabine's rotation (to the best of my ability). Tomorrow I'm going to do PLB. Everyone's talk about clean eating is making me feel guilty - I have been eating very poorly - skipping meals because I'm busy and then snacking on junk when I realize I'm ravenous. I have got to cut that out!

Sorry I can't say anymore - gotta run.

Brenda:

It's a new class offered at the gym I go to. It's 1 hour and includes circuit training (mainly weights) We do upper and lower body strength with weighted bars I've been using the 12 lb and 15 lb and then inbetween muscle groups we do a little bit of basic step to keep our heart rates going (lunges, running up on step, jumping jacks) I really love the class. I've noticed a little more tightness in my hamstrings and upper body. Anyway, thanks for asking.

Kim

Thank you for the welcome! This will be super-quick since I have to get to the Y (homeschool thinging). I also did PLB and the CTX kickbox and my legs are sore! I wanted to do a S&H week, but the xbox won't play it for some reason. So this week will be plb, pub, ll, and ctx ub. Brenda, we're going off to Mexico, and one-piece suits feel like a straightjacket in the heat, so it's gotta be the bikini, stretch-marks notwithstanding. Today will be pub and some sort of cardio. Gotta go!
