BFL Hump Day Wednesday

Good morning, I have to go back and check out the rest of yesterday's posts.

My keyboard isn't working on my PC upstairs, and I can't figure it out. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Will have to get to that later.

Right now, I'm focussing on being able to walk without stumbling! LOL I did PLB this morning, pretty heavy, and I mixed up the exercises. I started with the Leg Presses, then instead of the static lunges, I did the one-legged lunges/squats with the back leg up on the risers, then continued with the squats and deadlifts...then added on a pyramid set of leg extensions on my weight bench (while re-playing the deadlift section again for the pace and count). Then I did the glute and outer thigh ball work. My legs are wobbly and shaky now. WOW! Just making a few simple changes makes a big difference.

OK...today is our busy day. So it's off to clean, then school/work, then the kids' Religion Classes after homework. The evening should be quiet, so maybe I'll get my mom to cut my hair. We'll see.

Good morning Gayle! Great job on the PUB!

Heidi - Congrats to DD on her paid internship! I hope they are able to make good progress in their research into Progeria.

Last night I ran 5 miles on the treadmill with HIIT for 3 miles. It was a tough workout. The first and last miles were the warm up and cool down. My intervals were speeds of 5.5, 6.0, 6.5, 7.0, & 7.5. The 7.5 was my 10! I hope by Christmas I will be able to make 8.0 my 10! I guess time will tell. Today will be PUB on my own during my normal lunch hour.

My snacking wasn't so good yesterday, but I'm still trying to stay on track as much as I can. Once TOTM is over then my candy/soft drink binging should be over, hopefully. Today is another day and I hope to make it a good one. For me the first 2 weeks is always the hardest. Not because of the planning but the adjustment period for my body.

Gayle~ Sounds like you had a great workout! Enjoy those DOMS. My legs are tight today, I guess my body hasn't caught up to all the working out again.
I had the same problems with my daughter keyboard on her computer. The majority of the times I could just unplug it/plug back in and reboot.. This past time, her space bar stopped working, I said the heck with it and bought her a new one.
Enjoy your day! I forgot Wednesday are busy ones for you!

Kristi~ Wow, what a workout, great job! Don't worry about your snacking yesterday, just forget about it and move on! TTOM gets me everytime also! :)

Can you give me a little advice. This is what my workouts have been looking like this week.
Sunday-Power Yoga
Monday-W1 of C25k / GS Legs
Tuesday- Imax 3
Weds-C25K, D2 - Tonight is UBWO ( deciding on Pyramid UB or BBC Arms/Abs - I love this DVD...Barry works you good.

Is this too much? Because, my legs are sure feeling it good. -- Should I start adding my C25k training on my HIIT days?

It is GSLegs for me this morning and a lot of stretching.I am so excited about today's workout I could hardly get to sleep.
I have no idea what I am eating this morning but it will be healthy and clean.Ok,I'have to get the kiddos up.

Hey guys! I have to make this another quick post.

Jennifer-maybe you should move your C25K workouts to your HIIT days until your legs are used to the intense workouts. Also, you can MAKE your C25K workouts HIIT, right? There's no 'rule' in that program that says your mileage for that day HAS to be steady-state, right? Plus, the HIIT helps increase your overall steady-state running pace anyway.

I peeked at the scale again today. (I use my friend's when I clean her house for a few reasons...first because I don't own a scale, second because it's a fancy schmancy digital one, and third, because Wed's fall mid-week and just a few days after free day and I like to peek to make sure that I didn't blow it due to free day). lol ANYWAY...it shows me down a little bit....I'm zeroing in on the 130s and LOVING IT! I haven't been in the 130s in a while (I'll have to look back at my weigh-in logs to see exactly how long it's been, lol). SO....by Friday's OFFICIAL weigh-in, I should be down a bit more (even though TOM was due 2-3 days ago, lol).

That is a good idea, Gayle. I think I will start doing that a least 2-times a week, I like to get a Cathe Interval in at least 1 time.

Last time I walked @ 4.2 mph, and steady @ 5.0 mph for my 1 minute. I guess increase this for my HIIT and follow the program week by week?

I peeked in yesterday but didn't get a chance to post. Work is so hectic right now, this check-in is really saving me, even when I don't get to post. The exercising is helping give me not just a physicial workout, but a mental break from the stress too. Hoping things get organized her soon!!! I'll be doing HIIT tonight. Had to come in early and leave early to take one of the dogs to the weekly oncologist visit. I'm NOT a morning person so getting up at 4 am to workout was not gonna happen.

