is anyone watching right now? they have old contestants on to see who has kept the weight off. they all look amazing. i'm so addicted to this show. it is so motivating. i often watch the re-runs for inspiration. i'm so excited that the new season is starting and that they are having 3 trainers.

yeah that is sad. it is no easy task and it makes me feel good about myself that i have been able to keep the weight off for 7 yrs. it is a constant battle.

I watched it last night. They all looked good. I didn't watch season 1, but I do watch the repeats.

I like the 3 trainer aspect. Jillian is hardcore, at first I really liked her but I think I like Kim more. And Bob is always great!!

I love to watch it and see the transformations.

And then the Contender started up again last night, that is another one of my favs. SugarRay cut a guy last night because he was 30lbs overweight for the class and he didn't want him to lose the weight in an unhealthy manner to be able to compete. They were more concerned with his overall health than his skills to become a world class fighter.

Sorry went a little off topic.:)

OK - where are you watching these? Is it on regular station or cable somewhere? I love the Biggest Loser and The Contender, so I'd like to find out when their on.

Thanks,
Tricia

Both are on cable on Tuesday nights.
Biggest Loser is NBC, next week is 2hr special starts at 8pm, and the Contender is on ESPN at 10pm on Tuesdays but it also re airs several times during the week.

Biggest Loser reruns are either on Bravo or Style at all different times.

HTH:)

Did you notice that on The Biggest Loser that they exercised 4 - 6 hours a day? I can't imagine doing that or can I imagine my body lasting through that! :7

not to put down the biggest loser contestants but it goes to show you that endless hours of exercise won't produce you great results. 4-6 hrs a day is so unrealistic for most people. by saying it on the show, it makes people who want to lose weight feel like they won't ever be able to do it b/c they don't have the time.

I agree. I have found out thru trial and error that it's all about working smarter not harder. It has been a lesson that I constantly have to remind myself of. The monotony of routine or hummdrum exercise is not nearly as effective as exercise that has been pre-planned and well thought out. Tony & Cathe have taught me this......I wish they would get this concept across in the show.
It would be nice if they would also emphasize the fact that the body rebuilds and repairs during rest and not during the workout. It would be interesting to hear how much sleep they get while doing the show.

I have never watched the show & only heard negative things about Jillian Michaels but I recently stumbled across her DVD set for beginners.I hurt my back & thought I would do some easy workouts for a few weeks so I picked it up.I have to say this DVD set is exceptional. There is nothing beginner about them except for the detailed explanation of the exercises & the muscles you are targeting. The workout consists of 6 circuits which you repeat 3 times - cardio followed by 10 reps of the body part you are working. The movements are slow & controlled so you can completely heavy up.The cardio you can go all out as it is simple patterns like skaters up / down step etc.. I love love love it.The only think missing on this workout is a cool down stretch wich is essential and so important for someone beginning an exercise program.
Cheers
Chris
