BFL Saturday 11/03

OK...I wanted to get a post started so we didn't have 2 going again. AND I got the day right today, right?

Before I forget, remember to turn the clocks back tonight!

Veronika-I think I'm going to add on some glute and floor work on upper body days. This way, it doesn't fall right before or after a day of heavy lower body work. We'll see.

Jill-my boyfriend (getting used to calling him that, lol) just bought P90X. I'm trying to ignore it right now! LOL I do NOT want to get distracted from the BFL work. BUT....I'm seriously considering doing it come Jan 1st. However, I WILL be adding in the Ab Ripper X and the Core Synergistics very soon. The ab work is great. I actually owned the set about a year ago, but didn't like the heavy weights back then. NOW, however, I see what heavy work can do for my body, so I'm wanting it BACK! lol

As if hiding Cathe's new DVDs wasn't enough pressure, Tracey's new stuff is due to ship this coming week! LOL I'll have to wrap that right up as well and tuck that away. At least my Christmas Day will be PACKED with fitness videos! lol

Check out the link below ladies. It's for Fitness Wholesale and they have some really cool shirts with awesome logos, at a pretty great price, too. I think I'll be buying 2 for myself as Christmas gifts:

Last night, my kids went with my friend and her 2 kids to see the new Bee movie. When I spoke with BF on his way home from work, he suggested I come to his house while the kids were at the movies. We've been trying to find a way to spend some time at HIS house, alone. (he's usually here at night, since my kids sleep in their own bed, lol) He's got a projection screen/DVD combo in his basement and it's AWESOME! So we watched the Transformers movie. My friend dropped the kids off there after their movie and we all watched the end of the movie. It was a great movie, and the COMPANY wasn't that bed, either! LOL

I also have to say that my new collage on the fridge saved me MANY times yesterday alone! In the collage, I have a group pic from this summer's Road Trip, a little funny comic about runners, and my next goal (which is 134# by TDay). I've been fighting some PMS cravings, but everytime I looked at that collage and my goal on it, I just turned away from the junk. Tomorrow is ree Day, so I'll enjoy some of that stuff tomorrow anyway!

I was up early this morning, hitting another Personal Best on the treadmill for HIIT! Today it was 2.53 miles (previous PB was 2.51). My ultimate goal, by the end of this 12 week challenge, is to top out at the 10 MPH button on my TM. I'm not sure what kind of mileage that will give me, but as I slowly increase speed to that 10MPH mark, I'll be able to gauge it better. Right now, I'm topping out at 9.3 MPH. THEN I followed it with Core Max #1 and Stretch Max with the band.

ON WITH THE DAY!!!!!!!!!! Go out and make yourself PROUD!

Gayle

Gayle, I love reading your posts! You motivate me. Were you ever a cheerleader :p ?

Good morning all! Okay, it's Saturday, and I promised myself I'd start with a rejuvenated outlook today. I'm ready! I've gotten bored lately and I need a change up. I was thinking of the Gym Styles, but I may just go back to Slow and Heavy for a month so as not to veer too far away from BFL, because I really do believe in the benefit of heavy weight lifting. The change will come in the form of cardio, and I think I'm going to just extend the length of my cardio session. I'm also going to use some of the many Cathe dvds I have but haven't tried yet, like LIC. I just need something fun.

Gayle, your evening sounds divine. Didn't you love the Transformer movies? I took the kids to see that thinking I'd be bored out of my skull, but I loved it!

Okay, my BF just showed up, so I'll cut it short and check back in with you all in a few. Hope you all have a great day!!

Jen

Hey, Jen! I LOVED the movie last night. I didn't stop smiling the entire time! Something about the combo of comedy, the cute young boy, and all the graphics of those Transformers transforming! lol I LOVED IT! I brought it back with us from BF's house and I'm planning on watching it tomorrow with the kids again!

I LOVE LIC cardio! What fun it is!

And, NO.....no cheerleading for me! It's just that when things are going well, I like to really let EVERYBODY know it and feel it! LOL

Good Afternoon?!

I can't believe the morning is gone already! I have been busy preparing for the high winds from the approaching storm I guess the word is that we are going to get pretty hard.

Veronika: To answer your question from last night...Gloucester is on the NE coastline. As far North as you can go on 128.

I mix it up too using GS,SH & PLB for lower leg work. I think I am going to add in B&G as well too! }(

Jill: Glad to hear Hero was feeling is oats last night. Even if it turned out to be messy. ;-)

How did you sleep last night?

Gayle: I like your speed! I am hoping with these motivating iTread programs I will be able to keep my speed up there longer too. So far I have done only the Intervals #21 but loved every sweaty minute of it!}( Music is great and has the perfect beat for the speeds.

I too am trying to keep my new 4-Day Split in its package for after Christmas. The temptation is really getting to me. Only a month and half to go right?

Hi Jen! How did your workout go this morning?
I agree with that movie...my kids loved it too.

Hi to Colleen too!

