Good Morning Ladies,
Only one more sleep till the dreaded slumber party! I better double up on sleep tonight:) Although last nights sleep wasn't the best.I fell asleep on the couch and thats whrere I woke up.DH tried to get me up but it wasn't happening. When I woke up at 7 my neck hurt and I realizd how uncomfortable I was.I am feeling better now that I have my coffee and I have been up for a while.
I think I may just do cardio today or circuit.I am confused with calling stuff "circuit" b/c the only circuit I know is what Cathe as on video. But then I was reading something the other day and circuit was weight lifting. But my term of circuit training is always going to be cardio and weights.
So,I may do circuit max with some runs involoved.I am going to try to do it soon b/c I should run to the mall and get the rest of the things I need for the party.
WhenI woke up today,my car was covered in snow againx( Is there ever going to be an end? The snow bank in front of my house as to be atleast 25 feet high.We live on a turn so when the snow plow comes he as to back up and do the turn again, so anything that he may not have got the first time, he gets the second time.
We are going away in 2 weeks time for 4 days and I was wondering last night how can I fit my workouts in while I am away.We are going to be staying with family and I am hoping that they live in a quite neighbourhood and I can do some running.Either that or I will have to eat really clean while I am gone and you know how hard that can be when you are on ANY form of holiday.
Anyway, thats about it for me.I am going to tidy up my house a little and start working out!
Have a good day...
Lori

Good Morning!

Almost Friday (can't wait). I haven't worked out one bit this week. It's that T.O.M. and I think I've realized that it's OK for me to not workout this week. I've always beat myself up about missing but I thought since I work my butt off 6 days a week for 3 weeks what's the harm in taking a few days off to rest. That way I don't get burned out and I always look forward to my workouts. My eating has been pretty good. I went to Weight Watchers yesterday and I've lost the 3 pounds I gained 2 weeks ago so I didn't have to pay. Yeah! Oh, get this. Somebody brought fresh, hot Krispy Kreme doughnuts into the office this morning and I haven't had one yet. I swear I'm going to have to smack that person for bringing them in. UGH!!!

Hope everyone has a great day!
Kim

Hi ladies,

Kim, congratulations on successfully keeping yourself away from those doughnuts. I've been fighting my recent TOM-related sweet tooth by eating navel oranges -- with some of the peel because it's filling. And I'm proud to say my eating these last three days have been 90% clean.

Lori, sorry about all that snow. Goodness, when WILL it end? It's going to be in the 80's out here, for cryin' out loud. Good luck with your daughter's party.

This morning I did KPC and am now feeling a nice burn in my outer thighs and outer glutes. I'm thinking of doing some yoga later to balance it all out. Two nights ago I did yoga for the back using my Yoga for Athletes DVD. The menu said it was only 30 minutes long but the whole thing turned out to be twice that long. It was worth it though. It might sound weird, but after just that one long session, where the poses were held for a minute or two -- and that's long, when you're limbs are suspended in mid-air while your spine is bent or twisted -- my spine feels straighter.

Lisa, thank you for inspiring me to put in more yoga and some Pilates in the mix. :)

Have a good day everyone,
Pinky

Hey eveyone,

I did The Method Target Specifics this morning--a good blend of pilates, ballet and yoga. I felt great when I was done. I know I said the other day I'd do the Firm to get back into weights, but I'm thinking about doing Push Pull one day this weekend, and a short cardio the other day, to try to ease back into it. I'm also tempted to try Baron Baptiste's Hot Yoga Vol. 2. It's supposed to be pretty intense, but I think I'm up for it. Hey, I must be feeling better if I'm planning my workouts for two and three days from now.

Pinky, I'm happy you're enjoying the yoga and Pilates. I'm sure that the yoga would make your spine feel straighter. I wanted to ask you about the Suzanne Deason (I know I'm not spelling her last name right) yoga for women. I have several yoga videos. I was wondering if it would be worth it to get that one or not.

Lori, we had snow flurries here in MD yesterday, but it's supposed to be gradually getting warmer over the next few days.

