Best Tasting Vanilla Protein Powder

My Mom is finally trying to seriously lose weight. Her health is not that great and the weight loss would help tremendously in that department. As it stands she can not have back surgery due to her excess weight (at least 100 pounds overweight). If she had the surgery now then she could become paralyzed. In any case, she has discovered a love for healthy smoothies. Her doctor has recommended adding some protein powder to them since she does not eat meat very often. Can someone suggest a good tasting vanilla protein powder? I want to buy it for her, but I don't think the whey protein I've used in the past she would care for.

Thanks!

Hi Kristi, I really like the GNC whey protein it is very good and mixes well. My favorite is a cup of water, frozen strawberries and a banana. I use two scoops which gives me 40 Gr of protein. I have tried the chocolate also for a change and it is really good too. I only eat tuna no other meat.

I hope your mom has great success getting healthy, feeling good and looses the weight she needs to. it sounds like you are very supportive, kind and loving to her. I wish her success.

Have a nice day

Deb

I want to 2nd the recommendation for the GNC vanilla whey protein powder. Its easy to mix and you don't have to use a blender. My husband takes it to work and has all the ladies there into healthy protein smoothies. It tastes good with a banana and water and blended with some ice. I prefer it with skim milk.

I like Carb Soultions Protien Shake Mix. Problem is, it seems my stores are slowly fading it out. 2 local stores, including Kroger, stopped stocking it.

Also, it is hard to mix up, you need a blender.

I am so useless...

That's fantastic that your mother is going to start to get herself in a healthy weight range, and that you are behind her doing some research.

I use Champion Nutrition and really like it. I guess when I was first looking for whey proteins, this one stood out because it doesn't have aspartame. I use the vanilla for making smoothies with frozen fruit, and I also like their chocolate and banana in smoothies or just on its own with cold water. I hear they have cookies and cream, too, but it's not available where I am. ;(

I hope you find one that she likes! Though my guess is, if she plans to make smoothies with them by adding fruit and whatnot, whatever you go with will probably taste dang good! Love those protein smoothies!

kristi,

hey!!! so nice to hear from you again. i've been thinking about you lately wondering how you and your children are doing.:)

how is your running coming along?

Thank you all for your responses! I'm going to try GNC first since it is only 1/2 mile from my house. Thanks again!

Sunny D - Funny you should post, I've been thinking of you too! My running is going well, nothing much to report there since I am still adding miles, but very slowly. The first of the year I will be starting my official training and adding more miles until my HM. How is your training going for your 5K? Did I read somewhere you are injured?

it's going as well, i feel i will be ready for saturday. no, not really injured just had some pains in my knees and ankle the other day. nothing a couple of rest days won't fix:) can't wait to hear about you HM!!

come back, don't be a stranger.;)