Kerry and Jennifer I am thinking of you too and hope to see you back here soon. :)

BBL, have to get lunch for the gang. Oh, I made the Apple Pumpkin Muffins/Bread...(couldn't find my muffin pan so ended up making bread instead) Everyone loved it and it has no sugar.:9

Good morning all! Last night I finally broke down and took a Lunesta to help me sleep. I slept well and woke up at about 6am (when I normally wake up) but I was SO groggy and DH had started to snore so I came downstairs and laid on the futon for about 3 1/2 to 4 hours before I could actually get up and get going. I've just had breakfast, I'm working on my cup of tea, and then I'll shower and start my day.

Hi Heidi!

How hard are we supposed to get hit with this storm? I haven't been watching the news. Of course, the coast always gets it worse...I'll be wishing the best for you and your family. I'm in the central part of the state, so hopefully it doesn't amount to much. At least nothing a nice fire in the fireplace and plenty of hot chocolate can't combat. It's starting to rain now, and it's making me want to curl up under a blanket with a good book.

Haven't done my workout just yet. The kids are still here from last night, so it'll be easier to get it done after they leave. Can you believe they didn't go to sleep until after one o'clock last night, and then were up at 5:50 this morning? They are going to be sooooo tired tonight. I've got to get the workout in before I need a nap.

Gayle, your treadmill performance is just NUTS!! And I mean that in a good way ;-) .

BBL ~

Jen

Hi Jill!

Glad to hear you got some sleep finally. Take it easy today and let your body get some much needed rest.

Jen

Hi Jen!

Nice to hear from someone else in the area of MA.:)

Along the coast winds are between 50-70mph according to NBC. Also, the rain started early for me...around 8:30-9am. Rain totals around 3-5in.

Inland where you are should be just a good rain shower with winds around 25-40mph and rain totals 2-4in. Of course depending on how close this storm moves inland this could all be higher.

Whenever my kids have friends over...it is the same. Up late then up early. Don't worry as soon as the company heads home your kids are going to crash big time! Hopefully this doesn't mean you too!;-)

As parents even though we go to bed before the kids we still have an ear open to anything going on. So you end up feeling spaced out and tired as well unfortunately.

Good luck with getting in that workout. I too have to do mine. I have been pretty busy so far and haven't reached that escape point yet.

My 18yr old and 21yr old is still sleeping! Both were out late last night with their friends. My DS was here in Gloucester while my DD stayed in Boston and met up with some friends coming in from her previous college in Western MA.
These two made it home between 1 and 3am!

Speaking of climbing back into bed...my DH has disappeared! I guess my 12yr.old and I are on our own to keep an eye on the storm.

I'll be back later...hopefully to tell you that I did my workout I had planned. This would have been GS tri&bi, abs from BM2 and itread cardio #23.

Hi Jill: I know how you must feel after taking a sleep aid. Whenever I take one or cold medicine it knocks me out for the next day too. Hate that feeling!
I hope you feel better later on. :)

How are you holding up out there in Gloucester, Heidi? Still have power, I hope? The weather hasn't gotten bad at all here. As you said, just some good rain showers and mild winds so far.

LIC is done. What a great workout, and fun to boot! :) Just what I was looking for.

Hope everyone else is enjoying their Saturday ~

Jen

Wow, again, you guys are very motivating. Late check in for me today. We had a fun match (practice dog show) with our Dobe puppy and then I had to get some laundry done. I did manage to do 30 minutes of Step Blast. WHat a fun tape!

Gayle: CLOCKS! Ack, would have forgotten thank!!! Congrats on your personal best.

Heidi: Ok what is the Apple Pumpkin Muffins/Bread? It sounds delicious.

The rest of the housework awaits....

Colleen

Hi Jenn,

I really like LIC too! Good job for both of us for getting in our workouts today!}(

I just finished GS chest&Tri,Abs from BM2 and iTread #23 40min
run. Wow, now that was a complete workout.

I put my husband on the treadmill for the iTread #1 20min run and he pooped out after 11min! I guess he wasn't ready for the challenge or too tired today. He said he is going to try it again in a couple days.

We still have power here in Gloucester. There must have been some large tress down up the road because the FD went by with at least 3 trucks and then a Arbor truck. Will have to check out what happened tomorrow.

Well it is getting late. Checking in with you all Sunday.
Have a great night.:)

Hi Colleen,

Great fun that Step Blast is!

The recipe is from Tosca Reno's cookbook. "The Eat-Clean Diet Cookbook page 25. The whole family liked this and couldn't believe I made it without any sugar.

Hope you have a good night!
:)

Hey everyone,
It is 8;00pm and DH and children have arrived from the mountains.
I did do BM2 and abs.I was wiped out and still am.I can't wait to get to bed.
I hope you are doing well in Gloucester,Heidi.I looked up your place on the map.It is by Salem. We were there last summer on our school's American History trip.
Jen, I have yet to do LIC. I might do that next week.
Gayle, I'll do the same on Upper Body days.About how long does it take you when you do this? I have to schedule appropriately.By the way, that was a very good cardio today. Keep it up.
Jill, I don't need a sleeping pill today because of the cardio today. But I do know that no one better wake me up tomorrow morning.
