OK, I believe Belinda is on her way to Italy, right? In my mind, I'm going to London today. Where are YOU going? :)

My workout is done! LOVE it! I did a BFL LB workout and I decided to push myself, so I increased my weights again. WOW. WOW. Nothing left to say! lol

Friday....what are your weekend plans? Workouts? Events? Family?

For me, we have nothing tonight. Saturday we have a baseball scrimmage, but the weather is forecated for rain so that will probably be cancelled. Sunday NOTHING, other than Church and Free Day. Workout-wise, I'm not sure in what order, but I"m thinking Saturday is going to be P90X Back & Biceps and a lite jog on the TM. Sunday is my 13 mile long run, which I think is also going to be on the TM. The weather is supposed to be wet all weekend, and I'm a fair-weather runner, so it's the TM for 13! LOL

OK...time to shower. My mom cut my hair yesterday (FINALLY) so it will only take 2 minutes to dry instead of 5! lol

Life has its ups and downs. Right now my kitty is sick. She is turning 16 in a couple of weeks, but up until a short time ago, she acted as if she was 10 years younger. 2 weeks ago I found out she was hyperthyroid. But in the past few days, she’s suddenly become a fragile old cat. I’m waiting to find out if it’s complications from treating her thyroid condition or something else. She’s the last of the pets that we had before kids came along.

On top of that, the personnel issues that I’ve had to address in recent days are leaning towards the bizarre and would make a good chapter in a book. But through it all, I’ve used my new food diary, which is with me at work, and although I haven’t been pristine, it has helped me stay focused. I did have 1 piece of pizza last night with 1 dove chocolate, and if I wasn’t writing it down, I’m sure it would have been more. Since I’m a stress eater, I’m very proud of this accomplishment.

Today should be PUB, but I think it might be put off until tomorrow. My toe bothered me a bit yesterday, but it looks a lot better than a friend’s finger which fractured in bizarre way and another guy’s thumb that bruised during basketball. We laughed about being over 40 and making sure we’re getting enough calcium.

Hey, you could be going to London Ontario this weekend! It's not that far from Niagara.
 
Hang in there Sherry!! Life is about the ups and downs, isn't it? I have found since working out I've been able to handle things a little better - so I really got down when my back was out. So I know it's not helping matters that your toe is bothering you. Hope you have a better day! TGIF!! :)

Hey Gayle -- good workout! Sure wish I was on my way to Italy too! I can't believe you didn't mention Survivor! Oh my gosh, Ami has been driving me crazy with the back stabbing!

Sorry, Sherry! We must have been typing at the same time! I didn't see your post! :) Sorry to hear about your cat. And yes...life is FULL of obstacles, hills, and challenges. It's how you RESPOND to it all that counts! Sounds like you're in control....KEEP IT THAT WAY!

Michelle-ooops! Survivor! Yes...I'm really glad they sided with Erik last night. He's a cutie and really does seem like a genuine good guy. He owes those Favorits a lot now, so we'll see how that plays out at the merge!

I watched Survivor last night, have only watched a few this season. Ami was driving me crazy too!

Weekend plans are getting my taxes done Saturday x( , skit practice with DS at church Saturday evening, church on Sunday, covered dish lunch in the fellowship hall followed up by our skit. I wish my plans were going to New Zealand!
 
Morning!
This morning I did a heavy BFL Lower Body workout + Amy Bento's In the Ring (med ball premix) + Trish Muse Core Attack Express.

What a blast! I changed up my exercises on lower body and again. I also got a couple of new DVDs this week that I was dying to try out. I LOVE medicine ball workouts! I bought Amy's specifically for the med ball sections and I wasn't disappointed. I still can't get the "halo" segment (the punching combo eludes me, lol) and at one point when she has you shuffle and toss your ball...my ball went flying across the room! Luckily it just hit the floor, lol!

New Zealand....that sounds heavenly! When Belinda gets back from Italy, we'll have to tell her where WE all visited! lol

Kathy-I preordered Tracey S's hi/lo med ball workout to try something new. Good workout, my dear! How many miles you have this weekend???

