Better Burn Better Buns

Hi Angela! I just discovered this reply from you about BBBB. I'm sorry I didn't see it sooner. (Must be all those floaters I have in my eyes. x( ) Thank you so much for the great update! I'm glad you're a good sore. Sounds like it may work for me. It's very helpful in making purchasing decisions when you can hear other's accounts of them. This site is just too cool! :7 Thanks again.

Hi Michelle,
I don't get the "same" worked out feeling like I get with Cathe, but I feel thoroughly worked out. I did Endurance for Movement for the second time only today and it was more difficult because, second time around the moves weren't as awkward to me. In a couple of sections, I practiced the moves with lighter weights, backed the DVD up, and did the secion again with a heavier weight. I feel worked out in a completely different way but not like Imax worked out. I may be adding some Imax premixes to the TLT's, but to be honest right now, I'm having a hard time making myself do anything but the TLT's. There is just something about them I am enjoying and I just think for me I need a little break from mostly Cathe all the time. Don't get me wrong, I love my Cathe workouts and will never part from them but with the stress I face this time of year, a change was in order and these just fit the bill for me.

Edited to add that I think adding a LM premix or the blast only premix to BBBB would really um....give a good lower body burn!}(

But now you have something to look forward to on Monday and what a great way to start the week...with a new workout!

These workouts sound like they are really good. I will see how I like BBBB and then I might get Endurance For Movement next. That was the one I started to get first.
Like you, I love Cathe and would never stop doing her workouts OR buying them, but do get burnt out doing her workouts all the time. A change is nice.

Thanks for the reply
Michelle

Hi Angela,

I ordered all 4 of the TLT'S on Fri. Can't wait to get them! You gave such good reviews, and like you, I just wanted to mix things up. I have been working out to Cathe, exclusively for almost 2 years, and just want to add a little variety. I stll believe that Cathe is the best, but while I am waiting for the new DVD'S, I figure I'll try something else.}( }( I am excited! Thanks, for reviewing them, Angela;-) ;-)

I got up and did Strength in Movement before church this morning and again, I practiced a couple of sections, then backed the DVD up and did a couple of sections again to perfect the movements. I was sweating buckets during this one today as I did during EFM yesterday. I added on 5 intervals from Imax 3 today. I can't wait to hear what you guys think about these!

Christine,
Did it come today? I did BBBB minus stretch followed by LM Blasts only followed by Mega Step Blast Bun Blaster section only then went back to BBBB and finished with the stretch. I was a fabulous lower body/bun burner & cardio workout. It was a little bit of a time eater though!

According to my DD - the only video I've gotten in my Spinervals tape. Which could mean the mail has not come, my DH picked it up and put it somewhere else, or it's simply not here... *drums fingers impatiently* You know how patience is a virtue - well, unfortunately, it's not one of mine.
:+

Well, DD called to tell me that I have another package. My BBBB is HERE!!! I'm stoked! So that's what I'll do tomorrow and I'll let you know what I think!

christine - thanks for the update! I cannot wait to hear your review. This thread has introduced me to these dvd's and now I am totally interested!

Thank you!

I really liked this one. It's VERY different, and even BBBB is more of a total body conditioning, but I can really feel it in my glutes, right where the back of the legs meet the bum. I also feel it in my core - kind of a stretched feeling. I can definitely understand why people say you'll have to do it more than once. I think this is one of those series that you really have to get down the moves to appreciate it. I am excited because I'm visiting my dad this weekend, and I can pack this and my med ball (I used a 5 pound with not problems, but I'll probably pack the 3 pound) and do it there with no problems.

I find that to be true with these. And as you get better at doing the moves, they don't seem to get any easier (well, easier to do with correct form, but still challenging to the core, balance, etc.).

I've been sticking with FYC for a while, until I feel I've plateaued with it (or get sick of it), and as I get more proficient at it, I feel some of the moves deeper and deeper in the glute/hamstring area! I didn't really have much DOMS last time I did it, but my glutes were feeling ROMS (!)(rapid onset muscle soreness!) for a few hours after the workout!

I'm so glad you liked it Christine. I was worried that after I raved you would buy it and be eh about it b/c it is so different. I'm really having a hard time deciding which one if my favorite. I love the work done for posture at the beginning of BBBB where you lie on the floor with a stick and pull it into your chest. I'm trying to stick with a rotation I made myself and I should do HSC or HSTA or MM or PH or ME today but I WANT to do a TLT. We shall see what I end up doing....I totally agree...these just get better the more I do them!

So Angela - what did you end up doing? I'm thinking of putting together a rotation of Cathe and Tracie - mixing up the heavy weights and functional fitness...

By the way - that daggone little ball catches up with you! I was fine after the workout, but all of the sudden my arms are starting to let me know they're there. I did take a spin class this afternoon, but that's all leg. So this HAS to be BBBB. Amazing... How'd of thought that such a small weight could work you so hard!

Hey Chrisitne! I ended up doing HSC....I can't give up on my Cathe's completely! It was a great workout!

Amy, FYC is a total body weight workout (not heavy Cathe weight) that utilizes the stabiliy ball a lot calling on the core to stablize you. It is really nothing like Core Max but your core is worked. The name is a little deceptive. I will try to find a thread that gives a detailed review of FYC and post it here for you.

These TLT DVD's ae really great! I got them right after Christmas and I must say they keep challenging me in new ways - I keeep going back and forth on which one I ike the most - I really like them all.

I rememeber a few times I just couldn't get through the BBBB - I didn't get it - not because it was too hard - I just couldn't seem to get into it - then all of a sudden I got into it and I love it - There is a part in there where you use the STICK for your abs - the one where you have the stick under your legs in a sit up position and you bring it over your head. First, I used a body bar - then I got really smart and started using the FLEX BAR - it made the exercise more doable for me - since the bar is flexible.

EFM is a really awesome one too - I have been doing that one quite a bit - I have done FYC tons - and I still do not find that easy - it is still challenging also - I love these functional workouts -
They just keep growing on me - I hope Tracy plans on doing more of them.

Cheryl

Could someone tell me the difference between Tracie's Endurance for Movement and Strength in Movement? I've looked at both of them and am trying to figure out what one offers over the other. Thanks. Bam
