Hey 'Burn the Fat People'!

I thought I'd give X a break this week and start this week's thread.

To all who enter here, please feel free to jump in and contribute. This is not a closed thread. Anyone who is currently using or thinking of using BFFM (this is the eBook by Tom Venuto called Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle) you are very welcome to join in! We'd love to hear from you.

Hi TK and everyone else,
I had an awful start to the week. I didn't want to get out of bed and workout. It took me 10 min. to get going. Everyone was throwing food at me this weekend so I know I needed to workout. My DH even bought me a candy bar, yikes! I finally started ME but didn't complete it entirely and even left off some reps. I just couldn't get into it. This hasn't happened it a long time so I am hoping it was a one day event. The eating for today has been clean and I am hoping to continue it faithfully. I am feeling a little frustrated with the slow weight loss thing but I know it is of my own making. I have had sugar at least once a day for over a week now. Time to stop the madness and get serious once again. Sixteen weeks until Hawaii with 11 lbs to go. Take care everyone! Vicky

Hi, TK and everyone else!

I was wondering if I could join ya'll? I have been BFFMing for a about a month now. I am slowly feeling and seeing a change. I ordered the book a while back, but it took me a while to get into it. I guess I was scared to eat so much and really confused. I think I have it now.
Anyway, I am currently doing 50p/30c/20f. I can't eat a lot of carbs. I am doing Cathe's Butt&Gut Rotation w/my own thrown in too.
I can't wait to get to know everyone!

This week I'm beginning week four on BFFM and so far have been very happy with my results. I feel like the 5 meals a day routine is really settling in now. The great thing about BFFM is that I'm never hungry, so staying on this program for the long term doesn't scare me in the least! Continuing on to reach a personal goal weight right now looks very attainable.

Did Body Max in it's entirety this morning. What a long workout! It's been a while since I've done it all. Good thing today is a holiday so I didn't have to get up early to fit it all in before work.

I went to BIL's house at 3 pm yesterday to watch a football game. We brought a bushel of crabs but other than that there was nothing else besides brownies, cookies, ice cream, and cheese balls to eat (all these are trigger foods for me so it was better I didn't touch even a little of it). I got home at 9pm and was terribly hungry because I'd only had crabs the whole time I was there. Lesson learned: Next time I won't rely on SIL to have something healthy around. Next time I will need to bring something like a fruit or veggie tray that I can snack on.

So much for my rambling thoughts today. Happy burning everyone!

Vicky - The past is past. You still have plenty of time until your Hawaii trip. You can still reach your goal. Don't let others sabotage your efforts. You can do it!

Carla - you are more than welcome to join in. We'd love to hear how you're doing with BFFM. I don't think any of us regulars have been using BFFM too long so we're all kind of at the same point. Please check in with us every day (or however much you want actually). I personally like the accountability of working in a group. It helps keep the motivation up.

Greetings Burn Babes!

Well, well, this past weekend was my first year anniversary, hubby's BDay and TTOM. Triple Whammy. It is just unbelievable how many events and social outings pop up!

TK I am with you on your lesson learned with packing a little something as a healthy option when going to a party or being in a situation with few clean choices.

In a nutshell: my eating has only been about 70% clean this week but my burning has been a perfect 100%. Despite the dietary indiscretions I, too, feel real changes in my body. I am still following A-Jocks fat burning rotation for me, and I have increased my running from 4.5 to 6.5 miles on the weekend.

My goal for this week is "one day at a time", keep it clean, and try my best. I need to start tracking calories and reporting them. (That way I'll do it!).

Welcome to new burners. For God's sake don't burn in the closet!! Come out, come out! As you'll see, we're far from perfect, but making progress.

Burn on!

X

Hi Burners!

Today has been a pretty good day, in spite of the fact that we're getting our first snow of the season! Nothing's accumulating but it's still cold and wet - enough to make a person want comfort food. I gave in a bit to that yesterday, but today I'm right back on track. My biggest frustration is a viral thing I'm dealing with and I haven't worked out since Thursday. It's driving me CRAZY!x(

I have a question: what activity factor did you multiply by to get your TDEE? I used 1.75, but I'm wondering if that's too high. I usually do a Cathe workout in full 5-6 days a week; though lately I've been doing the one-body part a week rotation.

You girls are very inspirational - I'm glad we're doing this together!

Hi everyone!!

Vicky - Continue to go forward and forget about last week. Focus on what you can do one day at a time. You can do it.

Welcome Carla - It does seem amazing how much food we can eat, especially since it's always been pounded in our heads you have to eat less to lose weight. Congratulations on seeing some results.

TK - I thought I would try to work in 6 meals a day but I haven't been successful yet. I have to keep working on that part. I love the way BFFM has taught me to clean up some of the fat in my diet.

X - Happy Anniversary.

Dayna - I used both the moderate and very active to figure calories but I ended up using the moderate level. It's working for me so far. I love the way my body is starting to show changes.

I started the S&H series this morning and ran for 30 minutes. My calories today 1472 - 21%F, 43%C, and 31% protein. These numbers don't add up to 100%. Why is that?

Hope you had a great day.

J

Hi BFFM Supporters,

Tomorrow will be two weeks on this program. I've lost 2 pounds. I would have lost more if it were not for my cheat day each of the two weeks, (and one of them with a glass of wine, which sabbotaged everything; darn) I've learned to cheat only with one meal now, and not a whole day.

