BFFM week of Oct 10

Janie - Congrats on the 2 lb loss. Way to make those adjustments with your calories.

Carla - I haven't tried the carb cycling yet but I have been working on the fat and protein ratios.

FitJedi - You can do it!!! Where have I heard that?

:D

Marsha - 8 lbs. of fat!!! That's fantastic.

X - Way to go resisting that cake.

Vicky - Take a day off and see how you feel. Maybe your body just needs a break.

Anne - Welcome!! You won't be sorry about buying the book. I think it's a good investment.

Dayna - I went ahead and downloaded the home version of FitDay. You can input your own recipes. I'm still figuring it out though.

Calories today - 1608 - 20%F, 44%C and 34%P. My workout was S&H legs, Boot Camp core and stretch #3. Feeling good. I hope all of you are too.

:) :)

Hello 'Burn the Fat People'

Wow, we have lots of peeps in here now!

Carla - I'm trying to carb cycle too, but just haven't been able to master it. My higher carb days just 'happen'. The higher protein days seem to be easier to get in the right proportions without much thought. I will need to work on planning my meals several days in advance to make the higher carb days more predictable. How are you managing your higher carb days?

Marsha - Woo hoo! 8 pounds of fat. That's great!

X - You show that cake who's boss!

Vicky - Are you eating higher protein? I ask because I got very fatigued working out the first week on I started BFFM. I try (emphasis on 'try' because I'm not so good at it yet!) to get in a higher carb day at least once every 4 or 5 days or my workouts really suffer.

Anne - Welcome!

Dayna - That bushel of crabs was gone by the time I got to my 3rd or 4th one. Now that I'm used to eating every 2-3 hours I was absolutely starving by the time I got home. That won't happen again.

Yesterday was my birthday so I got to go out to dinner. The grand total for yesterday was a whopping 2410 calories 44/27/22 (plus 7 for alcohol - a glass of red wine). I guess it wasn't too bad since I did have the wine and apple pie a la mode for dessert. Just those two things totalled about 700 calories. But we're back on track today. Should end up with 1550 total calories.

Tomorrow I'm taking my backup copy of BFFM to the office to print it out. I've read it on my computer but I'm finding it hard to find and re-read sections I'm interested in reviewing. Hopefully when I get it on paper it will be easier to find stuff.

Happy burning!

Hello Fellow Burners,

Welcome the new burners. This is a great program and it works.

I was just lazy to check in last week. I’m still doing well but got a little bit confused with my weight. My start weigh was 158lbs 5 weeks ago. Last week I was down by 5 lbs. I check my weight after 8-9 days so my “official” weighs in was today morning. I had an appointment with my doctor on Monday and there I had to step on the scale. It was around noon and of course with shoes and clothes on. I was 160lbs. I tried not to be too disappointed but of course yesterday morning the first thing was to step on the scale. And I was 152lbs. I loved that number so just for fun I checked it today again. I was 155lbs today morning.
Did this ever happen to any of you?

Today I will go to the gym and will meet a trainer. This is a new gym and they offer this service free on this week.

Talk to you soon,

Krisztina

Hi Burners,

I've been really pleased with my progress....only a few pretzels here and there (ah, we all have our vices..hehehe), but in general my clean eating plan is going well;-) .

I've also been enjoying Debbie's (aka Fitnessfreak) new rotation and doing a little Turbo Jam on "ab days" and Pilates Reformer work on some "Yoga days." Mixed in with my Cathe workouts it's been great fun and I've beem getting some really great results.

Happy Burning,
Robin:9

Hi Burners,

Krisztina - You should go by your scale. The time of day you weigh, what you've eaten or drank, and what you're wearing can make a big impact to the scale. Besides, your doctor's scale may just be calibrated differently than yours. I weigh myself once a week on Friday, first thing in the morning. If I do it every day I just make myself go crazy with all the fluctuations! If you have any sensitivity to sodium like me you can see your weight go up or down 3-5 pounds overnight.

Robin - Sounds like you're doing great. I've heard people talking about Turbo Jam. What's it like?

Today was KPC day. I like it but it really doesn't get my heartrate up very high. Besides, I'm a total klutz when I do the punch combos. To make up for what I lacked today, I feel a mish mosh coming on for tomorrow!

I printed out BFFM at work today. I printed on both sides of the paper so it's not too huge. It's maybe a little over an inch thick. It's now in a nice binder with little tabs for the chapters. I feel so organized now. While I was at it I printed out the Cathe Compendium and put that in the binder too.

Nothing else new. Keep on burning....

Good morning burners,
Ok, in high school the term burner was a bad one. Not here though! Anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone for the support this week. I took Wed off as suggested and upped my carbs and I was so ready for my workout this morning. I did IMAX2 at 150% and it was fun! I don't weigh and measure until tomorrow but I will be OK with just maintaining given the past week. I know that TTOTM is coming in two weeks so next week could be a difficult one. Your encouragement helped me this week so I will be here ALOT next week if that is the case. Take care and remember, JUMP HIGHER! Vicky

Hi Vicky and the other burner babes,

Vicky - Sounds like you had a good workout. IMAX2 is still my favorite interval DVD. I weigh tomorrow too. Let's wish each other luck!

This morning I felt a need for a super duper cardio so I did the Low Max blast only premix paired with IMAX3 blast only premix. Tomorrow is SJP. I really like that one for the sweat factor too.

Really low on calories yesterday, only 1183 at 45/44/11. I worked late and didn't want to eat my dinner after 9 pm. Hopefully I'll get at least 1400 today. Work isn't as crazy today.

Later all!

Hi all!!!

