Good morning Belinda! Are you going clothes shopping?! Great job on your ab workout! I never did mine yesterday x( I'll do 4DS HIS and LIS abs too, THIS MORNING! No excuses!

I have a mixed emotion day today. My ds turns 16 today and I will be taking him to get his driver's license this morning at 9am. When we are finished, he will drop me off at the house then I will watch him leave, on his own ;( , for school. Here in NC you get your learner's permit at 15 and drive with a parent for 1 year, then you can get your license. The only restrictions are he can't drive before 5am or after 9pm and can only have one other non-relative person in the car at any time. It's just hard knowing my baby is growing up! He tells me, "Mom, I'll be home at 4pm!" It's exciting and saddening. I'm sorry to ramble.

I got my treadmill yesterday. Went to Play It Again Sports and the cheapest thing they had was $1,100.00! I went to Sears and purchased a ProForm Weight Loss 620 Treadmill. I love it! I will be doing an iTrain and will not have to run in place!!! :7 My DOMS from yesterday's GS Legs aren't that bad and I even went up in weights! It feels good to get stronger.

Thanks all for listening and being there for me!

Oh, Sherry and Heidi, I too was wondering where you had been! Glad you're okay!

Have a great day! :+

Morning,

Today is 4DS shoulders and I may all S/H shoulders to it as well.

I am very excited about the High Step. I just ordered the step with an extra riser.I didn't need a beginner step w/o and I have HSTA. I will be able to use it for so many different workouts. Right now I am lugging around my long step and it will be much easier with the HS topper. Plus the extra risers will make my long step higher for when I need to use it as a bench.

Belinda - Have fun shopping. I did that Monday with DD.

Stephanie - My son will be 16 in May and is making me crazy with the driving thing. We actually took away his driving privileges a few months back b/c of his attitude. He is due to take drivers ed in April so hopefully that will help. My older DD has been driving for 2 years and we still make him call everytime he gets to his destination.

BBl,

Carolyn

Brrr! It’s cold out there this morning! Can I move down south with one of you?

After several days of “heavy lifting” with shovels and picks, the body needed to move. The cardio du jour appears to be High Intensity Step and I joined in without even knowing. Haven’t done it lately and felt a bit left-footed, but a good sweat nonetheless.

Belinda – Great job on your workout! Have fun shopping. I know you walk your dogs every day. We finally got a permit to the dog park near us, and it sure wore out the pup the other day! She was zonked out for the whole afternoon. I can’t wait until she’s older. I need a running buddy!

Stephanie – Glad you aren’t walking too much like a duck today! I’ll do my abs later today if you do yours! I’m not ready for my kids to drive yet, but with DS at 11 I know it will feel like it’s around the corner.

Carolyn –Congrats on the high step! Be careful, this group is very enabling when it comes to buying more exercise goodies. And the cookies are for the troop’s booth – I so need them out of the house! 2 more weeks left and then they’ll be gone!

Christina – 4DS legs is a nice change from GS’s and PLB. How are your DOMS?

Melissa – Been there for the clothing meltdowns. I now need to take her shopping with me, because when I buy on my own, it’s always “no way”, yet my mom can get her just about anything and it’s “so cute!”

Rhonda – Shush! Don’t tell the others, but I often only do the standing portion of PLB. I use the excuse of time, but really it just challenges me more than I have the desire for in the early a.m. Try the waffles with fresh fruit – bananas or berries work well to help give them some moisture.

Kathy – You aren’t the only one running out the door in the am. At least the work out is done and out of the way for the day! And get bike shorts, woman! How can you cycle so much and not have them?

Heidi –Yes, I’m ready for warm weather, too. W inter could be over now. When do you think that 3rd floor will be finished? Isn’t it funny how addicted the body comes to exercise? While my upper body has been overworked lately, my legs were aching for some weights – probably tomorrow.

Michelle – You even did the floor work for PLB? You one upped me! And thanks for thinking of me! I missed all of you, too. It was just too hectic with the extra work of trying to get out in the morning – getting the kids off somewhere else and taking care of the driveway. I’m waiting for it all to melt! At least there are mostly strips down to concrete for the tires.

