Hope everyone is feeling better today too!

SJP abs and planks

Meals so far:
Muesli cereal w/flaxseed,wheat germ and honey (haven't found bee pollen in store yet...any suggestions for this?)

s: cottage ch,apple w/cinnamon
L: tuna salad
s: myoplex bar or shake
D: WH W pasta w/turkey meatballs, salad

Water,Water and more Water!

Gayle: How does Ab Ripper compare to Cathe's Ab Hits? Which workout would you say comes close?

Hi Heidi! I think I will be adding iTread 24 to my shopping cart...you keep talking about it! LOL As for Ab Ripper X, I'm not sure anything really compares to it. Tony has you do 11 different exercises, each with 25 reps. But they're all hard stuff. lol It's a total of about 15 minutes....hip lifts, scissors with legs switching one up and one down (not your normal bicycles), a sort of rocket-shoots from Cathe, but with legs in froggy style, leg climbs where one leg is on the ground and the other one is up and you climb your leg to touch your toe, oblique twists (he calls them Mason Twists). It's tough and I was breathing hard! lol

Hi Gayle: }( }( }( Ohhh a must try! I try to work my abs about everyday. I am totally determined to get that ripped ab look! :)

Since I have been doing this challenge my jeans are needing belts big time or I will have to break down and get new ones. I hate spending money on clothes because the styles change way too quickly for me to keep up. I wish I could get away with just wearing mens clothes. Theirs at least remains constant style wise and cost a heck of a lot less! Not Fair....

I am still waiting on my DS to get ready for school. He is going to be really late today! This throws my whole day off as well. Planned on my run this morning after he left but now I don't know... Ahhhh its 9:18am!

Time to get going. BBL

Good morning Heidi and Gayle,
I am going to have to get my workout in later since to day is home school day and I don't do anything but that.I really get spoiled when these children are at school.
Heidi~I like hearing about needing to use a belt.I hear you on those clothes. It is good just to wear classic looks and splurge every once in a while on the other styles.Did I tell you I went to buy something new for myself and bought clothes for my 10 year old DH instead. It was fun.
I wish I could join y'all on the running but I don't like to run and just this past summer I sold my treadmill. It was out in the garage forever. The cat urinated on it and we could not get rid of the smell. So we put it in the garage and couldn't smell it.It was still usable but I don't like to run.

Hi Ladies~ :) Wow, what a morning ( I knew I should of stayed home today..LOL ).. And it's not over yet!

Got in a great LBWO last night. I was going to do BBC Legs, but decided to pull out GS Legs .. I love this DVD. Them dang slow motion lunges at the end get you everytime, don't they. I was feeling the burn good .. and probably cursing her along the way .. :) :) (sorry Cathe).
Tonight is HIIT. Planning on Imax 3 (first 5 intervals). I was going to hit the gym and do the treadmill, but since I am working on the C25K Plan, I will leave the running to my weight days! I wanted to get to Yoga today, but I don't think that is going to happen, hopefully one day this week ... I would love to start taking it at least twice a week.
What other Cathe DVD's would you consider Intervals (or HIIT style)? Low Max, Imax's, Step Blast, Step & Intervals, ....any others?

Colleen ~ I am so sorry to hear about your injury. How are you feeling today? Take it easy, that isn't something to mess around with. My best friend recently had surgery done on her back for herniated disc's and is still in a lot of pain! Hope you feel better .. {{{{HUGS}}}} :)

Gayle~ Great workout! Don't you just love ARX, this is one of the P90x DVD I did keep, all others I sold....now I am wishing I didn't...But you know how that goes! After I am done w/ the C25K plan, I would love to try out some of the Cardio Coaches or iTread...They seem great!

Heidi~ Great meal plan for today :) I will have to pull out SJP again, how is the ab work in this? It's rainy here in PA also...It's supposed to clear up though, hopefully! :)
Have a great workout! Enjoy! :) Congrats on your jeans fitting loser, don't you love it!

I don't know what it is w/ this challenge, but I seem to be better connected...if that makes any sense. I think I finally came to terms with, this is a Body for Life, and not just a 12-week program. I was always pushing myself just to make it past 12 weeks and then I can have a break.
I seem more focused on my weights & cardio... I noticed that doing GS Legs last night. I was more focused putting my weight in my heels... it does make a huge difference. :) And, I'm sure adding in Yoga to my routine will help me out further!