I was afraid to eat more than 1200 calories, but I know now I was starving myself. Now I eat and eat and eat 5 meals a day and 1400-1600 calories. Holly Cow! Who would of thought you could lose on that many calories. I love this program, I'm hungry sometimes, but it only lasts a short time, then I eat again. Amazing!

Congratulations everyone for chooseing this program, and if it weren't for you all, I'd still be starving myself, and still not losing weight. THANK YOU! Until I know any difference, I'm sticking to this. I've tried so many programs out there it's not even funny, and none comes close to this.

Hello, Everyone!

Thanks for welcoming me. I am very excited to go through this with everyone. Makes it somewhat easier. Not only that, but harder to quit!;-) This can be pretty frustrating.

Well, I have learned for me to lose weight I need to carb cycle along with cycling my cals. So today is my low carb day. I still have carbs just not as high as normal. I never cut them all the way out. I am also doing my high days on Wed. and Sun. Does anyone else have chosen days or do you do 3high/1low? This has worked for me. I tried the other and not cycle carbs. It didn't work.

Workout today 200 walking lunges w/2 15lbs db's, 30min uphill walk on treadmill, stretch max 1. This afternoon GS Legs floor and PLB floor.

Have a great day!

Hello Burners
Last week, part of the week before, and 1/4 of yesterday were BAD. I Will, and DID revisit my goals today and I will be back on tract. There are NO excuses, I KNOW what I want and I will get there. Just some encouragement self talk. You gals are a great resource for me and a source of encouragement...keep it up:)

Hi Ladies sorry to barge in. I just wanted to tell Dayna I live in Denver. We are only an hour apart! E-mail me sometime.

Thanks

Terri

Hi J,

I will attempt to help. Here goes.

To get your percents;

For your total Protien you multiply by 4 and divide by your total calories.

For your total Carbs you multiply by 4 and divide by your total calories.

For your total Fat you multiply by 9 and divide by your total calories.

I hope this helps,

Janie

Hello everyone! :)

I've been following BFFM dietary guidlelines for a month now and have acutally lost 8 lbs of fat. (And working out like crazy!) Scale weight I've dropped 4.5 lbs. I have been trying everything in my power not to sabatoge myself. I just love to eat sweets and this month of cutting back on them (just to cheat meals) has been HARD. :(

You would think this would be getting easier, not harder! x( I made my husband some delicious brownies to bring to work today and it took all my willpower not to eat the entire pan! :9 Why do I torture myself?

Keep up the good work everyone! This weekly check in really helps me-thanks!!

Quick swoop in at lunch time.

Marsha, Marsha, Marsha....nice work there! I sympathize with you as far as the sweets go. You know, this weekend we had a LUCIOUS chocolate cake around the house. Friday night I had a slice after a glass of wine suppressed my inhibitions. Although it tasted really good, I felt terrible just thinking of how it may have neutralized or detracted from all my hard work that day.

For the next 2 days (and that cake is still a lingering houseguest!)I just abstained. I felt very empowered. I think that a moment of instant gratification is not worth sabotaging hard earned results.

I often repeat this mantra whenever chocolate taunts me: "Nothing tastes as good as feeling fit and thin".

X

Hey everyone!
I need help! I don't want to exercise this week and that is very strange for me. Yesterday and today getting out of bed was like pulling teeth. I feel so tired. I don't know why but I can't get motivated. The good news is I did ME with shortcuts yesterday and Rythmic Step this morning all the way through even though I wanted to quit the whole time. I have eaten clean both days and my calories are where they should be. I snuck a peek at the scale this am and I am down 2 lbs so I should be motivated right? What do you think, take the week off or suck it up? I hate to take a week off when I am finally loosing again. How do I turn the fire on again? Vicky

Hi, Vicky.
I am sorry you are feeling down. Are you pmsing? I get like that sometimes too. Take a rest day. When was the last time you had one? I mean like really rest. Take a nap or just relax. I don't know about a whole week. I would only do a day, 2 at the most. You can do it! Once I start the workout, I get myself so fired up. I can really give it my all!
Good luck!

OK - in reading so many of your responses, I have now downloaded and am working on printing this book - it sounds like what I need. I look forward to joining the group here!!!

Whew! Let's see if I can reply!....

TK - I'm STILL thinking of that bushel of crabs - yum! I miss seafood so much. But I guess there's only so many you can eat at a party, eh?

J - thanks for the advice on the activity factor. I'm trying the moderate multiplier, it just *feels* like a better number.

Carla - I'm currently doing 3hi/1low, but am starting to think 2 chosen days might be better. Then our family could plan a night out each week, instead of on my whim! I haven't tried the carb cycling, but I definitely lose better with lower carbs - I might have to reread that part of the book.

Jedi - I'm glad you are here and ON TRACK! I just went through a tough period, too, and today's a re-commitment day. I was going for a 21-day run, and got to Day 11. Ack! That's okay - some changes for life are worth the struggle.

Hi Terri up north!

Marsha, you lost 8 lbs of fat?!!! Thanks for sharing your successes, very motivating.

And yes, Anne, read the book. I highlighted mine so I can go back through for the "condensed" version.

Today I did Step Blast after 4 sick days (more like "not-up-to-par days"). For some reason, I always pull out SB as a transition, rather than jumping right into an Imax. Tomorrow I'll continue with my rotation. I started using FitDay yesterday, and today have a lot of foods entered in. It's SO much easier seeing the percentages and totals, rather than waiting till the end of the day! DH thinks I'm getting a bit obsessive - he could be right!