Gayle – As for rekindling the fire, I’m right there with you. This is week 12 for me, and I’m not where I had hoped to be, but I am better than where I was. I’ve been debating about taking a week off or just going straight into another 12 weeks. I feel like it took me this long just to get it down. I’ve needed to change cooking habits, and grocery shopping along with it. Plus, I’ve never exercised this regularly for so long. You’re inspiring me to keep going!

Now off to face yet another exciting day at work, followed in the evening, by running the kids to catechism and a chance to get more cookies out of the house. Have a great workout and a fun filled day!

Good morning ladies -

Well I see you all had a 4DS party this morning!

Bad news, I woke up sick. Yes, sick. I actually WANTED to do abs! har har. I did the elliptical AND an ab workout -- yeah!!! :)

Belinda - Have fun shopping!! Any new jeans on tap for today. he he!

Stephanie - Hang in there! I can just imagine how hard that is. My son is only 10 and I'm already thinking about the day he drives off by himself. Seems like yesterday he was in his little car seat. sniff sniff

Carolyn - At least now we all know who to go to for advice about our boys. Has your starting dating yet? Now, that will be a strange one for me!!

Sherry - Of course we missed you!! I'm sending warm weather thoughts your way -- to get you out of that driveway and back to our workout room!! :)

Michelle

Good morning! So who has DOMS today???? I DO I DO I DO! LOL

I’m done with my workout…iTread set 1 (logged over 6 miles) and Core Max on the stability ball. Tonight during Survivor, I’m going to add in a nice stretch!

To continue the Biggest Loser discussion. I liked the part where the one blue team member (can’t remember his name) was out at the restaurant with his family and he and his wife ordered healthy meals, yet their kids still got the big portions of fried fish n chips. And he realized that he now needs to start helping his kids eat well also! And yes….that Blue Team ROCKED it while at home!

Belinda-I hope you didn’t spend too much money….but did you get anything good?

Stephanie-happy birthday to your not-so-little boy! Sad, happy, PROUD tears, hugh? CONGRATS on the new TM…I’ve got a ProForm also and LOVE it! ENJOY!

Sherry-CONGRATS on getting to week 12! And you’re right, at the end of my first challenge, I also felt like I was just getting the hang of it all! I feel much more confident this time around, now…I know where the pitfalls are, I know what works and what doesn’t…and what I need to switch around! Great job!

Heidi-ready to rock this??? Do you really plan out your meal plan and your workouts for a full month? Now THAT’s dedication! Great job!

Michelle-First of all…..I was over at the BFL tracker site and just learned that Ami on Survivor is Bill Phillips’ ex-fiance! GO FIGURE! I thought you’d like to know that! About the 2nd challenge being harder. I have been comparing it to the “let down” after the Disney Marathon. Once I completed that marathon, it was like, “OK, what now?” You work so hard on a specific goal, then you REACH that goal, and then it’s almost like you’re lost without that striving…that drive. It just goes to show that we need to continue setting new and harder goals as we get closer to our current goals!

Kathy-I will have to check out the NJ Marathon and see if I can swing thru to support you!

Carolyn-CONGRATS on buying yourself that high step! You’ll love it! Now, what NEW workout do we need to buy to go WITH that high step? LOL

Yesterday’s meals were:
M1: Scrambled egg wrap
M2: Chicken Salsa wrap, broccoli
M3: bar, 1 string cheese
M4: Stuffed green pepper
M5: apple, 2 string cheese
M6: White Bean Soup

Time to shower. We've got School Store this morning, so I'll be back to chat after that!

Gayle

Morning!
Belinda – Have fun shopping!

Steph – Awww, it is bittersweet. You want them to grow up but when they do it’s so hard! Good luck to your son on his drivers test today. Wow, that’s so great you got a treadmill! I bought a NordicTrack 2200 from Sears about a year and a half ago and LOVE it! Enjoy!

Carolyn – You’ll love the high step! I use it for seated weight work, lunges, doing calves….you name it, lol. Ugh, in NJ kids have to be 17 for a drivers license. My youngest turns 17 in 2 weeks but we’ve decided to put off getting his…he’s still quite immature.

Sherry – LOL, yep….bike shorts…got it! ;) Enjoy HIS!