Having some issues on the home front. My boyfriend's Corvette broke down over the weekend... :( Spoke to the mechanic today and the verdict is $3-$4K to fix. Oh boy!! :( This is not good! And the holidays are right around the corner.....When it rains it pours, doesn't it? Weight is still up, but it did go down .5pds since yesterday. I am not going to worry about it, I know my eating is 100% clean and my workouts are getting in...TTOM is nearing very soon, I am used to gaining weight, but it still bothers me. I know throw away the darn scale :)

Off to pick up my contacts...BBL to check in~

Sorry for the long drawn out post :)
XoXo

Hi Veronika,

I hope you have a great day of teaching with your kids.

Sorry to hear about your cat....they can be unpredictable!

It is not to like running too there are lots of other great cardio choices out there.

So...What is your workout for today..later that is? :)

Just finished my iTread #24 part A (which was 30min of the total program) SJP abs, planks and stretch.
I will part B tonight.
Have to go to work now. BBL

Hi Gayle,

Finished part A of the #24. First part had steady run. Then a breif hill to stretch out. A few interval sessions and another steady run to the end.

Part B will be done tonight.

Have a Great Day!

:)

Hello fellow BFLers! This is a late check-in for me. Work has been super busy so I wasn’t able to post earlier this morning like I like to do.

Well, my first day went okay in some aspects and not so good in others. The bad part was I ate too much candy. D**n Halloween candy. I made DH take about ¾ of it to work today. I had to keep some of it because my kids get 2 pieces as a treat every night before brushing their teeth and going to bed. This week may not have been the best week to begin BFL because my TOTM started yesterday too. I was doing great until I went back to work following my lunch workout. I was starving, even after I ate my good meal and drank 32 oz of water. That’s when I went to the vending machine for a candy bar. This will be a one day at a time deal with me. On the bright side, I drank all 10 glasses of water and did upper body as described in the book and hit 10s on all of my exercises. I’m experiencing some DOMS today. YEAH!

Anyway, today is going okay. I have cheated once by having a Dr. Pepper. I might have to keep one in my diet for right now until I can phase it out. Dr. Pepper is a big addiction for me. Anyway, tonight I will be doing my HIIT on the treadmill as I am watching Dancing with the Stars. I won’t be taking a normal lunch today. I need to take DD to the ENT dr for a follow-up visit.

Heidi – Your meals look great! Great job on needing new pants!! I normally buy classic clothes because I can’t keep up with the trendy stuff either. Also, I don’t care for a lot of the trendy stuff out right now.

Gayle – Good job on the workouts too! ARX gets me every time. I still can’t make it all the way through it yet, and I’ve tried it numerous times. I normally stick with Cathe for my ab work.

Veronika – The same thing happens to me when I go shopping too. I always wind up buying things for DS, DD, or DH.

Jennifer – Sorry to hear about BF car problems. It really couldn’t have come at a worse time. Keep up the good work eating 100% clean. The results will appear soon.

Hi Colleen! Sorry I have to get back to work. Take care!

Hi to Jennifer and Kristi,

Jennifer: Those abs on SJP after doing my cardio are tough. My hip flexers where pretty tight when trying to do those side ups...not sure on the name just now. They are the ones that you are on your elbow, balancing on your soft hip...;-) and your legs are straight. You have to make a C as you touch your toes etc. Whatever...
Those sports cars are very expensive for even the smallest part. My DH and I used to have a TR7. Cost a fortune to repair so we sold it long ago.
Have a great workout! What about Body Max? Wouldn't it be great to have the next catalog with all the DVD's listed as to whether it was HIIT, Total Body etc.? It would be easier to choose a workout I think.

Kristi: It must be your TTOM thing making you eat all that
candy! ;-) Great job on getting your upper workout in! I hope you have a great cardio session. I think you will be noticing your sore muscles even more tomorrow though...this is what happens to me anyway. Maybe because you use your arms with bent elbows during running and have to hold them up at the same time.

Hi Jill: How was your hike this past weekend? Hope you are doing ok.
How are your studies going? You must be flat out with studying for exams and so forth. DD has two big exams coming on Friday. I hope she can find the time to study!

Oh, DD is going to be a paid intern at the lab she is at in Boston About time! She is very excited about this and looks forward to continuing her research for Progeria. She is still at the Progeria conference and she has one more meeting to attend tomorrow.

Hi Jenn and Kerry (miss you and hope you are doing ok)

I am going to go finish up my cardio for the day part B of iTread #24. I feel like I really need a good run right now. I have a bad headache now and I know this will help me. Yes! TOM started today for me as well...darn. :-(

Hang in there everyone your doing great! :D
