Hello ladies,

I'm checking in very early this morning. Nice sore in my upper body after yesterday's PUB. However, I won't be able to work out this weekend as my husband got this weekend wanderlust. We're driving to Houston today to spend the weekend with some friends and coming back tomorrow.

Have a good weekend and great workouts, everyone.

HI Everyone,
Well...I am still alive:) Are you surprised?
The night went pretty well actually.LIke I said before they were all good kids so I was hoping that they would be good together.I took them bowling from 7-8 ,then they played games, ate pizza, and watched a movie.BY that time it was 12:30 and we made them go to sleep.I could still hear them whispering around 1 but I fell asleep after that. And they didn't wake up until 7:45.
They are still here but I am waiting for their parents to come and pick them up.
There was only one little girl that was out of control most of the time but I knew that right from the beginning. We had to speak to her about 5 times and be really stern with her.I find that difficult when it isn't your own child. And you don't want the kid to go back and tell their parents that you were mean to them or got mad at them but chances are, if they were bad, they aren't going to tell their parents anyway. But she needed to be put in her place. She was a s^%t distriber. She would turn the lights off if they girls wanted them on,and vice versa.Shw would take their things.I think she is one of those kids that as to have everyones attention ALL of the time and she will do whatever it takes. And she probably doesn't care about reaction she is getting either just as long as she gets one.But she is still just a kid....hopefully she will grow out of it before she becomes a teen or she may bot have many friends.
I am not sure what workout I will be doing today.I have to clean up this mess before I do anything, and I may move around my furniture b/c its all moved around anyway.
I will check back later...

Just finished the third week of my tank top arms/beach butt rotation with Cardio and Weights. I love this workout a lot and think that it was not the best place in the rotation to include it. This was the 4th time this week doing upper body and it was too much for me! My arms were really tired and I had to drop down in what I was lifting just to get through it. If I ever do this rotation again, I'll either move this workout to another week or just skip it all together and substitute with a pure cardio workout.

Glad to hear you survived the slumber party, Lori. What, no fingers dipped in warm water making someone wet their sleeping bag, no face painting the first girl to fall asleep? :p

Have a great time in Houston Pinky!

Not sure who else is going to be around this weekend, so hellos to 'the usual suspects'.:)

Off to eat breakfast and get some cleaning done and laundry started.

Hello eveyone!

Guess what, no pilates today! I did do the warmup and the first combo of Rhythmic Step. I love that workout! I haven't done it since around Thanksgiving, and was pleasantly surprised that I did pretty well with the choreography. I goofed a few times, but was able to keep right on. I love it! And, while I could tell there's a little something still in my chest, I think I managed pretty well. Then, I did Push Pull. I went lower on most of the weights. For instance, Cathe uses a 40 lb barbell, I used 30 lbs. I did push on the biceps, and used 12 lb dbs as she did, and did fine. I finished up with a little extra ab work: the side crunches on the ball from Supersets, and the bonus abs from TS#2 (I think), to see if I could still do pikes on the ball. I did them all except for the last four; I could tell I was tired, and just did the roll ins. All in all, I think I did well. That's only the second time I've done that workout. It's good.

Lori, I'm glad the slumber party went well. It sounds like you showed them a great time, and I think you handled the situation just fine with the one girl that would not behave.

Pinky, I hope you had a safe trip to Houston, and that you have a lot of fun there. Regarding your trip home, did you say you're leaving on the 29th? I know you're excited about that.

Sabine, thanks for the comments on 5004. I think that I will try the hi-lo tomorrow, and then do some pilates. I don't think I've said that I've met Christi Taylor. She used to teach in Bowie, MD. I met her last March, when she was there for an instructor training class, and then went to see her film the two Solid Gold workouts last year. It was very cool, but what a long day for her! Most of her crew only did one workout or the other, but she filmed everything in that one day. I'd love to see another filming of hers (or Cathe's!). Hey, did you notice that the set in 7002 is the same as Cathe's wedding video?

Anyway, time to get the kids ready for bed. Have a great weekend!

