BFL for Mon Mar 31st 2008

Cathlete
Good morning girls,

When I took on the BFL challenge 12 weeks ago, I never thought I was going to last 4 weeks! I knew it wasn’t a quick fix. I knew it was a life change. I finally have my eating pretty much under control. I learned so much about myself the last 12 weeks. All you girls motivate and supported me every step of the way! I want to THANK each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart for your support, motivation and friendship! YOU GIRLS ROCK!

Today I am starting a new 12 week BFL challenge! I didn’t reach the weight I wanted to reach (I am still 3 pounds over!), but overall I am very happy with my results! I lost close to 20 pounds. I have more confidence; I look and feel better about myself! My eating this weekend wasn’t clean! Sunday my eating was very good, but not on Saturday! I will eat super, super clean and give it all I can for this new challenge! No more cheating! My goal for this challenge is to lose the last 18 pounds once and for all! I will start the new challenge with BFL style UB today! I also will stick with BFL style weight workouts for awhile and see if this will make a difference! I also will start running more, no more excuse! I will work hard and eat clean!

Off to a new start! I am excited!
I will be back after my workout!

Have a fantstic Monday and workout!
Belinda

Hi girls,

I am done with my UB workout! I still need to stretch, shower and take the dogs for a long walk! It is nice and sunny today! Off to enjoy the day! BBL!

Have a great workout!
Belinda

Belinda,

I'm right here joining you. Challenge #2 - Day 1! I'd like to go down 10#'s this time. More importantly, I want to decrease my body fat and try to reach the "ideal" of 22%. I also agree that this is a great group to keep you motivated. Thanks to all.

PUB done. Now off to shower and get the kids ready. The first day back after a week off is always rough.

Good morning to all who follow. Have a great workout and a clean eating day!

Hi Ladies!

I’m so sorry I’ve been gone. I don’t want to sit here and write a book about it – but life happens and sometimes you have to change your plan. I’ve changed my plan – just not the goal!

I started the year with 8 weeks straight of not missing a workout. Once I pulled my back and miss the first one, I knew I was in trouble. Moving to a new house just continued that break in the workouts. I wasn’t on-line here at the new house and work has been crazy, so another strike for not having to be accountable to you ladies! (I NEED my “motivation station”!!)

The good news is – we are totally settled and they finally got me back on-line here at home!! I am back on track!! At 4:30 this morning there wasn’t even a question – PUB was calling out to me.

Actually, now that I look back – maybe my body just needed something different. I was loving BFL – loving the workouts – but I was struggling with my eating. Not eating bad food – just too much. After 8 weeks I was only down 3 pounds and it was really bothering me – I know, it’s not about the scale! However, after taking a break (not to mention the stress from the move) I lost 5 additional pounds in the last few weeks. So, I’m feeling better than ever!

I spent the weekend reading over all your posts that I missed. Wow you have all been busy! And the motivation that you all send can’t be matched anywhere!

Before I get to all the personals later – I do have to say—yahoo to you Kathy on the 20 miles! AND Sherry hang in there with your toe! And of course, I missed you big sis! Hopefully work will calm down a little as well so I can e-mail later from work! And don’t give me a hard time, you do it too Melissa!! Har har! Missed you too Heidi and Belinda – okay, I need to stop or this will go on forever!!

Here’s to “adjusting” when need be!!

Hey Sherry and Belinda - can I join you today with Day One??!!

Michelle

Good Morning,

Belinda - Congrats on your 20 pounds. That's amazing!!! It's just a habit now and you don't even have to think about it. I'm sure those last pounds will just melt off of your svelte little body:)

Kathy - Congrats to you also on your 20 mile run! I'm tired just thinking about that.

Sherry - Hope you enjoyed PUB. Onward to the next challenge!

Michelle - Welcome back. Glad to hear you are all settled in your new house.

I need to start Challenge #2 with all of you. My problems is that our spring break starts on Friday and we will be going out of town. I don't feel that I will be able to stick with my workouts and/or clean eating next week. We are going with friends, who by the way laugh at me and Cathe, so any workout I do will have be when they leave the house. I will continue this week and just take a break the following and start my week 1 when everyone else is on week 3.

Off to get DD out of the bed for school. Today's workout will be 4DS kickbox including legs and abs, I hope!!

Carolyn

Good Morning Ladies,
I am sooo ready for this challenge. I mananged about 4 weeks of the last one. And as I continued to workout hard, my eating slipped big time. My goal for this 12 weeks is to finally get a grip on my eating and get to my goal of 115. I have not weighed in a few weeks, but last time I did I think I was at 121. Spring break in Fla was a feast though, so I am sure I am up a few more. I am determined to eat cleanly 6 days then have a moderate cheat day allowing myself 500 cals.