Michelle – I hope you feel better! Kudos to you for working out…and getting in abs too!

Gayle – Great workout! I’ll have to listen to iTread #1 today. I really couldn’t ask you to do that! The marathon is in Long Branch which is an hour and half away from me! Thanks so much for even thinking of offering though! :)

Heidi – Runnervals are DVDs that are made by Coach Troy who does Spinervals. The music sucks but the workouts are good, lol. I only have the first one (Easy Intervals) but have had the Hill Climber and 10k one (but sold them). I bought them when I was still recovering from knee surgery and it kind of depressed me not to be able to do them! (lol!) Anyway, here’s the link: http://www.spinervals.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=53_56

I got up and ran 6 miles using iTread 24 Intervals. It was supposed to be a “speed” workout and with 5 sprints, this one fit the bill. 

Hi to everyone that follows!

Kathy

P.S. I say good riddance to Paul on Biggest Loser! I hope Amy is next…she’s such a cry baby! Ooops, that was mean. }( :7

Hello to everyone!

Is it morning yet? Ohh....can't find the coffee to wake up.

Gayle: I do I do! I feel like I have been runover by a truck. Stupid headache..AGAIN! Awesome job on your planned meals. I try to plan mine out and have foods made ahead of time like you for the week. No excuses! Great job on the itread and core work.

Kathy: Gotta love that iT#24! I did half of that yesterday and should probably do the rest today to get rid of this headache.
Thank you for the info. on the runnervals. Going to check this out later after my run and upper body workout.

Belinda: Did you say shopping? Have fun! I hope you get something special for rewarding yourself for all the great work you have done thus far.

Stephanie: Ya! A treadmill and new workouts. Have fun mixing up your cardio days.
16! Driving! Agh. I hope in the last year he has practiced a lot. Some kids just shouldn't drive until they are out of the teenage years. I wish you luck on keeping your sanity. I get all nervous even now with my kids that have been driving since they were 17. They still call me when they reach their destination like Carolyn's kids.

Carolyn: Have a great workout with 4DS shoulders & SH shoulders. You really should have DOMS tomorrow with this schedule!

Sherry: Isn't it funny how we put a DVD on and before you know it your done with a workout.:) Just getting started is the hard part.
As for the 3rd floor...I have a huge mess to clean up! It's going to be awhile. Started cleaning up the staircase to the second floor and hallways last night. Just so much dust from the sanding. My DS (12) tried to sweep up on the 3rd floor. He then tried to use the shop vacuum to suck all that up. The filter clogged right away...so he stopped for now. He is really very helpful.

Michelle: Good girl...you got in your ab workout even though you were sick...hehe ;-)

Hello to anyone that has just checked in while I was typing. Have a great workout!

Ok...hitting the basement for my workout. BBL Heidi

Michelle -

My younger DS, 15, has been dating the same girl for almost a year.
At first it would be a group of them going to a movie or bowling. All that was fine and cute. It seemed once school started last fall it was more just the 2 of them hanging out and stuff. She is really sweet and cute. I don't have a problem with her at all, BUT I feel my son is way too wrapped up in the dating thing. He has always be in gifted/AP classes and made A's and B's with little or no effort. Lately his grades have been suffering, currently he is failing 2 classes. We have removed text messaging from his cell phone, prohibited him from talking to her from his cell except for weekends. She is on a different plan and he has used all of our rollover minutes. We allow him to talk to her from the home phone. That is about to end tomorrow when we get his grade report. (He doesn;t know that yet!) He doesn't do his homeowork, blah, blah, blah.

My DH and I feel that at 15/16 kids, especially boys, are not emotionally mature enough to handle this kind of serious dating. Before this gf, he went out with many different girls, (they way I think young kids should do). Everything revolves around her and we feel he is pushing his family away. Next step will be prohibiting him from seeing her at all until the grades improve.

He says we are being unreasonable. That we expect too much out of him. WTH!!!! We expect what we always have out of him and he doesn't want to push himself.
This week his school is registering for next years classes and he wants to drop all the gifted/AP and take just college prep courses. Another battle ground.

Anyway, my advise for anyone with teenage boys, DON"T LET THEM DATE AND GET TOO SERIOUS!!

