Hi Burners,

Sorry to start the thread so late. Hope everyone survived Turkey Day okay. Now we have all those holiday parties to contend with. Keep the burn going everyone!

To all who enter here, please feel free to jump in and contribute. This is not a closed thread. Anyone who is currently using or thinking of using BFFM (this is the eBook by Tom Venuto called Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle) you are very welcome to join in! We'd love to hear from you.

Well I survived another one. Actually I didn't do too bad on Thursday. I gravitated toward the veggie tray before dinner and only had a sampling of everything offered at dinner. No seconds on anything and only one small slice of pie. Even still I didn't want to weigh myself on Friday, so I postponed my weigh in until next week.

Eating higher protein didn't seem to be doing anything miraculous with me so I've gone back to a 50/30/20 carb/protein/fat mix. With all the cardio I do, I just didn't feel like I had enough energy in reserve when I was eating at 40/40/20. We'll see what that change does to the scale on Friday. What mix is everyone else using?

Everyone please check in and let us know how you're doing!

I survived Thanksgiving, only had turkey, a little stuffing and squash. Got my Accumeasure last week and am still experimenting with the "right place" to do the pinch!

Hello ladies,

I recently purchased the bffm book and am about 1/3 of the way into it. I am very encouraged by the results that you all have posted, and am trying to incorporate its principles in my day to day life.

I was always a 'zone dieter' - but found that it was hard to keep those last 10lbs off.

With the exception of a Sunday afternoon late luncheon where I had a half sliver of cake, I ate clean the entire week.

I didnt lose any weight however - which is a bummer - but I have been exercising regularly.
My base metabolic rate is 1500. In the past when I have lost weight, I have dropped my calories to the 1100 range. I think that I have slowed my metabolism down from years of dieting - and so am hoping that with the bffm principles and regular exercise, this too will improve.

Take care everyone - and have a great week.
Yve

Well, I had a rough week. With Thanksgiving and a few holiday parties I ate more than I should have. :( For some reason I showed a fat gain (not too suprised by this) and a muscle loss this week. I think I actually measured wrong the week before and really just stayed the same body mass wise. I did manage to exercise every day last week at least! :)

As far as ratios, I am still working on that. According to fitday, I usually run 35/35/30. I'm trying to increase my carbs and decrease my fat levels.

I hope everyone has a great week! :) :)

Hi everyone,
I am hanging my head in shame! I didn't survive Thanksgiving. I had the best of intensions but blew it! I don't think it was Thanksgiving so much as the gloomy weather for four days that made me eat non-stop. I got up the nerve to get on the scale today and I gained 2 1/2 lbs!!! I am mad at myself because I even felt sick but didn't quit eating. I know that I eat because of bordom, sadness, happiness etc etc instead of because I am hungry. I only have nine weeks to Hawaii and I want to look hot, not luke warm in my bathing suit. I thought that would be motivation enough but I guess not. How do you get past the mental stuff? The eating for comfort or celebrations etc.
I got back on track yesterday with KickMax and clean eating except for two bites of my sons ice cream last night(why do I buy it???). Today I did IMAX3 and have been on track with eating. I need to go back to Chapter one and start with the mental training. It's my head that is messed up. I know that my weight loss is 80% food, 20% exercise. I love to exercise and that is easy but it is impossible to close my mouth. Can you tell I am frustrated? I am so glad you all are here for me. I think this forum keeps me more focused than I would be. Have a great week everyone! Vicky

Hi Guys,

I recently purchased BFFM and have just finished reading it. Very interesting. Would you guys mind posting a typical day of eating and working out with this method. (sorry if this has already been asked) Also have you had good results. I am trying to get definition and lean out and I'm wondering if this is a good way to do it. Thanks so much.

This morning I did Circuit Max
Since the end of September I've lost 10 pounds so far using BFFM. I'm hoping to get 6 more off to get to a personal goal.

Vicky: I can totally relate to what you're saying about eating. But the important thing is that you got back on track and didn't continue on that downward spiral. You can do it!

Marsha: I haven't bought the accumeasure thing because I don't have the patience to learn how to use it correctly. The omron might not give me the correct BF% but it's consistent and easy to do. I give you guys credit for giving accumeasure a go.

Fox: You go girl! Sounds like you sailed thru the holiday.

Yahoo...lost another pound! I am sold on this lifestyle. went to the DR today for check up, and my blood pressure was 102/60, resting ( or not so resting since I had been up for a while and had coffee), was in the 60's.

For those "on the fence", this is really the best program I have found in quite a while.

Woohoo Fox, congrats on your loss. I weighed today and found another one gone too. Go us!

It took me a while to find the place in 3fatchicks to change my slider. Did they move it recently? I made sure I bookmarked it for next time.

:)

Tk and Burners,
I usually do about a 50/30/20 mix as well. I love my carbs and it keeps my mood and energy levels in high gear. I haven't been logging my foods lately...ah, the holiday season....I promised myself that I will do it this week just to keep myself in check.

Robin :)