Belinda, 20 pounds..that is awesome!!! You must be so proud of yourself.
Hi Sherry, Michele, Carolyn and all to follow.
I have a test this morning I need to to study more for. I will check back in later.
My workout today will be PLB this morning, and a power walk this afternoon.
Lets, all reach our goals and make this a lifelong change!!! I know we can do it!!
Susan

OMG! I come here, just expecting a NORMAL Monday morning post, and what do I get????? Motivation Station LEADERS! WOW! You're all so pumped up and fired up and....POSITIVE, STRONG, READY TO ROCK IT!!!

COME ON THE BUS!!! We're headed to WONDERFUL PLACES TOGETHER!

I don't have time right now for personals either. So that will have to wait till later, so SO sorry!

I want to add MY weekend success, which was yesterday's Free Day! First free day of this long 26 week challenge. My goal for this challenge is to reign in and get control of my binge eating. I started with Mass at Church yesterday, which just set the tone for the rest of the day. I did eat things NOT BFL, but I did so in CONTROLLED PORTIONS, and on 3 different occassions, I LEFT FOOD ON MY PLATE because I WAS FULL! That may sound simple to some, but to a binge-eater, THAT IS HUGE! I recognized when I'd had enough, and I pushed the plate away! I'm pumped up about that!

OK...my workout is done! I did PLB with my normal additions and changes, and included the floor work. I have to get the kids on the bus, then I'm coming back here to shower, prep some food (a large salad, Chili Rellenos from EFL, and a few tuna wraps). Then work, then back home with NOTHING on today/tonight's calendar! I'll hit personals later, I PROMISE!

BUT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU FINE YOUNG LADIES.....you DO know that you ALL play a very important part on this TEAM of ours, correct?

Light up your day.....one day at a time!

BBL

Belinda, I am so proud of you for losing that weight and your new goals for the next 12 weeks! You are a fabulous lady!

Sherry, great workout today! Enjoy your day #1 and make it a great one!

Michelle, I am so happy you are settled in your new place! Way to go on the weight loss! Is your back completely healed?

Kathy, CONGRATULATIONS on your 20 mile run! I knew you could do it! I am so happy you pushed yourself on that last mile too!

Carolyn, have fun with 4DS kickbox. I love that one! Have a great day!

Susan, you are so close to your goal! You can do it!

Gayle, I thought the same thing about coming here this morning expecting the norm! Great job on realizing you were full. That is a HUGE accomplishment in your challenge! WAY TO GO!

I will do an iTrain, not sure which one though. Anyone want to suggest an iTrain workout for me? Just finished with 20oz of water and 2 protein pancakes. Off to the Dr., back still not right. x(

Lets make this a SUPER CLEAN EATING, HARD WORKOUT day!:p

Good Morning girls!

Today is going to be a UB,just not sure which one yet!?! I will also do a 60min powerwalk on the tm while watching a movie(Becoming Jane). I love powerwalking!

hey to everybody,i'll bbl

Belinda-Hugs & High fives to you! Im so happy for you and your success! you have worked hard and ive always admired your self control! Fantastic job :)!

Well, I was brave and weighed in..I am a wopping 125.0..my heaviest!
I have some work to do.
I will be back after class to check in.

Hey guys! Just another QUICK check-in before I head to work/school. WE have teacher conferences Tues, Wed and Thur, so the kiddos have 1/2 days and I don't work (since there's no lunch those days). My plan for those 3 days is this: each day, I will have a list of things I want to get done around the house...either a projects, cleaning, phone calls, etc. THAT's what I'll work on during those 3 hours the kids are in school.

I just checked and cleaned out my freezer up in the kitchen and my BIG chest freezer in the basement! I still have 8 BFL meals that are frozen and ready to go. I also made a BIG fresh salad, and this afternoon I'm making that Chili Rellenos recipe FINALLY! LOL I'm also baking a large batch of banana pancakes for older DS because I've got TONS of bananas frozen and they're taking up space too! lol So, what does this mean? That means there's PLENTY of food to eat during this week and into the weekend. I WILL NOT MAKE A NEW RECIPE OF SOUP OR CHILI TILL THE FREEZER STASH IS EATEN! LOL

OK...sorry, again, for no personals! LATER!

Gayle

Morning!
Congratulations Belinda!!! Wow, what an awesome challenge you had!

I’m loving all this excitement and motivation in today’s thread. I’ll have to come back during lunch and do more personals.

This morning I did Cathe’s Lower Body Pyramid (standing only) + Upper Body Pyramid + 10 minute abs from Kelly Coffey-Myers new DVD.

I’m feeling pretty good today considering the length of yesterday’s long run. Only one more long run left (22 miles) in a couple of weeks then I start tapering. I’m going to start doing “brick” workouts tomorrow (run 2 miles/spin 50 minutes/run 3.1 miles). This should simulate the duathlon I’m doing 4/27. I want to try a test run of it outside this weekend with my bike and running on the jog path (since it’s a rest week in marathon training). :)

BBL,
Kathy

GOOD MORNING LADIES!!!!! Your posts today are ROCKIN' MY WORLD! Wow, can't get any better than this...or can it?!?!

Belinda - 20 lbs down is AWESOME!!!!!

