Hi. I am new looking for one of these great workouts that i have heard so much about. I have been walking about 3 miles aday. I would love to start Cathes videos but have no idea where to start. She has so many and I have read nothing but GREAT stuff about her. I am trying to loose 30 lbs and want to tone up also. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get started and advice. thanks

Hi deltad,

I hope Cathe sees your post in the other Forum but I'll respond here. Just by the information given in your post, try to view the clips of Low Impact Step/Total Body Sculpt or Basic Step/Body Fusion. I can't tell how long you've been walking or if you've ever done step/weights by reading your post, so these are the beginner programs that might interest you. If you would like something intermediate or advanced please let me know.

HTH,
jordan

ETA: just wanted to let you know about the official beginners rotation (written by Cathe) that is pinned at the top of the video and DVD rotations forum.

I have been walking for awhile now-not sure how long. I have done some weights but I am just now getting serious about working out. I have started eating healthy and want to get in shape. I appreciate any advice you can offer. Thanks for replying so soon.

Hi deltad,

Welcome to the forum :) . Congrats on your commitment to exercise and a healthy diet. It sounds as if the beginner workouts are a good place to start especially since you are new to step workouts. Some people get frustrated if they try a workout that they are not ready for and don't know how to modify down. Try to watch some of the clips to get a feel for the workouts. If you feel ready for something more advanced than just ask. Many forum members will be helpful in sharing ideas for workout purchases and enthusiastic about suggestions on spending your fitness dollars. Don't try to do too much too soon but establish a routine and stick with it. Remember this a journey, not a race. Your results will come with hard work (but you can have fun while you work).

This is a good place for advice and motivational words, so keep visiting and posting.

Nice meeting you,
jordan

Before I found Cathe, I worked out at the gym (but no step classes!). Because I hadn't done step in years, I started with Basic Step + Body Fusion and High Step Circuit. I was sweating profusely and beat red!

I'd also try Low Impact Step.

Those are *great* for learning footwork :)

Thanks! That makes me feel better. I have ordered those and I am so excited to get started. Just curious, but how long did you do those and what videos did you move to next. I also want to do some weights. How did you rotate them???