Didn't get my calories to 1400 yesterday even though I ate a lot of food. Today I'm getting 1535 - 20%F, 44%C, 33%P. I really need to keep the calories to about 1600. I'll weigh this weekend to see where I am.

Workout yesterday was S&H shoulders (killer) and a 30 minute interval run. Today was GSL Timesaver 1, abs and stretch #1.

Hi everyone!

TK - it looks like you have almost reached your goal -- good for you! I am on my last 10 lbs as of today, yeah! You have been a big help the last few weeks and I am glad you keep posting. You look great in your picture.

I usually don't get up early to exercise on Fridays because I go to work early. That will change in two weeks when DH goes back to 5 eight hr days so I won't be able to come to work early. I am hoping to do ME tonight and finish it to the fullest since I bommed out on Mon. I am going to see if the kids let me get to it. If not, it's up early tomorrow for cardio and weights! I am considering visiting my neices grave tonight as her headstone came in. I have not talked about that here but it has been just over 6 months and as of today I have lost all the weight I gained from that crisis. (I usually eat when I am upset but I am trying to replace that with exercise.) She was 5 and it was a farm accident. I think one of the harder things is watching my sister in such great pain. I miss my neice but my heart breaks for my sister daily, she is my best friend.

Sorry for the side note I guess I am just thinking about it now. I have lower calories scheduled for today so I can continue burning. How do you all stay so low with your calorie counts? I can't seem to get much below 1700 or I starve. You all are an inspiration. Keep Burning! Vicky

Hi Burners and Happy Friday!

TK - hope you have a nice slow day at work today. Happy belated birthday! I wish I had thought about printing the book double-sided. I had mine spiral-bound, but they split it into 3 books. I never remember which chaper is in which "book" for reference.

Krisztina - how was your meeting with the trainer?

Robin - I love pretzels, too! Though my favorites are the honey-wheat flavored - can't keep them in the house or else the bag will cringe in fear when it sees me coming.

Vicky - what a terribly sad story about your niece. Hugs to you and your family. I can't imagine dealing with such a tragedy. Use that incredible 150% energy you have to get through this.

I'm dealing with round 3 of this #$%!@ virus. I can't believe I did Imax3 on Wednesday, and yesterday I felt like a truck hit me. My eating was um, definitely not good, so today I'm just keeping it light and resting. I have some herbs from my doctor that seem to take care of the virus, I think I need to keep taking them even when I start feeling better. Not exercising makes me crazy!!!!x(

Hi all,

Bah! As you can see from my slider I went up a pound from last week. Well I'm trying to put it in perspective that I was down 3 pounds last week and this week is just a blip. I will do my body fat percentage tomorrow, maybe some better news there. I will not let the scale dictate the way I eat! My clothes are definitely looser. I will stay the course..

Vicky - so sad about your niece. Life is just so fragile. Hugs to your family.

Dayna - One thing I noticed about the BFFM index is that they don't have the page numbers listed for the chapters. I wrote the page numbers in by hand on my copy. Funny thing: when I was printing it all out in the office the other night I must have killed a dozen trees before I got the three hole punch paper loaded right and was successfully printing on both sides (not upside down, in the right order, and not double printing the same side twice!). I should have counted the exercise running back and forth to the printer in my exercise log. Oh, and thank you for the b'day greeting. One of the very few things I like about birthdays now is that my heartrate monitor goes down one more notch for my target heartrate zone LOL.

Today I did SJP. I really love the music on that one.

I'll be going to the boat tomorrow so I most likely won't be online tomorrow or Sunday. Have a great burning weekend everyone!

Hello, Fit Friends!

TK-Happy birthday! Have a great weekend on the boat! I love the water! We were supposed to go out in the boat this weekend too, but the seas are 3-5 ft.

Dayna-I am so sorry to hear that. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Robin-Air-popped popcorn is my weakness. Kept me stuck at my weight this week too. x( I shouldn't of had in, but I caved. Now I don't have it in my house. I only use it for high carb days. I have learned I can eat it only on those days. The others I have to cycle my carbs to lose.

Jamarba-Sounds like a good workout!

Today I did StepFit, CTX ba/sh/ch. I am not sure if we are supposed to check in everyday or what?

Have a great weekend!:+

Hello Burners,

Truton- Thanks for your response for my question regarding the scale issues. I will just ignore other scales and stick with mine.

Happy belated Birthday! I hope you will have fun on the boat.

Vicky- That is a sad story. Hugs to your family.

Dayna- The trainer was nice. She is about 30 years old and she looks gorgeous. She does competition and also prepares others for the show.
She thought I shouldn’t lose more then 5-8 lbs. I’m not sure about that. She will pinch me next time and will make a program for me. I will let you guys know about the fat result.
The gym was nice, and only 2 people signed up yet.

I hope your virus is gone for now and feel better.

My eating wasn’t perfect the last couple days but I know is going to be better from tomorrow because my mother will go back to Hungary and I will get back my kitchen.
I bought Natural PB and it is delicious.

Robin- I love pretzels too but right now I’m fighting with a huge bag of M&M’s. They are my enemy.

Tomorrow I will bike and on Monday I will go to the gym.

Krisztina

Hi BFFM'ers!!!!

Vicky - So sorry to hear what you and your family are going through. Sent prayers your way. Are you feeling better today?

Dayna - How's the virus? Feel better.

Kris - Working with a PT sounds nice. I'll bet you get lots of good pointers.

I had pizza for dinner last night and again tonight. I thought I would try and get my calories up between 1800-2000 this weekend but I didn't make it. I think I will have to eat some more good calorie dense foods.

Today's workout Tae Bo II and I finished Cardio Kicks from where I left off yesterday.

I weighed and measured today. I lost a pound and 2.2% BF. I lost about an inch overall.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!:)
