Good Morning Ladies,
I don't like being the first one to always post but I think with the time difference,I am probably always the first one up!:)
I didn't get to do much yesterday, besides for work.I got home around 9 and had to start tidying up the mess.My brother and father are living with me while they have work here in town.I don't see much of them b/c they are usually gone in the mornings before I get up and they go to bed pretty early as well. All I have is dishes,as reminders that they live with me.Its not to bad though. We are going away the first of April so the money that they give me,is going towards our trip.
So,yesterday was an unplanned rest day.But I have the morning off to make up for what I missed.I plan on doing what I was suppose to do yesterday.I don't know if I want to be sore again!!!!!!!!!!! Im only just getting over PLB! Now my upper body as to hurt again!
My little girl as a sleep over tonight so I think we are going to do something with our friends. The tomorrow night I have a going away party.AND I work all day tomorrow;(
Brenda-I used 50 lbs plus the weight of the barbell for 8 reps in PLB.It didn't feel to bad at the time b/c it was only 8 reps. The worse part was getting it up to my shoulders. But I was so sore the next day and even yesterday my inner thighs were hurting.Whoever came up with the slogan "no pain,no gain" Does that really have to be true?
Pinky-I hope your son is feeling better.
Judy- Do you want some company on your trip? Who said 3 was a crowd?
Sabine- Tell us how many cookies you ate?
Kim- I am glad to hear you are doing well.I have never been to a gym to REALLY workout, I have always wondered would I like it.Part of me thinks that it wouldn't be as hard as Cathes workouts and then there is another part of me that is afraid I will like it and want to go all the time.
Tracy-How is the packing going?
Shywolf-We sound like we are in the same boat today.Doubling up on what we missed yesterday.I think you gave me an idea to do S,J&P today.Even though that one isn't that hard,I love it!
Well ladies...we are getting more snow here today. I am telling you,I don't think we will ever see the lawn again. We need some nice mild days or rain, to get rid of some of this. And that would only help me see out my window again.
Anyway,Hope I didn't miss anyone.I will check back later!
Lori:)

Wow my post was long this morning.I didn't even look at it after I posted it.I don't blame you if you don't want to read it!
I just finshed my workout.I did PUB and 1/2 IMAX and a 40 min run.Now its time to get ready for work!
Chat to you soon,
Lori:)

I read your whole post Lori. Hearing from you and others is a nice part of my daily routine.
Well, I am trying to get more flexability training as per the posts over on Ask Cathe.
Last night I printed out Cathe's reply on stretching exercises. This AM I did a 45" interval bike workout and then tried to to all her stretches. I got through many of them, but I had a time limit so I didn't finish. The ones I did do felt helpful.
Tomorrow is probably a rest day and very busy with family. I may not get to the forums.
Have a good exercise day everyone;-)

FINALLY FRIDAY!!! It has been slow here at work I'm ready for the weekend. I went to my Body Bar class last night and WOW she worked us hard. I stuck with my 15 pound bar for most of the class. There isn't a class on Friday (except spinning) at the club so tonight would normally be a night off for me but I'm thinking of putting in a Cathe workout just so I can do something. Then Saturday will be Step class and maybe the yoga afterwards. Not sure about the yoga. It's 90 mins and I don't know if I want to spend 2 1/2 hours working out.
Lori, for me the classes at the gym are more challenging to me only because when I am getting tired and feel like quiting and the teacher says "Come on, don't give up on me." I will keep going until the end. If I was at home and that happened I would quit and go sit on the couch. I think the Cathe workouts are the best home workouts out there. I wish I could go visit one of her classes sometime.
We had our new shower doors put in this morning so I took half day off. And Monday I've got my annual check-up at the "woman" doctor. Man, I'd rather go to the dentist and get a cavity filled than this. Ugh!!! I have the whole weekend to look forward to it x(
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Kim

Good Morning all,

The nice weather in CA has really started to aggravate my allergies (I'm allergic to molds and spores). I am EXHAUSTED even though I took a nap yesterday and got 10 hours of sleep last night. So far I haven't worked out and may take this as my rest day and pick up with PS Legs and Abs tomorrow. I'll have to see how I'm feeling later on today.

Lorihart, I don't mind the long posts. It's nice to get a little bit of extra insight into the lives of my cyber friends. BTW, no cookies at the PTA gig. I was sooooo disappointed.

Judy- have fun on your trip.

Kim- I used to have a gym membership for many years (gave it up about a year ago). After a while I found reasons not to go to the gym whereas when the workout equipment is right there in my house along with some kick butt videos, my excuses just don't seem to make sense. I'm a more dedicated exerciser now that I work out at home. I think it's so cool that there are some many fitness options out there so that everyone can find there niche.