Taxes....I got my rebate check last week, and I don't want to cash it! LOL It's 'only' $900, which is a TON to me right now. I'm afraid, though, that once I deposit it, I will start to get lax on my spending, thinking I have that to fall back on! I've really been trying to reign in where extra money goes....well, there IS NOT EXTRA MONEY, so I've been really focussed on not spending unneccessarily (is that spelled right? LOL)

As for my hair...jsut a trim. My mom has had her license since I was a kid, and she used to have a shop in our house. Slowly, my dad's business starting taking over the shop area and it is now entirely his office! LOL ANYWAY....she cuts my hair, which is awesome because I simply can't afford to pay somebody to cut it!

Sorry to ramble....need to get the kids on the bus!

Good Morning,

Today is 4DS Bootcamp. I always dread this workout for some reason. Maybe because it is hard.

This weekend we are traveling to Naples, Fla not Italy. Although I would love to visit Italy someday.

Gayle - HAve a great time in London;-) We are working on our taxes as well. Hope they are finished before I leave for vacation today I need to sign and I have taking it down to the wire. I think we are getting a good chunk of change back. YAH!!

Sherry - Sorry to hear about your kitty. I almost bought a BFL food diary last night. I've always wondered if that really helps control the eating.

Michelle - I'm not much of a Survivor Fan. I alway seem to miss the first episode and then it's just too hard to keep up with.

Stephanie - Have fun in New Zealand:p

Kathy - I love medicine ball workouts too!. I can't wait for the new STS abs work out using the med ball.

We were rocked by storms here all night. Some nearby areas in Little Rock had some tornadoes.

Gayle, great workout! You rock woman!! Our plans this weekend are to go back “home” to Mississippi and see some friends and I plan to paint a room in our house we are selling there. Sunday I’m excited about going to our church there..I miss everyone so much!

Sherry, sorry to hear about the kitty. You should be proud for doing so well with your eating. One piece of pizza and chocolate won’t kill you. The important thing is that you knew to stop..and you did. Yippee!!!!

Oh, I am down a whole 2 pounds. I was 123.0 this morning. And I did try the chocolate ricotta. I thought it was very very tasty, but it totally gagged my dh.

Today is Upper body with PH,i just love that one. I had some good DOMS off that on on tues.

Gayle-If i could close my eyes and be anywhere, i would be wisked away to icelands Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa i saw once in a magazine. Man it looked relaxing and really nice!

Sherry-I wish your little kitty the best with everything! I know it must be hard to see her this way:-(. And don't feel bad,i had a little cheat last night too that i KNOW i shouldn't have,im a bigtime stress eater too! Hugs,you can get through this;-)your a cathletes:)

Well, I'm bored! LOL 3 days of early dismissal and no work, and now I'm just biding my time till I leave for work today. It is hard to get back in the groove when those 3 half-days fall mid-week! LOL I can't get myself to DO anything around the house, other than put away the laundry and chop up a head of cabbage! LOL

So, I've been surfing! LOL

iTrain....iTread 29 is loaded up, and there better be MORE! I only see 1 right now, set 29 Cycle, Climb then Run, and I can't even see how long it is (time-wise). I hope they're still loading more, because I can't remember the last time they only offered ONE in a month!

Anyway....dryer stopped...time to fold and put away! Only 20 more minutes till I leave for school/work!

Sherry, I’m so sorry about your kitty. I have a dog that’s getting up in age and I’m so sad about it. I can’t imagine life without his quirky little personality every day.

I have a “rest” weekend in my marathon training so my plans for this weekend are to try out the pool at the community center tomorrow and do another dry run of the duathlon on Sunday. I’m going to run a bit further though and if it’s raining….it’ll be inside (run 3.5 miles/bike 1 hour or 15 miles outside/run 3.5 miles).

DH and I will probably also go see the new George Clooney movie about football. It’s only fair because I dragged him to see “Run Fat Boy Run” last weekend about a guy that runs a marathon in an attempt to win back his ex-girlfriend. I enjoyed it a lot, it was really a funny movie with lots of English humor. Hank Azeria (sp?) played a great pompous runner, lol.

Oh, I’m going to cut and paste this great “fried” rice recipe I got off the Yayas website. I used it as a side dish so I omitted the shrimp and added ¾ cup frozen peas. It made 3 side dish servings and was really tasty! I’m having more for lunch.

