BFL for Sun Feb-03-08

Hi, Heidi, and thank you! I have credits at iTrain as well. I'm waiting to see what they have for February (or did they upload them on their site already?)!

OK, quick race report. Weather was gorgeous. Cold, but sunny the whole way! And HILLS HILLS HILLS! Which, I love, so I knew I'd be able to pass a bunch of people there, and I did! Mile 1, watch showed 8:00. Mile 2, watch showed 16:10. Mile 3, I decided to stop checking the watch and just enjoy the run. Mile 4...2 older gentlemen (in my opinion, 55-65 years olds) who I started the race next to. I passed them like 4 times. I caught up with them at mile 4 and told the one guy this was lilke the FOURTH time I'm passing them, would they just STAY BEHIND ME! LOL He said if I didn't pick up the pace, HE WOULD! So I did. But then he passed me at mile 5 (which was downhill, go figure). His partner was right on my heels. Kept the last 1.2 miles steady, with the one guy in my sights. The partner kept getting on my back, I kept picking up speed. I tried to catch the first guy. Last 1/2 mile, I picked it up, passed 2 more people in the last few yards, but just could not catch the first older guy! LOL He finished about 15 seconds ahead of me, he turned around after they pulled his tag and I pointed to him and said, "YOU!!! It's ALL YOUR FAULT!" LOL He gave me a great big hug! cute guy...he's 59. But there was also a 69 year old man 45 seconds ahead of me! Imagine that! LOL

GREAT RACE! I felt great the entire way. No aches, no pains. Just pleasurable FAST (for me) running for 6.2 miles! Heaven!

Time to dry my hair, make my lasagna, and get to BF's house for the rest of the day!

I'll see you all tomorrow, ok? I've got Upper Body on tap tomorrow. I'll start with the p/u from GS!

Plans for the day changed. DD got sick, so no skating and no b-day party. Instead, staying home and disinfecting the house.

Jennifer - So glad that things are coming together for you. I'm sure your stress level is down.

Heidi - DH does that to me sometimes, too. Very irritating. Hope your kitty comes home soon.

Melissa - You are making so much progress already, and just halfway through. You're discipline for eating is inspiring.

Gayle - WAY TO GO! Knew you could do it! Awesome race.

GREAT JOB GAYLE!!! Sounds like you had a great run!

Sherry - sorry to hear that you DD got sick. Poor thing. Have fun disinfecting! And thanks for the comments on my progress, it means alot!!!

Heidi - I hope your cat comes home soon. Ours does that once in a while and it seems like as soon as I start thinking she isn't coming back, presto, there she is!

I have a turkey breast cooking in the oven right now and it smells delicious!!

Okay, meals for today:

M#1: protein shake
M#2: salad w/can white tuna, 1/4 c black beans & some veggies
M#3: 1 c Turkey Black Bean Chili
M#4: 4 oz turkey breast, 1/2 c brown rice & veggies
M#5: apple & string cheese

Not sure I'll get #6 in, got a late start today.

Just poppin' back in to say that the Turkey Black Bean Chili is AWESOME!!!

And, I just fininshed Drill Max Cardio premix. What a fun workout.

Wow Gayle - that is AWESOME! You must be completely pumped! Great story, too, about the guys you were running with! I bet that cameraderie makes the whole experience even more fun.

Hi Girls --

Just checking in on my rest day to say hi! I ate clean all day so far, but of course that will soon change when we head out to our friends' SB party!

Melissa- Hope you are feeling better today -way to go on your weight loss!!!

Michelle- LOVED your rant yesterday! I can’t wait until I start feeling as energized and optimistic as you!

Belinda – I’m resting today too – I’ll be watching the superbowl at our friends’ house and I’ve made some healthy dip to bring to the party so that I won’t sabotage my eating plan!

Sherry – The girl scouts day sounds like fun! You are giving them some great memories, I am sure. Not to mention being an active, healthy role model! Hope your DD feels better soon.

Jennifer – It must feel great to have that mortgage paid off – congratulations!!

Heidi – I know what you mean! Who does he think I am writing to – my online BF?! Probably thinks I am shopping….which is sometimes true ;-) Hope you have a nice dinner out this evening!