So, I had such a great and positive day yesterday, that I'm calling that Day 1 of Challenge 2....WHOSE WITH ME??? Sounds like a few of us are starting a new challenge this week. And we are pumped up!

I think I have that "Week 1/Challenge 2" excitement back...WOOHOO!!!

Susan and Michelle - welcome back! We missed you and we NEED you!!

Sherry and Belinda - I'm with you on Challenge #2. My goal is just to build on what I learned in Challenge #1. Losing another 13 lbs wouldn't hurt either.;)

Carolyn - we'll still be here on Week 3 when you are reading to start another Challenge. Have fun while you are away!

Gayle - great job on leaving food on your plate yesterday. I know how hard that is! Don't you feel GREAT for not blowing it on FREE DAY?!?!?

Who did I miss? Stephanie, Amelia & Kathy...HI!!!:7

I spent the majority of my day yesterday alternating being outside playing with DD and helping DH with the garage windows and inside cooking. Last night I prepared my salads for the week. Fridge is stocked and looking healthy!

Oh, I froze a protein shake last night....:9 ! I made it around 4 pm, poured it in a bowl and ate it around 8:30 while DH and DD had real ice cream. It was such a nice treat. It's icy, not creamy like ice cream, but close enough. Could be because I used 1/2 c water & 1/2 c 1%. Maybe if I use all milk next time it will be creamier. And, it took a long time to eat, which is good for me. I can drink a shake in about 10 minutes and then be looking for something else to eat. This will be perfect in the summer time. TRY IT!! I made coffee.

BBL ladies. Off to heat up my Beef & Barley soup for M#2!

I cannot wait to go home and work out. You guys have me all PUMPED UP!!!

Hello again -- I'll sneak in some computer time while at work - he he!

Belinda - I'm so excited to begin this new challenge with you. Every morning I look forward to logging-in knowing you are already working out! You are so motivating!

Sherry - Also glad you will be with us in Challenge #2. I always love to read your post -- I have a son and daughter about the same ages as yours -- so I feel a special relationship with you. It's hard putting ourselves first - but now I know that it makes us even better mothers!

Carolyn - Join us when you are ready - 100%. We'll still be here at week 3 and we will motivate you on!!

Susan - I hear you -- it is all about the eating. I'm getting mine under control too. Oh my goodness - I know you are upset with the scale -- but you ONLY have 10 pound to lose! You can do that!!!

Gayle - Way to go about being in control on your free day. Tell me how the Chili Rellenos turns out -- I've been wanting to try that!

Stephanie -- My back is awesome! Thanks for asking. The week after I did it, I worked out three times -- and really shouldn't have. Injuries NEED time to heal -- I learned that the hard way. Now I'm more than ready to get back to it!!

Amelia - How was "Becoming Jane"? I've been wanting to see that!

Kathy - Talk about motivation! After 20 miles I'd still be in bed!! Congrats on your workout today!!! Can I borrow you Superwoman cape for my attempt at running tomorrow?? :)

Melissa - You must not be at work yet - har har!!

Okay - who did I miss??

Michelle

There you are Melissa - we must have been posting at the same time!! Challenge 2 -- here we come!!!!

Michelle

Heidi - I was reading the posts from yesterday -- your son plays guitar? This weekend we watched "August Rush" which was on pay-per-view. A perfect family movie. I know your sons are a little older -but I'm sure they would love the guitar scenes. My entire family (including DH) loved it!!

Also Gayle - Yes, I'm reading all the posts I have missed. So, you like Lipstick Jungle -- don't you know you can watch all the episodes on your computer??!! Catch up girl!! That's what I had to do with the Survivor I missed during the move. :)

Michelle

I finished my workout. I changed it around a bit and I ended up doing 4DS HIS, all of it. Then I did Segment 3 of Core Max.

I'm going to do a 4DS rotation all this week then take next week off. I plan on walking and stuff like that but when I get back, it's going to be "GAME ON" ladies. I will be so ready to jump into Challenge #2.
My goal for this challenge is to 1)lose the weight I lost and then found again during Challenge #1 (oops!), 2) be in the best shape ever, mentally and physically, for my DS's graduation in May. I hope a week off will get me mentally strong again for all of this.

Thanks for all your support :)

Carolyn

Hi all! Just back real quick to post my meals. You're all probably getting tired of reading what I eat, but it keeps me accountable!

M#1: 1 slice banana applesauce bread, 1 cup 1%
M#2: 1 1/2 c of Beef & Barley Soup
M#3: salad w/ 1/2 can of tuna
M#4: 1 1/2 c of chicken black bean chili
M#5: 6oz salmon, red potatoes & steamed brocolli
M#6: apple w/1T natural pb

BBL!!

I'm reading over everything I have missed the last few weeks. I just have to say:

WAY TO GO KATHY! Just saw your pics. You look fabulous!!! I think yours is a wake up call to me that I should NOT focus on the scale. It's not about losing 4 pounds or 20 pounds -- it is about the way your body changes and that muscle weighs more than fat! I'm really happy for you!!!