Carolyn

Stephanie - What a handsome son you have!! What, no "Little Red Corvette"??? har har!!

Carolyn - Wow, that's some drama. I had a girl calling my son - once called three times in one evening and kept leaving messages, my gosh, we weren't home! I wish I had some advice for YOU. However, I will say... back when I was 15 my parents forbid me to see a certain boy --- I spent the next few months sneaking out my window at night. Eeek, can't believe I admitted that! Now, I realize he was wrong for me and yes my parents were right -- but for some reason I just HAD to figure it out on my own -- and them forbidding me made me want to see him more. (Just something to think about.)

Okay Kathy, I'm not REALLY sick -- only sick because I WANTED to do abs -- Heidi got the joke!!

Michelle

Sherry - How old is your daughter? She is such a cutie! Congrats on making it to week 12!! I wish you were more EXCITED about it. I know I need to stop focusing only on the outside (or should I say it, the scale) - because I can keep up with Cathe on certain videos and I am actually doing my cardio - those are the things to celebrate!! Here's another positive for you -- since you are going to continue you'll still be posting with us next week!! har har!! :)

The "12 week" thing really is hard to wrap our heads around. To be honest -- I needed it because having in my head that I was only going to do this for 12 weeks got me motivated to get up every morning and attempt to get in every workout in. It seemed so "doable" -- well now, it is a habit and I'm just going to keep on doing it. I will be celebrating after the 12 weeks though - hey I need a week to eat cake! Har har!

Michelle

Heidi – Ugh, I hate the clean up! I think the actual work is easier! Oh, I forgot to add that I got the Runnervals 6.0 off the swaps and hopefully it’s on it’s way soon. I’ll let you know what I think.

Sherry – I agree, you should be celebrating this 12 weeks! You’ve done an awesome job and met most of your goals!

Carolyn – I totally understand what you’re saying. My two sons are not in relationships (yet!) but my daughter was in one from the age of 16-21. He was a friend of my son’s so I knew him since he was a very young boy. I thought it was way too intense for that age but she felt differently. Fast forward 4 years later and she broke up with him and started dating someone she met in college. They lived together for a couple of years and have been married for one year. It’s hard to tell what’s going to happen, I thought for sure the first relationship was “it” for her. You just never know what’s going to happen! I feel for you on the gifted/AP dilemma, I had that with my second son but made him continue on….it’s just such a waste of intellect if they don’t challenge themselves!

Steph – What a happy, handsome boy!!! Congratulations to him!

Michelle – LOL! Ooops, I guess I’m clueless sometimes (ha,ha!) I did some things when I was younger that would “curl” my kids hair if they ever found out! Shhhhh…..I’ll never tell, lol! I agree, this is not a 12 week thing, it’s the rest of our lives.

Kathy

P.S. Can you tell I'm back at my desk? :7

Hi everyone!

Belinda - I hope you are having fun shopping!

Stephanie - YAY on the TM and on DS getting his license. What a handsome fella!!

Carolyn - I love HSTA. I do the cardio premix alot for my HIIT. It's so much fun.

Sherry - Congrats on getting through 12 weeks. I have already been thinking about what I'm going to do, too. I'm only on week 8, but I know that the next 4 are going to fly by. I'm almost afraid to take a week off so I think I'll just keep on going. OH, and you are just getting rid of your cookies while I'm just getting ready for the cookies. Ours come in next week and I'm on my own for the pick-up...x( . Ugh!

Michelle - I really thought you were sick too until I read your other post.

Gayle - I think I'm the only one with no DOMS! I did LB on Tuesday and I squatted my heaviest ever...103 lbs...and NOTHING!!! I think it's time to change up my routine a little!

HI Kathy and Heidi!!

Meals for today:

M#1: protein shake
M#2: 2 banana/oatmeal protein muffins
M#3: turkey black bean chili
M#4: egg white quiche & sweet potato
M#5: 1/2 c pasta w/sauted veggies
M#6: 2 pieces w/w bread & 1T pb

BBL!

Hello,

Back again with my workout finished. YES!!!!! Gayle...I did it.

