Bento's In the Ring--hmmmmmmmmm..........

RE: For those of you who own weighted gloves...

Hi Angela,

I doubt that Amy is going to change her style, so I wouldn't worry. I cannot wait to receive the workouts, planning on doing In The Ring first using my 8 pound medicine ball and then I will try her CIA. Amy's workouts are intense, with complex choreography which I thoroughly enjoy.

P.S. I own tons of weighted gloves and use them for all the kickboxing workouts.

Tee hee....I so HOPE mine arrive tomorrow! I don't know which I will try first! I think her CIA workout looks really tough and fun and the music from what I could hear in the clips rock!

Angela,

When you receive them post a review, want to hear your point-of-view of the workouts.

P.S. Can wait to hear all the details regarding ASC3, I'm sure it is going to ROCK.

LauraMax,

OK, I'll start light you spoilsport! Thing is, I'm a big guy and I'm used to lifting heavy. Still, better safe than sorry...I suppose you're right. :)

Anyway, my "In The Ring" arrived today and I am going to get to it in about an hour's time.....yes, with an 8lb med ball.

Looking forward to it.

Muscle guy, if you find the 8 pound too easy then heavy up to 10 pounds....

I finished 'In The Ring' a little while ago. I was not overly fond of the choreography. i feel that she had too much going on. If the combo's had been slightly shorter perhaps I would have enjoyed them more. Personally, I work up more of a sweat and heart rate with Cathe's KPC and KM and Cathe's choreography is not nearly as complex. I also enjoy KPC and KM much more. The production value of Cathe's workouts is also superior.

This workout definitely requires space. I actually liked the intervals and used a 10lb medicine ball. Perhaps some of my feeling are due to the learning curve and I may feel differently once I have done the workout several times. I can see myself using this DVD to do the Interval premix as an add on to some other workout. The pre-mix goes through each of the intervals twice. I also enjoyed the music.

I would give 'In The Ring' 3 out of 5 stars

I enjoyed it. Yes, it has a learning curve, but that is what I want. If I could get through the workout first time without problems, I would probably get rid of it.

I honestly have two left feet when it comes to choreography but I didn't find this too hard after watching and trying each combo a couple times. They are done in an add-on fashion so that was cool.

I think the complexity of the moves will make this workout one that ages well.

I started out with an 8 pound med ball, but then went to 13 pounds (running away from LauraMax)....but I was OK with it.

By the end, even though I had only done maybe 65% of the actual kickboxing due to learning the moves, I was sweating and felt worked out. Feel great today.

This is one I will be persisting with.

Question about the sound. On her last step tape, I could not hear her because the music totally drowned her out. Is there sound issues with this one?

The sound quality is much better w/her new DVDs. She has something in her blog about how they cut holes in her top so they could put the mic on the outside, & you can hear her much more clearly.

Muscle Guy! :p Glad you were good w/the 13 lbs. Just didn't want to se anyone get hurt! ;-)

Monse:

Could you please tell me what brand of gloves you wear during your kickboxing workouts?

TIA!
