I watched the Oprah show but never watch Biggest Loser. I have a problem with the chronic exercise/starvation and an even bigger problem with the way the weight (naturally) comes off so fast. There's no way people can go home and maintain what they did to slim down so regain is virtually guaranteed. Another thing that really bothers me is that women don't have testosterone, can't build muscle like men and, since more muscle equals more fat burn the show is inherently biased in favor of the men. The women have to work so much harder to get the big prize. I would love it if the one winning woman had been permitted to go into detail about what she's doing now to keep trim. Yea, I can't stomach(!) The Biggest Loser. So much about that show feels so wrong to me.
As for lose skin, I don't really know anyone personally who went from extremely obese to slender from diet and exercise so I don't know about their lose skin issues. However, I think we all know people who did gastric bypass, the band, or drastic dieting who lost weight FAST and unnaturally who wound up with massive sagging skin issues. I wonder if, maybe, sagging skin is hardly an issue (or no issue at all?) for obese people who get the weight off the right way? If I knew anyone who went from one extreme to the other slowly, from diet and exercise, I could make a judgement. All I know is I went from size 24 to 14 (back to 16 now...), which I know isn't real extreme, and I had no sagging skin and, in fact, was told I "glow" now. A lot of people remarked on the obvious healthiness in my change. I still have a long way to go but I really think HOW you lose weight makes all the difference, though I have no proof.