Hi's to Joy, Brenda, Shywolf, Pinky, Elizabeth, Lisa, Tracy, and Lorisax!

Hi everyone,

Lori, I don't mind you posting first all the time. Thanks for asking about my son. He's much better now, and is back in school. I kinda envy you for your PLB workout. I miss that workout terribly.:( I'm impressed with that 50-lb. load. I don't think you should have pain to gain, but just listen to the kind of pain you have. Bad vs. good and all that...:)

Sabine and Tracy, thank you so much for your wonderful, encouraging notes yesterday. I'm in a slump and trying real hard to fight it. I hope I win. Uhm... I KNOW I'll win. It's just a matter of time.:)

Judy and Kim, it's nice to see you around. Keep posting please. I'd like to get to know you guys better.

Yesterday was KPC. I started doing the jacks this time. (Last time I only did those high and low jogs for intensity.) I also did the jumps in the combos -- not too high though -- and always made it a point not to snap or thrust too hard when kicking. Keep my knee bent a little to protect it.

Today was Step Blast. First time I did it on a 4" step. Kept everything low except for the reverse hop in combo one and the double ricochet in combo two. Can't find modifications for them. If you have any, please let me know. Other than that, I kept everything low, even the blasts -- did squats instead of plyo jacks, alternating leg lifts (backwards) instead of high jumps, marches for jump ropes... Funny how the whole SB routine felt more difficult than the blasts.:)

I guess that covers my cardio for the week. The first time in many weeks that I did three instead of just one. I'm not sure what I'll feel like doing tomorrow.

Have a great weekend everybody,
Pinky

Hi everyone~
I'm still not sure what I'm going to do now- the day is getting away from me already. Maybe BootCamp or Imax1.

Judy, I assume you'll be packing for your trip this weekend- have fun!!

Hope you all have a good day- I may not post again till Monday, busy weekend ahead...

Brenda

Bonjour Mes Amies!

(Felt like using some of my HS French today...:)) Well, I worked out Mon-Weds but developed an internal strain and was told to not lift heavy and to rest for a few days. So I plan on getting back into it next week.

Sabine- sorry to hear there weren't any of the yummy choc chip cookies there- I love them, too. Hey, I can send you some next time I make them, OK?:) Sorry to hear about your allergies and hope you can feel better soon. BTW, do you have an air cleaner in your home? It makes a big difference and really catches those nasty spore, dust particles, etc. Just a thought... please take care!

Pinky- sorry your son was sick. Is he doing better now? I understand how it is to be in a slump and can certainly empathize. But I know you'll get through this one- you're tough! I've found that slumps have been beneficial to me in that it gives me the time to evaluate where I am, how I'm doing and feeling and to possibly change up my routine a bit or stay where I am. You'll get through this rough patch. Take care!

Lisa- hope your son is doine well. Poor kid- but he sounds like such a trooper! Pilates is s really good workout plus it helps in stress reduction and flexility work. Hope you had a good trip!

Kim- hello and welcome- I'm new here as well. Sounds like you're doing some great workout sessions- keep up the terrific work! I've added a 15min yoga stretch after my Cathe w/o's (well, most times anyway!...:p) and it feels wonderful!

Brenda- we're planning a trip to Vegas early May. It's a fun city- loads to do and see but gotta admit, after a few days, I'm more than ready to come home...:)

Judy- enjoy your trip with DH! BTW, how's the stretching coming along?

Hellos to Shywolf, Joy and Tracy- hope I didn't leave anyone out. Have a good weekend everyone!

Elizabeth

Hello Ladies;

Well it's Friday and I'm sooo ready for the weekend. I don't need to get up at 5 ish to get the kids ready for school :)

Today I wanted to double up and do SJP and intervals 6-10 of IMAX2.
Well I did SJP and was able to match Cathe in all but those biceps I just can't get to 25 pounds the entire set. I LOVE my Troy lite though as I noticed a BIG difference in doing biceps though . On my Firm one I could only go up to 17 # but today I went up to 25 # ( both weightage on those bars felt the same) so I was able to go up in weight although my biceps were fried and I just could not lift on the last set with 25#. That's a big improvement and now I know why everyone was saying you can go heavier ...I'm so glad I got that bar. I have not even used my Firm padded one since I got my Troy :)

Well after I had finished SJP I was ready for IMAX2 but I could not find the darned dvd. I was so upset and I searched everywhere in the house even in my linen closet. Finally I just was so cooled down I decide the heck with it and called it a day. I finally found the dvd upstairs in my daughter's room behind her tv stand. UGH! I'm sooo glad I found it but I had a devil of a time looking for it .

So that was my day , now I need to start fixing dinner early just in case the hubby and I go out for a couple of drinks tonight.
