BFFM? Artificial Sweeteners

KimDW

Cathlete
I am thinking of ordering this book and had just one question.

Does it suggest using alot of artificial sweeteners? (Splenda, Stevia, Aspartame etc..). Because I can't eat or drink anything with artificial sweeteners in it. I get terrible headaches. I generally eat sugary things in moderation. I just don't want to order the book and then find out it's not really for me because of the sweetener issue I have.

Thanks,
Kimbra

P.S. Does anyone know if it really is still at the $39 price with the free bonus books? I know the website says it is but sometimes those things aren't as up to date.

Hi Kimbra,

I am a "burner", or BFFM follower. I can tell you that sugar is definitely not part of clean eating. So that would mean that if you needed to sweeten any of your cereal, coffee, tea or fruits, you would have to use the artificial sweeteners that you mentioned.

Having said that, after the first 48 hours of not eating sugar, your body accomdates very well.

The BFFM book is indespensable IF, you have the time and comittment to learning the program. It is like taking a college level course in how (and all the "why's") to change your lifestyle/eating in order to burn fat and become your best you. It's hard work but very worth the $40 online.

Good luck and visit the BFFM thread to learn more about how we're doing.

I'd choose the stevia. I consider artificial sweeteners poison and I don't trust them. They may not trigger insulin but they can trigger craving since they are so sweet. Stevia has no effect on insulin and it's natural as well.

FYI: Stevia isn't an artificial sweetener. It comes from a plant (and I've never heard of people getting headaches from it).