I hope everyone's doing well.

Good evening everyone~

Quick question- what's a good yoga/pilates workout? I've done Pilates before w/an instructor and wasn't that impressed and would finish thinking that I didn't really do anything except work my core. With the latest discussion I'm wondering if I should give it another try on my own. How SHOULD you feel when you're finished? I've gotten so used to getting done w/a workout and feeling like I did something tough and I'm not sure I can get rid of that mentatlity. Any suggestions?

Took yesterday off and went out for St Patty's day- actually had a lot of energy today to do StepBlast (I needed to burn off the brownies I ate when I got homex( ) and I'm going to work on abs tonight.

Is anyone currently using weighted gloves w/your workouts? I'm wondering if that may help give an extra boost to my cardio. ??

Almost Friday...

Hope you're all having a nice Thursday.

Brenda

I just read the thread on Winsor Pilates- have any of you tried this? I've seen the infomercial but that doesn't sell me anymore.

Hey everyone! I am checking in even though I have nothing to report. I ended up taking the day off today, I was just feeling wiped out - too many intense workouts, not enough sleep, too much stress. Went over to my girlfriend's house where we let the kids run wild while we made pizza and drank some red wine (that's healthy, right?!) I feel sooooo much better now (and that's not just the wine talking!)

Brenda - I have two Winsor Pilates videos, a lower body workout and an abs workout. I can't remember the specific names, but I'll check if you're interested. My mom bought them for me right after I had my last baby - I was never too crazy about them. They were okay when I was first post-partum, because I was just laying there, but after I got up and moving and back with Cathe, I never felt like they were doing anything. I'd be happy to send them to you if your interested in checking them out (heck! I could drive them out to you! Chevy Chase isn't so far if its not during rush hour)
Anyways, I definitely need to jump on Lisa and Pinky's bandwagon and start doing some yoga and stretching. The only yoga workouts I have are Karen Voight's Yoga Sculpt and that PM Yoga ( I forget who that's by). So please keep up with the recommendations!

Tomorrow is ME and I am excited for it - it's amazing what a day off can do for your mind and body!
Have a great night everyone
Tracy

Checking in late today! Thursday's are always my early days at the elementary school and when I get home I usually need at least an hour to detox from the experience. Today was VERY excited kindergartners who had to do a musical performance. I am tired!

Today I did Christi Taylor's 5004 hi/lo from the Humble Beginnings DVD. It was weird to see Christi wearing butt floss! And her hair was so much darker back then. It's a good workout although not as complex choreography wise as her recent stuff and not as long (clocked in at 37 minutes total!). Lisa, I believe you were asking about the Humble Beginnings DVD. This is the only one of the six workouts I've done thus far. Since you're looking to ease back into things, this might one to consider that is not so intense and not so long!

I must have been sensing everyone's interest in stretching/yoga/pilates today because I popped in AM Stretch with Madeleine Lewis after the cardio. It felt really wonderful and did get me ready for my day. I even think it helped loosen up the tension in my neck because I have been feeling pretty loose all day long. I definitely need to find more ways to incorporate stretching/yoga into my routine!

I'm really craving Oreo's as of late. Did not succumb to the buy one get one free offer at the grocery store and instead settled on a Luna Bar and a glass of vanilla soy milk. SIGH!!!!

Hey cold weather gals. I hope the sun comes out soon along with some warmer weather. After having a very warm week out here in CA I have to admit that I'm not quite ready for the constant warm weather yet. I actually find myself missing the cooler temperatures and the rain (we don't get snow in the SF bay area). How about we switch for a couple of weeks?

Everyone sounds like they're having a great week. Tracy, I'll be doing ME with you tomorrow. Just love this workout! I'm looking forward to it.

Take care all,

HI Gals,
Just a quick check-in.I did circuit max and a 40 min run today.I am now decorating for the party tomorrow night.I don't think my brain as gotten much oxygen in the last couple of hours.

I may workout tomorrow morning before work b/c I won't get to workout other wise. So, I will probably start the check in REALLY early...or I may decide to sleep in:)