I got out the tape measure over the wekeend. I'm so impatient. I've only had 1 full week of BFL and 1 week of "working out" and getting on track. But I lost a little over 1/2" in my hips, abs and belly, so that's a good start. I don't own a scale but am thinking it might be time to get one again.

Ok...back to work I go. Oh, my neck is feeling a bit better. Last night was the first night I fell asleep without sleeping on a bag of frozen peas!


Gayle: That is exactly why I am afraid to jump into PLB right now. After about a year off, I’m afraid…very afraid!!!!

Kristi: Ah…soft drinks. I am a certified Diet Coke addict. It’s the one thing I haven’t given up on the BFL plan.

Jenn: Ohh haven’t had protein pancakes in a long time. Sounds like a good idea for next week!

Hello and Good Morning to you all,

I have been up since 5am. Didn't sleep all that well last night. That headache wouldn't ease up. I woke around 3am scared because I hadn't heard from my DD. She usually calls my cell for a ride from the train station. I guess this time she called the house phone which last night I didn't bring into my room. I called her in a panic asking her to please call me. I thought maybe she stayed over in Boston with one of partners from the lab.
My DS (2nd) was up and laughing at me for my state of confusion. He told me he went out and picked her up at around 10:30. Phew! Scared me to death. I can't help it....You know how mothers are...right?

DD is off to another conference today and again won't be back until late. I have been busy this morning making the Country Style Beef Soup from Tosca Reno's cookbook. Boy does it smell great! I love using bay leaves when cooking any kind of beef. :9 I decided that I would make a few things ahead and freeze them for quick dinners or lunches. My husband is going to fry some haddock for dinner tonight and I don't do well with fry foods. So this is my dinner for tonight and later on in the week a lunch meal.

Today is lower body workout:
PLB for me too Gayle! You see what I mean about switching up your workouts. Ohhhh hurts so good! :) Cool bath for you tonight!

Colleen: Glad to hear that your neck is feeling better today. My headache is finally eased...of course it has taken quite a few doses of Advil about 2 hours apart to get to this point.
Yeah! for loosing a 1/2"! Your doing great...keep up the good work.

Jennifer: I agree with Gayle on switching your days for your cardio. This will give your legs some time to recover.

Kristi: You can kick the habit one soda at a time.

Veronika: Is this your first time doing the GS series? It is going to get you good if you haven't. :)

Heidi - I would be very scared if I were in the same situation and DD had not called.

I finished PLB per BFL specifications. However, I didn't reach 10's, only 9's. I'm having a hard time reaching it with the weights I have. The highest poundage I used was 22.5 lb dumbbells so the next time I will use 25 pounders instead. I don't want to graduate to 30 pounders because I don't know if I can handle them safely. What do you all do? Should I look into a weighted vest or should I try to do it with Cathe since she pre-exhausts the legs. The only thing with working with Cathe, I would have to find a premix to fit my short workout time. I only have 30-40 minutes to workout during weight days that is why I liked doing them on my own. Thanks!
 
Hey everyone,
I did tge GSlegs!!!!OH MY GOODNESS!!!What a feeling.I am so glad I did B&G Butt on Monday so that I wouldn't be so sore with this workout.But I think I am going to be feeling this until Saturday. I loved it.Got in stretching too.It was very good.OK,I couldn't help myself either today.I had to do it because my panties fell off my hips yesterday and I thought something was wrong with the elastic.I threw them away.I got another pair,same style, and the same thing happened.So I got on the scale today and I am have lost some weight.I am now in the 120's girls.I haven't been here in at least 4 years. I am so excited.
I'll have to come back later.I need to go get the children from school.

Veronika~ That is awesome news! Great work! :) I did GS Legs on Tuesday, I am still feeling slight DOMS :) I don't have B&G, how does this compare to GS Legs?

Tonight was UBWO for me. I decided to do Pyramid UB. My arms are still shaky, so I'm sure I am going to have some good DOMS tomorrow.
Tomorrow is HIIT in the afternoon, and then I am going to Yoga class right after work! :)

Off to relax, I have been running all afternoon! How come the kids and hubby can't do anything? I am always running around like a mad women and there they sit! x(