Good Morning Ladies,
It is finally feeling alittle like Spring outside. There is still LOTSA snow out there, but it seems to be a little milder and you can hear the water dripping from the roof of the house.:) I wish it was pouring off of the house.
Yesterday was an o.k day. I didn't do much of anything. And I hate those kinds of days.I was lazy, there wasn't a meal eaten at the right time....and it wasn't the right food either.I felt like trash.I was picking at b-day cake all day, and choc, then I had some fries and chicken nuggets from McDonalds. Then dinner was a disaster!I was leaning towards taking yesterday off but I WANTED to workout.I felt like I had been lying around all day and thats not what my body was meant to do.I started off with the intentions of a small run, then I got up to 30 and I thought..lets go for 40 min, then when I looked I was at 46 min....then I thought lets go for 6 miles (62 min).I felt alot better after that.
I am not sure what workout I will be doing today.Im thinking weights and cardio.I think I would like to do a total body workout, but I may just stick to upper or lower body. And I have to go get groceries.Groceries are such a waste of money, don't ya think? We would have alot of money if we didn't have to eat.;)
Anyway,I hope everyone is having a good weekend.
Lori:)

HI everyone,
I just wanted to check back and post my workout.
I started with ME and I think I forgot how tough that one is.All those leg presses, I guess it didn't help that I used a 15 lb weight instead of a 10 lb plate.I was really feeling it and it was wiping me out.I was having one of those days where I thought the workout was never going to end.I then did a 2 mile run.I think I am going to do some more cardio tonight while DH is playing hockey.I just wanted to get my system up and running before I started my day.
Sabine-the girls are to young to know about the fingers in warm water trick.Does that really work? I have never tired it before.Im not about now either.Just wait until they get older, it will probably get messier.
Lori:)

Good Morning everyone,

While today is technically my rest day, I wound up doing Tamilee Webb's Total Stretch for Flexibility and Relaxation. I always talk of adding on stretching segments to workouts or taking my 'rest' day to work on flexibility and decided to back up my statements by actually doing something! A great stretching workout! It was a wonderful way to start out a Sunday.

Today theweather has turned very overcast and it is a lot cooler than it has been for the past couple of weeks. I will spend today finishing up laundry and some cleaning I didn't get around to yesterday. I may head to Target to look at buying some tubing and what exercise DVD's they have. I also need to tackle my taxes and get some things read to post in the mail tomorrow. Lots of little projects to keep me occupied.

Lori, I have never seen or been the victim of the hand-in-warm-water-makes-someone-pee trick but I have heard from others that as long as the water is not too hot, yes, it does work. Or is it one of those things that as a kid you said it worked just because you wanted to appear cool or didn't want to admit that you failed at it and now it seems to be fact that this stunt does work when in reality it doesn't. Who knows!;-)

Hellos all around!

Happy Sunday everyone~
Today looks like it will be a quiet workout day, maybe some upper body sets on my own between folding laundry. Friday I started to do ME and realized I had done it earlier in the week so I did MIC and Power Hour. Yesterday I felt the same way, Lori- I was really looking forward to a workout so I did Imax2 and then my husband and I went out for drinks (all those empty caloriesx( ).

Oh yeah, Lori, congrats on getting through the slumber party- having it on a Friday was a smart idea so you had the rest of your weekend to look forward to!

Tracy, my DH is going through an open house as we speak and I have a horrible feeling he's going to want me to go walk through. I can't imagine boxing everything up so I am definatly having empathy pains for you.

Pinky, when are you leaving and for how long?

Now, I have to ask all of you... I've been working out pretty hard, eating fairly cleanly and feel pretty good (i.e. my jeans fit nicely) but I got on the scale today and it said I was 7 lbs heavier!!! I know muscle weighs more than fat but I was shocked. Pinky, I know you had worked out to put weight on- what was your experience? I'm not getting on the scale again for a while.

Thank you all for your recommendations for Pilates- I'm going to check it our this week.

Hope everyone has a great remainder of the weekend (Monday comes too fast!)

Brenda
