BFL for Feb-20-08

Hello Melissa and Gayle,

Melissa: I thought I had been given a reprieve from all this clothes stuff....DD just spent $400 on clothes from VS and returned them all! Nothing seems to make her happy in that department. Good Luck! And no I did not have to pay for her clothes. LOL

Gayle: Can you and I start this journey back to basics together? I spent Saturday night re-reading the BFL website for some inspiration and new food menus. If I tend to eat the same things week to week I end up wondering into those quick grab snacks (AKA chips that my DH keeps buying) This weekend he did the shopping and bought all the wrong things for us to have in the house! MEN! He doesn't get it...I need fruit and veggies not pizza, meatball subs and chips.

I am so happy for you all that you have come this far. Also very proud to have you as my workout partners. :)

Let's get moving and rock these last 4-5 weeks! We all can do this!

BBL Heidi :D

Hi Kathy,

Wow!!! I am going to be there yelling and cheering for you! Go Kathy Go!!!

I missed the boat along the way about the Runervals. What is this new thing? Where did you find them? How do they compare to CC or iTreads?

Would love some info. Thanks. :)

BBL Heidi

Gayle - once again, you never let us down! You are superwoman, because even when you were stuggling - you kept motivating US!! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Now let us help motivate you!! I, too, am wondering about the free day. I know it is part of the plan. But, personally, I don't need it - or like it. I drink my shake, eat a healthy lunch and snacks -- and pretty much eat a cheat MEAL at night along with a cheat DESSERT (cake!!) ha ha!! I'm sort of an all or nothing gal too, and if I woke up and decided to take care of ALL the cravings I had all week - I'd be a mess.

I've read on the BFL forum how tough the 2nd challenge is. Geez, most of us are still struggling to get through the first one -- and you started your second one with hardly any break. So, don't be hard on yourself.

Actually, I'm glad you are starting over for another 12 weeks -- because your shadow (me) still needs you!! ;)

Michelle

One more thing about Biggest Loser -- it was so interesting how differently they felt about feeding their kids. I've been feeling that way too. We went through a McDonalds stage -- but now my kids favorite "fast food" is Subway or a chicken sandwhich from Chick-fil-a.

Michelle
P.S. Hey Heidi!! You've had so much going on!! Hey at least you can start over with Gayle! :)

Melissa - I must have missed the clothes issue. What's up?? I have this really neat thing in my daughter's closet -- it hangs from the pole and has a shelf for each day labeled with the days of the week. On Sunday I do her laundry and we pick out the outfits she will wear all week and put them in each cubbie. Every morning she gets ready for school and there is no discussion -- she just pulls out what we have already picked for her.

Michelle

I finished 4DS Legs. I actually did the lower body premix that included calves from LIS. I just love everything about the 4DS workouts:p.

Gayle - Congrats on revamping your BFL challenge. It is a huge step in the right direction that you were able to recognize and then correct what has gone astray during this challenge. This will only make your more determined and motivated to acheive your results.

Belinda - I am going to have to try some of those premixes from Legs and Glutes. I have only done original w/o. You make them sound to fun.

Heidi - I love Butts and Guts. I can't walk for days after that one!

Michelle - I am soooo glad they voted Paul off!! What a pig he is. Okay, so how many plates of wings did he eat??? I feel he has such an attitude and he really didn;t care about the team, only Kelly. They are better off without him. Now, how about the 56 pounds the Blue Team lost... WhooooHoooo!!

Sherry - Can't you donate some of those cookies to the service men??
I would totally cave if I had those in my house.

Kathy - I hope you worked all those cake calories off on the bike. Did you have a nice birthday?

Hello to everyone else I may have missed

Carolyn

Michelle - that really works? I'm envious! Even if my DD picks out her clothes the night before, she still changes her mind when she gets dressed. Now it's not so much that, the problem is clothes "bother her". A pair of pants bother her today, but she could put the same ones on next week and they are fine. I can't figure it out and I've stopped trying. It's insane!!

Hi everyone!

ETA: Biggest Loser ---- I am so glad that Paul went home!!!}( And I can't believe how much weight the blue team lost. It's just UNREAL!!!

Melissa: I totally agree! I try not to comment one way or the other about my DD's choice of clothes. It is her decision and I just let her know that when she's ready for a shopping trip just let me know. ;-)

Ok...my legs are really starting to hurt. Especially the knee area. Not IT troubles...just a little sore. It might be in part to all the trips up and down flights of stairs to the third floor in the past couple of days.

Carolyn: Next leg day I will have to give 4DS a try. Sounds really good. :)

Dinner plans:
Steamed Haddock with loads of veggies.
Snack: low-fat yogurt

What is on your plate?

Have a great evening. Heidi

What do you mean "bother her"? My daughter doesn't like if things are itchy -- for instance I don't buy her shirts with cute things stitched on the front because it itches her. I have to buy her very simple stuff. Gotta love boys, they are easy -- my son will wear anything I pick out. :)

I'm amazed how much weight the blue team lost while at home. Not even ONE french fry. I'm going to remember that. At first I didn't like this show -- because of the "temptations" -- now I realize that is REAL life.

Michelle

Hey guys. THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much for your continuing support! I don't want anybody feeling like I abandoned them on this current challenge (even though some of us are on different weeks). Carolyn said it best when she said I 'revamped' it....that's exactly what I did! And I knew that if I kept trudging along that challenge, these next 4-5 weeks would have been a VERY SAD excuse for EFFORT!

Free Day...my plan is to take a limited Free Day during the week (most of the time) with an occassional exception of a weekend Free Day if there's an event going on that I'd like to indulge in. BUT...Free Day will have 6 small, planned meals and treats. Mid Week. I'm trying to avoid the Free Day on the weekend turning into a Free Weekend! Make sense?

Heidi-BACK TO BASICS! LET'S DO IT!

But here's your warning, ladies!

I'M PUMPED UP AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gayle

p.s. Sorry, for no personals, as we're heading out the door for Religion classes.

Hey Michelle,

You got that right!

I will not have a free day planned every week. This will leave me with a little wiggle room for an unplanned dinner out once in awhile.

Now...on to that food plan. Need to have this set up for at lease a month in advance. I also do this for my workouts.

BBL Heidi

Hey Gayle!

I am ready!

You and I are on the same wave length about that "Free Day". Always good to have some room in there for unplanned nights out.

Thurs: My workout planned:
GS Shoulders-bi's
Abs coremax 2
Easy step routine to loosen these ever tightening legs

Have a great night! Heidi

I am so excited!!! I just ordered the High Step for me and me only!!!
I have been wanting one for over a year and decided I have earned it and by gosh I'm getting it. I am tired of putting myself last all of the time.

So there.

Carolyn

You Go Carolyn! You deserve something once in awhile too!

Have a great workout with it when you get it! What is your first workout your going to do with it?

Heidi

Good for you Carolyn! You'll find so many uses for it. Did it come with any DVD's?

So I think I've sabotaged myself with my "I'm not going to weigh myself until Week 9" challenge. I've been doing okay, but every time I slip up even a smidge, I justify it by telling myself that I'm not weighing in this week so it's no big deal. So, I'm going to go back to weighing myself every Sunday, no matter what. I also need to start posting my meals again. I was doing it for the longest time and it was keeping me accountable, then I stopped. Why is it getting difficult all of a sudden? I think I'm getting too comfortable!