*******
High Protein "Fried" Rice

2 cups cooked brown rice
6 egg whites
1/4 cup onion (fresh or frozen)
2 garlic cloves (chopped)
2 Tbsp reduced-sodium chicken broth
1 Tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
8 oz cooked shrimp

Cook egg whites in nonstick skillet and set aside. Spray pan with nonstick cooking spray and sauté onion, garlic and a dash of soy until garlic is lightly browned. Add rice and cooked shrimp and cook until warm. Add broth, soy sauce and egg whites and cook until hot. Season to taste with ground pepper.

*note: Would probably be really good with frozen peas & carrots or another type of protein like pork, or chicken. Yummy!
 
Hey ladies:

Stephanie – it is so funny, I didn’t even tell you ladies my workout – I got up and did my cardio on the elliptical and then I’m going to do some weights tonight. I’m trying to switch things up a bit.

I decided not to do a run, and stick with the elliptical in the house – because my ankle was feeling a little funny. Don’t worry, it’s fine. But I made a TOTAL fool out of myself yesterday. Trying to get both the kids to ball practice, still in my high heel boots from work, running out of the garage with their sports drinks and I fell off my heel and boom, all the way to the concrete. My son had his head down, looking at the floorboard when I got in the car. I look at him and said, “Did you laugh at me?” He couldn’t keep a straight face and we both busted out laughing. I am such a klutz!! So, today, I’m wearing flats!!!

Kathy – I LOVE medicine ball workouts! I’m glad you didn’t break anything when it went flying across the room!

Gayle – way to go on the rebate!! Why not try doing something different with it. Put $500 away in savings. And then cash the other $400. Don’t be lax with it, but use the $400 as needed or for special things in the next few months. Then later on, you’ll still have $500 sitting in savings that you haven’t touched.

Susan – Funny, ricotta gags my husband too! Wow, 123 -- you are doing awesome!!

Carolyn – 4DS bootcamp IS hard!! The suicides kill me every time – no pun intended!! har har!

Amelia – I have such a soft spot for Ozzy – don’t know why. It’s strange my husband actually felt bad for Ami – I’m like WHAT? She did cry in the end – but really wasn’t she scamming all along?!

Good morning everyone!

So get this: I woke up at 3:45 this morning thinking about meatloaf muffins!!! I have 1lb of beef defrosted in the fridge and last night it dawned on me that I should cook it before I leave for the weekend or it might go bad. How long will it stay good in the fridge once it's been defrosted? Anyone know???

I'll be back in a few for personals. I have a nice, short day today so I need to get some things done before I leave.

Hey Gayle - yesterday I order Famous Daves tanning -- after your review on the Open thread. I can't wait for it to arrive, however, I've always known Famous Daves as a BBQ restaurant, so it is kind of strange!

Gayle: Great job on your workout this morning! You should be feeling DOMS later this afternoon for sure. Really nice that you have your own personal hair dresser!

Busy morning here…late birds as usual. I had to take MIL to her doc appointment and drop off DS at school. Then I noticed that I was running on empty and filled the tank at $70.00 worth of gas. Ouch!!!! I can’t believe it cost that much!
Anyway, rushed back home to pick up DD to catch the train…she decided not to go in today because there wasn’t much going on in college anyway.
Now back to laundry as usual and trying to get my workout planned for today.

Sherry: So sad to hear about your kitty. I hope things are ok. Sometimes being on new medicines will make them slow down a bit until their bodies get used to it. I hope you get to do your workout later when you are feeling better or maybe tomorrow.

Hi Michelle: So…what are your plans for your workout today? I am going to do CTX upper body, abs and run.

Hello Stephanie: I hope getting your taxes will end up giving you some money back. I think our tax burden is too high for what we get back in return from the government.

Hello Kathy: Ohhh! Way too funny about that medicine ball flying across the room! So glad it didn’t hit someone or break something though. Nice workout for you this morning. I like using the medicine ball for abs as well. It really gets your good for DOMS later! I am feeling my ab workout from the other day. (Bootcamp original DVD a suggestion from Gayle)