Hi to anyone I've missed! Can't wait to start training again tomorrow!

Hi everyone!
Sorry, DH has started a home project for us (home office), so I’ve been a little tied up. We bought new chairs and a nice corner desk for him (me and DS have smaller desks on the side with our computers. Anyway, you know how it goes…he gets a little miffed if I’m on the computer instead of helping, ugh.

I ran my 10 miles today, on the treadmill. I just couldn’t bring myself to breathe the cold air this morning. I’m definitely a morning runner, after 3 pregnancies this almost 45 year old bladder can’t take all that jarring after some water and coffee, lol. My sinuses are killing me, I hope it’s just some congestion and not a cold coming on.

Belinda – Enjoy your rest day and some of the Super Bowl. Wow, that is some time difference between us, huh? My DH is on his laptop on his recliner all the time but hates it because I’m in the other room on my computer. WTH, lol.

Gayle – AWESOME PR!!!! I am so freakin’ proud of you! Great job! Enjoy your Super Bowl party and BF’s b’day. LOL, I loved your race report…it’s so much fun to pick a couple of people out and go for it. Wow, 59 years old…that is very inspiring, gives this 45 year old some hope, lol.

Michelle – I LOVED your post from yesterday, it was very well said! Congrats on the 5 lb. loss (I can’t even imagine weighing 111 lbs….lol). You must be an itty bitty little thing.

Thanks for the tip Lori! Yeah, the shipping is a little high.

Sherry – Your GS outing sounded like fun! Hmmm….I’ve got one of those body types that doesn’t build muscle as fast as I’d like but I’m hoping with the reduced cardio, I’ll see more muscle. I hope your DD feels better soon.

Jennifer – What wonderful news!!! I am SO happy things have worked out and you can relax a little and breathe. YAY!

Heidi – We must be married to the same type of guy….DH gets antsy if I spend too much time on the computer. Awww, I hope your cat shows up soon. You’ll have to tell us what you think of your new iTreads (26 is a real winner!)

Melissa – 8 lbs. is GREAT! Wow, you’ve about doubled my loss!!! Your food always looks so GOOD!

Christina – Enjoy your Super Bowl Party. Hmmmm….must be a conspiracy going on with all these men, lol. Hey we need some female camaraderie, right?

See ya all tomorrow,
Kathy

Hi,

Thank you Sherry, Melissa and Christina!

I guess my DH isn't the only one that is nosey or suspicious! He was actually looking into my posts and how many times I have posted! What's with that!

Yes honey...this is for you....I talk all day about you and only you!

THERE TAKE THAT! Geesh.

Christina: Here's sending good eating vibes for your SuperBowl night! It seems a lot of people are going to be watching this. DH doesn't....so I get out of this one. Good luck to whichever team you are rooting for! :)

Gayle: The lasagna sounds good right about now. The race with the 2 (Old Guys) sounds like you all had a great time. My uncle...68 still races and D... is he fast! At most of the races he comes in either in the top 10 or 20 depending on the size of the race. They aren't really old after all huh!? I tell my MIL all the time....keep moving and you are therefore young. The moment you stop is the day you are old.
Great job on Cardio Kicks yesterday. I just got this one and haven't done it yet. Maybe put it in the schedule for Tues.

Michelle: I will have to go back and read your post from yesterday...it sounds interesting.

Melissa: Hope you feel better too. :)

Tomorrow I am making the BFL Pot Roast. I have to be at work early and won't get back until late. Having crock-pot meals ready when I get home is a must on days like that.

Still waiting for people to get ready to go out to dinner. DH, DD and MIL are resting right now. My two sons and I are just hanging out in the living room...starving. I guess I will go get some carrots and munch on them while waiting.

Have a great night everyone. BBT Going to workout my schedule in advance for the next 6 weeks or so.

Hello! Can someone please explain what BFL entails in regards to nutrition/exercise? I have been trying to lose 7 lbs for what seems like years now, and no matter what I do, the weight just doesn't want to leave. I'm up for a challenge and maybe this is where it is at....HELP!!!!!