GS Back,shoulders and bi's

coremax 2 Awesome! I did all pikes on the ball. My balance must be getting better...that and my wrist.

Finished with iTread 24 part B/ walked 4.2 on hills to warmup to sprints at 7.0. Wow feeling great now. Head is clearer.

Stephanie: Congratulations to your son! He is adorable and looks so proud. :) This is a big step into the adult world for a young man.

Hi Melissa: What's your plan for today?

Carolyn: I am sooo glad that my boys (two oldest) kept things in perspective when it came to the girls. My 18yr old has a girl that keeps calling him and emailing him....he is not interested in someone that is so determined. YUCK! Is what he says. My DD didn't date until she went to college. She had lots of friends in school but didn't care for the immature boys. She too was an all A student with AP courses. She took this very serious and spent outside school time on the track/cross country team. She also volunteered at the nursing home. Many boys asked her out but she just told them she was just too darn busy for that. It was very true! I have one more boy...the 12 year old. I'll see how this goes.....hopefully the same as the others. :)

Kathy: On to the piles I go..... Have a great day everyone! BBL Heidi

Hi girls,

Stephanie** Happy Birthday to your son! I remember the first time my son or daughter drove off all alone! They grow up so fast! They have to spread their wings! Did you get your abs in? Congrats on your new TM! What a handsome son you have!

Carolyn** nice shoulder workout today! I went through similar trouble with my son! If you forbid him to see her, he is going to do the opposite! Talk to him! It is really hard been a parent!

Sherry** after I worked out I took my dogs for an hour walk! You need a permit to walk your dogs? WOW! My DH runs with the dogs and takes them for a long walk every day! Have fun with your cardio! Have a fun filled day!

Michelle** you had me going for a minute, I am glad I read your other post! I went shopping to a health food store today and we ate Indian food! I really liked it! No new jeans! I will wait until I get back to the states in April!

Gayle** fantastic job on your 6 mil run this morning! I do need to do Core Max tomorrow!

Kathy** great job on your 6 mil run this morning! WOW! I am a wimp!

Heidi** you did an awesome workout! WOW!

Melissa** WOW on squatting 103 pounds! Your meals look really good!

I will be back later!
Belinda

Oh my gosh -- I logged off for an hour or so to actually get to this work on my desk... I log back on AND

There's Belinda and Melissa chatting it up with CATHE!!!! Wow!!!

Man, I can't believe I missed it!!!

Michelle

Carolyn, congratulations on ordering your high step! I just received mine several weeks ago and I love it! Good for you on putting your foot down with your son. So many parents just let their kids do whatever, whenever. Good luck with class sign-ups! It never ends, does it!

Sherry, I'm getting ready to do abs...did you do yours? You can come stay with us, but we are supposed to get freezing rain tonight...you may want to stay put! Congratulations on making it to week 12! WHOHOO!!!

Michelle, great job on the "wanting" to do abs. Goodness, you must have a high fever! ;) And no to the "Little Red Corvette"! It's a 1998 Toyota Corolla with 115,000 miles on it. It is mine and we are letting him use it until he's 18. He has been saving for a car since he was 12 and has over $5,000.00 in the bank, so when he's 18, he should have enough to purchase his own vehicle. I'm the one that got the "hotrod", I drive a Firebird with "T" tops!

Gayle, Great workout today, wow, 6 miles! I just finished itrain 6, 20 minutes. It's much easier running in place! ;) I feel great though! Can't wait till my next cardio day!

Kathy, 6 miles too! Wait up! I did 2! Have a great day!

Heidi, I'm sorry to hear about your headache. :( Do you think it's from the dust? Good for you on the meal planning! I need your dedication! I am making double recipes of Italian Dinner Soup and Turkey Chili today, which should last 2 weeks. How many different meals do you prepare for the month? Neil (DS) is very mature. Most of the time he would rather hang out with adults than kids his own age. And thanks for wishing me luck with keeping my sanity!

Melissa, great work on the weight increase! It feels so good to go heavier, and no DOMS!!! I would be in a wheelchair! Can I have a copy of your turkey black bean chili? Sounds yummy! I hope you have a great day!

Belinda, I am going to do my abs as soon as I hit "Post Message", promise!
